CHAPTER 13. Kill the new Comrades

The next Day after defeating Dr. Stylish Night Raid and Alien Force had joined up together to search for a new location for their new hideout.

Currently they are flying over the forest and mountains via Air Manta Danger Beast with Tatsumi cheering on.

"Whoo, Alright this feels awesome!" Exclaimed Tatsumi as Chelsea, one of their newest members, finds him very cute and dorky for a killer.

"Hehehe, You're too Innocent. I can't believe you're a killer." Chuckle Chelsea lightly making the boy blushed. "It's funny, I never expected that." She gave him a friendly smile.

However what Akame finds missing is Ben as she glances behind them and sees that the original Alien Force trio was busy discussing things regarding their true mission while Ben allows the sleeping Sheele to lay her head on his lap.

"Any luck in finding Future Kevin or Vilgeek Gwen?" Ben asked as the meditating Quarter Anodite stopped her tracking and shook her head.

"No, even with the most advanced mana tracking technique that grandma taught us they're just too good at hiding their scents." Sighed again as she stops her mid air meditation. "And that Future Kevin matches Kevin's mana so locating him is impossible."

"MAh, don't worry we'll find the best case scenario is one of them make a move." Kevin pointed out and Ben agreed.

"Well, you're future self did make a moved through Dr. Stylish by giving him all those techs for his experiments and test subjects." Ben told Kevin.

"I still don't get it though, what's his big scheme?" Gwen asked and both boys shrugged.

"Knowing myself, I'm definitely gonna use this opportunity to build my own huge crime empire to corrupt the capital. If not, He has already done it and is making himself known to us to strike by sending pawns on us or our allies." Kevin stated and Ben nodded.

"That's definitely be what your old you would do, with those Cyborgs being sent to hunt me down as he sees me as a top priority target." Ben concluded and the two nodded in agreement.

"So, the first order of business is to fight him on equal terms." Kevin said. "But how are we gonna fight his pawns who's obviously taught in using the art of KI?" He asked.

"Glad you asked, once we landed we'll begin training for Night Raid. in the ways of KI." Both Gwen and Kevin shudder at the reminder of how their training with Master Krillin went downhill for 9 months to make their body become durable from KI attacks as they know Ben would train them the same way.

This statement wasn't hard to make the entire members of Night Raid feel tense at the sudden vibe Gwen and Kevin felt.

"Hey would you three stop being serious and appreciate the view! Honestly, I never thought that this would be a blast!" Chuckle Leone and Akame nodded.

"Indeed, the view is really something. It's quite nice." Akame said with a smile while being too ignorant of the two assassins who are completely nervous as heck.

Ben chuckled at this. "I guess you're right Babe, this is a fun ride." He said while caressing Sheele's hair softly.

"Indeed the wind is so calm I forgot what it feels like flying could be relaxing sometimes." Sighed Gwen in relief.

"No! it's not damn it!" Mine exclaimed, her face pale as she clung to Lubbock. Both assassins were trembling slightly, as they held onto each other for dear life. "I fucking hate heights!"

Hearing the two scream in horror of heights Kevin chuckles at this.

(One Hour Later: 120 km Southeast of the Capital, Marg Highlands)

"Alright everyone we're getting off here!" Najenda called out, hopping off the Air Manta as it landed in a large clearing. The rest of the Night Raid assassins and Alien Force quickly gathered their belongings and followed her. "This place is packed with dozens of sheer plateaus and has a very unique ecosystem. All the Danger Beasts in this area are a fairly high level, which makes them extremely dangerous. This whole territory is virtually unexplored...not fit for human habitation." A small smirk suddenly spread across Najenda's face. "But because it's unexplored territory...it's the perfect place to build a temporary hideout. A more fitting place for us to stay near the capital is currently being scouted by the Revolutionary Army's reconnaissance team. Until they're finished we'll train here." Everyone was slightly surprised when the Air Manta suddenly lifted off the ground and started to fly off.

"Huh? Is it really okay for that thing to fly off, boss?" Mine asked, as she watched the Danger Beast disappear in the distance. "He's carrying all the teigu we confiscated too."

"He's way too precious a transport vehicle for us to hoard all to ourselves." Najenda explained, resting her hands on her hips.

"I'm gonna miss that big guy." Tatsumi said, as he pretended to wipe a tear from his eye.

"He probably went back to HQ where his nest is." Chelsea said, briefly taking her lollipop out of her mouth. "It's actually a very efficient way to get things delivered." A hidden smirk spread across Chelsea's face, as she began to snicker. "Heh, I can't believe you didn't know that Mine."

'This bitch!' Mine thought, as she tightly clenched her fist. 'She's really starting to piss me off!'

"Come on Chelsea, don't tease Mine like that." Tatsumi said, setting his bags onto the ground. "We don't need to build any unnecessary tension."

"Aw don't be like that." Chelsea said with a grin, as she playfully flicked Tatsumi's nose. "I was just messing with Mine. Trying to lighten the mood, ya know?"

"I understand that, but Mine obviously didn't like it." Tatsumi said, resting his hands on his hips. "So please just go easy on her."

"No promises." Chelsea said, as she shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

'Damn, I hope I didn't upset her…' Tatsumi thought, releasing a light sigh, as he began to rummage through his bag. 'I just don't want her and Mine at each other's throats...I want to make sure they both survive this war.' He was pulled from his thoughts when he felt something tug on the back of his sweater. Turning around, Tatsumi was surprised to see Mine standing behind him. The pink-haired sniper appeared to be flustered, with a light blush dusting across her cheeks.

"You didn't have to do that." Mine muttered, as she turned her head to avoid Tatsumi's gaze. "But...thank you. She really was starting to upset me. If you hadn't stepped in I might have said something bad."

'Wow… Mine's really cute when she's embarrassed.' Tatsumi thought, his cheeks faintly tinting red.

"Well that's all I wanted to say." Mine said, as she turned her back to Tatsumi. "Don't expect a reward or anything."

"Of course you don't have to give me anything, Mine." Tatsumi said with a smile, chuckling lightly. "I was just helping out a friend."

'Damn it!' Mine thought, as her blush returned in full force; her heart pounding in her chest. 'Stop saying cool things like that!'

"Well I think it's about time that I formally introduce the newest members to our team. The first is..." Najenda said, gesturing towards where Chelsea was just standing. But she was surprised when the auburn-haired girl suddenly wasn't there. "What the?"

"Whoa Akame, your hair is so pretty." Chelsea said, as she ran her fingers through Akame's long jet-black hair. "You're actually really cute up close."

"This...came out of nowhere..." Akame said, feeling slightly uncomfortable. "Could you please-"

"We've already met, but for everyone else I'm Chelsea. I hope that we can all get along as teammates." Chelsea said with a bright smile, as she briefly riffled through her pockets. Akame's eyes immediately lit up when Chelsea pulled out two lollipops. "Here, one's for you."

"You're cool with me." Akame muttered, rushing over and snatching the piece of candy from Chelsea's hand.

"Did she just win Akame's heart with a Lollipop?!" Gasped Ben in surprise who just joined them as he let Kevin and Gwen set up an area to place the Capsule containing the small version of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

"She must've been too hungry during the long flight." Concluded Lubbock.

"Here you go." Chelsea said, as she tossed the other piece of candy to Mine. The pink-haired sniper's eyes widened slightly, as she caught the sucker. "Consider that an apology for earlier."

"Oh...thanks..." Mine said, staring down at the lollipop in her hand. "Maybe she's not so bad after all." A small smile spread across Mine's face, as she unwrapped the candy and popped it into her mouth. However, Mine's smile quickly disappeared when her lips began to pucker. "GAH! That's really sour!"

"Well it is a super sour apple." Chelsea said with a smirk, as she slowly shook her head. "I apologized for earlier, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop messing with you."

"Tch, you're lucky that I like sour apples." Mine said, biting down into the sucker and breaking it to pieces. "I'm gonna keep my eye on you. So don't think you'll be able to pull a fast one on me like that again."

"We'll see about that." Chelsea said, as her smirk widened. "I like a good challenge."

"Hey boss, about Chelsea..." Ben said quietly, walking up next to Najenda. "She doesn't really look like she's a better assassin than Mine or the others...is really cut out for this?"

"Yeah, boss, what's with her, is she really an assassin?" Tatsumi butted in also curious about Chelsea.

"You two, Don't let her looks deceive you." Najenda said, as she crossed her arms over her chest. "She has the same number of successful assassinations under her belt as Akame."

"Are you serious?" Both boys asked in a shocked tone, staring at Chelsea in awe. The young assassin and Hero had a hard time picturing Chelsea as a trained killer, let alone one with as many confirmed kills as Akame, as he watched her continue to tease Mine.

"That's crazy." Tatsumi exclaimed.

"Tell me about it." Ben said. "But I agree with what the boss said, don't let the cover fool you, it's better to watch someone like her up close."

"Well said Benjamin." Najenda nodded at Ben's awareness of others' appearances. "Anyways, this is right here is the new teigu I was given by the revolutionary army's HQ." Najenda explained, as she walked up next to Susanoo. "Flash of Lightning: Susanoo." With a grin Najenda patted Susanoo on the shoulder.

"And According to what I have learned from the revolutionary army, He's a biological type teigu who can move around on his own, so he won't be a heavy burden." Kevin proclaimed as he and Gwen came back before tossing something to Ben who caught it with his right hand and nodded knowing that he already finished what he asked them to do.

"Well, we may have already met, but..." Tatsumi said with a smile, extending his hand towards Susanoo. "I look forward to working with you!" He was surprised when Susanoo's eyes suddenly widened. Then in a split second, Susanoo shot towards him.  "Whoa! What the-" However, Tatsumi stopped in his tracks when he felt Susanoo tuck in a portion of his shirt that had been sticking out.

"There!" Susanoo exclaimed, as a look of relief washed over him.

"Oh that's right, I forgot to tell you all. He's a bit of a neat freak." Najenda stated as Tatsumi sweatdrop.

"Yeah I kinda notice that." He said.

"Now that you mentioned it, it would explain why he fixed my hair last night." Mine told them. 

"So..." Leone said, as she plopped down onto a large tree root. "What's this guy's main skill? Combat efficiency or something?"

"Heh heh, I'll just have to show you all." Najenda laughed, clenching her mechanical fist. "I suggest you all prepare yourselves."

Kevin realized what she was planning and smirked as he leaned towards the Tennyson cousins/Couples. "-Watch this guys you'll definitely see why she's showing so much enthusiasm over the new guy.-"

This got the two Tennysons raised an eyebrow.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Ben asked as Gwen just folded her arms.

Meanwhile Tatsumi and the others look confused and curious about what Susanoo's gonna do.

'What the hell is he gonna do?' Tatsumi thought, as he audibly gulped. 'I saw Susanoo fighting earlier, so I know he's really strong. What other special powers does he have?'

'Okay, this should be interesting.' Ben thought.

"Do your thing..." Najenda exclaimed, pointing towards the nearby clearing. "Susanoo!"

"Understood." Susanoo said, as he dashed off in a blue blur. The rest of Night Raid's members watched in a mixture of awe and utter confusion, as Susanoo raced around performing a series of chores, from washing clothes and cooking to beginning construction of a large cottage. The teigu's movements were incredibly fast and precise, as he continued to do his work.

"Uh...this all really cool and all..." Lubbock said in a confused tone, rubbing the back of his head. "But what exactly is this?"

"Also, for the record I can do this with XLR8 or even Clockwork in seconds." Ben pointed out.

"Yeah boss, it just looks like he's doing housework." Tatsumi said, as he pointed at Susanoo, who was already putting the finishing touches on lunch.

"Exactly!" Najenda exclaimed, startling the other Night Raid assassins. "Susanoo was originally created to be the bodyguard of a V.I.P.! While he may be constantly on guard to battle any possible threats, he's also equipped with the household skills to take care of his master's every possible need!"

'The boss is way too excited.' Both Ben and Tatsumi thought with a sweatdrop as Ben shoot a glare at the laughing Kevin who already knew where this was coming from.

"Cleaning, cooking, laundry...he does it all!" Najenda explained with a grin. "And he has over 1,000 recipes amongst his repertoire!"

"I'm sold!" Akame cheered, as her eyes instantly lit up, already drooling at the thought of tasting Susanoo's cooking. "Welcome to the team Susanoo!"

"None of the things you listed have anything to do with fighting." Mine said in an annoyed tone, releasing a light huff.

"On the contrary, these are very useful skills." Najenda said with a smirk, as she crossed her arms over her chest and Kevin also tried to agree with her as he found this type of Organic Teigu useful.

"I kinda agree with the boss Lady here, And of course not only Susanoo is skilled in combat and house chores but he also has a trump card when it comes to battles. Right?" Kevin nodded at the Organic Teigu who nodded back.

"Right." Susanoo replied, nodding his head.

'So these two are our newest members?' Tatsumi thought, as he stared at Chelsea and Susanoo as A small smile spread across Tatsumi's face, as he made his way over to his comrades. 'I really do think that I can rely on both of them, and with Ben's  own team on our side they can be our trump card against the empire.' However, Tatsumi soon sighed when he saw Chelsea once again teasing Mine, enraging the pink-haired sniper, and Lubbock taunting Susanoo. 'Looks like our teamwork is gonna need a little work though.'

(Same Time: Jaeger's Meeting Room)

"That idiot..." Esdeath muttered underneath her breath, tapping her finger on the table. The capital's most feared general was currently waiting for Run and Bols to finish searching through Dr. Stylish's room. The doctor had been missing for almost and entire day, and had seemingly vanished without a trace. Although the others were hoping to find some type of clue in Stylish's room, Esdeath already had a pretty good idea of what had happened to him.

"We've completed our search of Stylish's quarters." Run said, as he walked into the meeting room, with Bols tailing behind him. "But..." The blond-haired man released a heavy sigh. "We found no solid clues indicating his location, or what he was planning. Though all of his precious study materials and tools were still in his lab. So...he obviously didn't try to flee...the most likely conclusion is that he was killed."

"Judging by the absence of his fortified soldiers..." Bols explained, slowly shaking his head. "They must have all been dispatched in battle."

"I had a feeling..." Esdeath said with a light sigh, as she stood up from the table. "That means yet another person to avenge...Where is she now?"

"I believe that she's out in the courtyard." Run replied, pointing to a nearby door. "She didn't look too shaken up when I last saw her."

"She must be bottling up her emotions." Esdeath said, as she made her way towards the courtyard. "I'll go and speak with her. It's not healthy to keep things locked inside like that, and I need all of you in top shape."

(Two Minutes Later: Palace's Inner Courtyard)

"I guess he really is gone..." Seryu thought, her eyes downcast as she polished Number 7: Taizan's Canon of Justice. "Why do I keep losing people that are precious to me?"

"With Stylish gone, will you be able to keep up the maintenance for your parts?" A new voice said, snapping Seryu from her thoughts. Turning around, Seryu was surprised to see Esdeath against a column behind her. Seryu didn't want to worry Esdeath, so she forced a smile onto her face.

"I'll be just fine! He left behind plenty of materials in his lab." Seryu replied in a faux cheery tone, as she patted the large weapon in her lap. "I won't be able to make any additions or upgrades, but I should be able to maintain it with my own builds as a cyborg somehow..."

"I see..." Esdeath said quietly, watching as Seryu's lip began to tremble, as she fought back her tears. Moments later, not able to endure the pain anymore, tears began to fall from Seryu's eyes. 'Just as I thought...she's been holding back up until now.' She thought..

"First my parents...then my master...now the man I owe so much to!" Seryu cried out, tears streaming down her face as she hugged herself. "Everyone that is important to me...keeps dying at the hands of villains..." Clenching her teeth, Seryu tightened her grip on her shoulders. "Commander...I...I can't stand it anymore! I...I want to destroy those fiends! I want to erase Night Raid and the accursed Ben Tennyson! And all their members and allies from the face of the Earth!" As Seryu continued to weep, she was surprised when a pair of comforting arms wrapped around her. Looking back, Seryu was surprised to see that Esdeath was holding her.

"As long as you're with me..." Esdeath said, as her normally fierce eyes softened. "I will do my best to make that dream come true."

"General..." Seryu whimpered, before she buried her head into Esdeath's chest.

"From here on out...and even after that, I'll look after you as one of my vassals." Esdeath said, letting Seryu cry into her chest. "It's the very least you deserve..."

"Thank you, General." Seryu said, as a small smile spread across her face. "I devote my entire strength and my very life...to justice, and you my commander." As Seryu continued to find comfort in Esdeath's embrace, her mind began to wander to what Tatsumi had said to her. 'Tatsumi may be right...I've done terrible, awful things...I may have become a monster...all in the name of justice...but while Night Raid are a bunch of filths Ben Tennyson is the true evil of this world...maybe once they're defeated I can work on atoning for the horrible things I've done...but until then, I will not rest until every single member of Night Raid and Ben Tennyson's allies are all dead and I've gotten my revenge...I'll make the people who killed my master and Dr. Stylish pay!'

'I don't want to get the girl's hopes too high.' Esdeath thought, staring down at Seryu, as she remembered the offer Tatsumi had made her. 'What Tatsumi said wasn't wrong. The minister is a coward who controls the empire by using the emperor as his puppet. The only reason most people serve him is because they're desperate, or they're terrified of what'll happen to them if they disobey. Without that fear the military would largely collapse, and only the most loyal would remain. A strong leader instills courage and confidence in their men, not terror. Without a strong leader an army becomes weak and disorganized. If what Tatsumi said is true, and the revolutionary army is stronger than we anticipated, then the regular troops won't stand a chance. It'll just be a matter of time before they're overrun, and it'll be up to the teigu users to defeat them.' A twisted smile suddenly spread across Esdeath's face. 'But now the rule has change with Ben Tennyson's involvement into the picture as a god he can easily wipe these fools out, I know for the moment I challenge him that night I have no match for him with that hidden power of his he can surpassed my full power when it comes to my trump card and KI powers that I learn from the roosters academy but it won't be enough to kill Ben Tennyson while I do like Tatsumi of his bravery and determination, It's Ben's power and Strength that I am looking for a man and if only by chance manye he'll gave me an opportunity to join him and The Revolutionary army. Besides I'm only fighting for these fools because they allow me to do as I please, I swear no allegiance to this country. So if the revolutionary army gave me similar liberties, I may be tempted to switch sides. In this world only the strong can survive, so if the empire has become weak it must be left behind to die. I look forward to when Tatsumi and I meet again, because I'm curious of what he'll have to say…' Esdeath then looked back down at Seryu and her maniacal smile changed to a warm one. 'But as long as I'm sided with the empire I'll do my duty and protect my men, that I swear.'

On the other side of the courtyard Wave made his way to where he had last seen Seryu, with Kurome following closely behind him.

"Alright, let's do this!" Wave exclaimed, as he punched his fists together. "I'm gonna talk some sense into Seryu!"

"I doubt you'll be able to do that Wave." Kurome said, slowly shaking her head. "You're not very good with words."

"I don't care." Wave said, as he turned to grin at Kurome. "My mom always told me. When a girl's in the dumps...it's a man's duty to lend them a hand." Kurome was surprised when Wave said this, and her eyes widened slightly. "I think she's up ahead!"

'Huh, maybe he's not such a country bumpkin after all…' Kurome thought, a small smile spreading across her face.

"Now's the time!" Wave exclaimed, as he burst into the center of the courtyard. "Seryu! I'm here to comfort-!" Wave stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the display right in front of him. Esdeath was currently holding Seryu in her arms; the capital's most feared General comforting Seryu as if she were her own daughter. Seeing that he was already too late, Wave hung his head in defeat. "I...She...I didn't even...come on man..."

"It's the thought that counts." Kurome said, patting' Wave on the back.

(That Night: At Night Raid's Temporary Base)

"I wonder if things are going alright in the capital..." Ben pondered, as he stared down into his drink. "We won't be able to leave for a little while..." Releasing a light sigh, Ben took a sip of his drink. 'I have a feeling that Project Cy-X and CA-24 are just the tip of the iceberg. I have to think of a way on how KI knowledge came down to this world and by far how long it has been taught to someone like Esdeath?' He thought to himself.

"The reports we've received say that the Jaegers have really been doing a great job curbing criminal activity." Akame said, sitting down in the seat next to Ben. "Those villains probably won't be making many moves until they get more accustomed to it."

'With how powerful they are, there's no way some petty criminals could stand against them.' Ben thought, as he remembered all the destruction Jaegers had caused when they had raided that bandit camp when he tried to rescue Tatsumi from Esdeath.

"Exactly, so we'll use this extra time to train." Najenda said, clasping her hands on top of the table. "We're unable to ask for any more reinforcements. This of Kevin, Gwen, Chelsea and Susanoo as Night Raid's final backup. Let's all accomplish our mission and survive to greet the day of revolution!" Najenda's declaration earned a resounding cheer from the rest of Night Raid's members, except for Susanoo who merely nodded his head in agreement. Suddenly standing up from her seat, Najenda walked over to Ben and rested her hand on his shoulder. "It's time we discussed what you mentioned about your Team's own mission and what's Night Raid's place on it. Follow me."

"Yes boss." Ben said, as he stood up and followed Najenda towards the back of the cottage.

"Huh? Where are they going?" Lubbock asked, watching Najenda leave the room with Ben following closely behind her. The green-haired assassin spotted Akame and Sheele out of the corner of his eye, and a sudden thought jumped into his mind. "He's not gonna make a move on Najenda is he?! I'll kill him!"

"Cool your jets Lubbock." Chelsea said, as she took a momentary break from teasing Mine. "Benji and the boss are just going to discuss how he plans to deal with not only Esdeath but his team's own mission concerning the Empire."

"And how do you know that?" Mine asked in an irritated tone, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well if you must know, I overheard Ben talking to the boss about it before we came here. Something about Tatsumi suggesting to have Esdeath join the revolutionary army's side." Chelsea replied, as she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know how the hell he plans to do that though."

"Well, I imagine Tatsumi suggesting something like that but with Ben agreeing to it by trying to pull it off? I just don't see how that's possible. I mean don't get me wrong I wanted to believe either of them but..." Lubbock muttered, staring down at his lap. "I just can't see that woman switching sides."

"Both of them will do it." Akame said, as she rested her hands on the table and abruptly stood up from her seat. "If there's anyone who can pull this off it's either Ben or Tatsumi." Akame closed her eyes and tightly clenched her fists. "Although I'm not sure much about Tatsumi pulling it off sure he can do it because Esdeath has a crash on a while ago but knowing Esdeath she moved her attention to Ben as he has more than just strength he has powers to surpassed hers and she would do anything to have him by his side."

"So more or less, Benji might have a better chance of pulling it off than Tatsumi then?" Guessed Chelsea.

"I don't wanna be that person, But I have a lot of faith in Tatsumi." Mine tried to defend her boyfriend. "I mean sure he acts all innocent and childish from time to time but when it comes to this type of burden I have hope he will pull it off."

"Mine's right, Like Ben He's carrying more of a burden then any of us realize, so we have to believe in him. I don't know how he'll do it, but by chance if he manages to convince Esdeath to join our side. And when he does we have to be ready to support him." Grabbing MURASAME, Akame began to exit the room. "Now if you'll excuse me I have some training to do before I go to bed."

"Akame's right, I may not like the idea of working together with that icy bitch, but if either of the boys says she's got some good in her then I'm willing to try." Leone said, slipping out of her seat and following after Akame. "I better go with Akame, make sure she doesn't go too overboard."

"What do you think, Gwen? You've known Ben the longest." Mine asked, as she turned to face the red-haired half Anodite who had been mostly silent throughout the entire conversation. "Do you think either Ben or Tatsumi can do it?"

"Look I barely know Tatsumi but from what I see he's full of determination to make sure that you guys win this war and if he says he would try to convince this Esdeath person he'll do it." Gwen stated. "Besides, I have seen this same resolved on Ben and I have known him since birth and throughout our adventures as heroes I watched him constantly making enemies and sometimes turn those enemies into allies take Kevin for example he use to be a bad guy that tried to kill us but now his helping us if he can change someone's mind to do good like Esdeath he'll do it, And ever since he joined Night Raid, I've been hearing Professor Paradox of Ben's growth every day in this universe, and once I reunited with him here. I don't see the Ben I once knew before he was sent into your world and it's almost like he's a completely different person." Raising her head, Gwen had a small smile on her face. "I trust Ben more than anybody else, and I know he'll do anything he sets his heart to. So if he wants to convince Esdeath to join our side, then I know he's going to do it." She said. "And besides, we need more allies than enemies."

"Well that answers my question." Mine said with a hidden smirk, as she nodded her head. "Then I guess there's no other choice, I'll trust Tatsumi and maybe Ben to get the job done."

Chelsea had listened to the entire exchange with piqued interest. The auburn-haired Hero rested her head on her palm, as she stared at the door Ben and Najenda had exited through. 'I don't get it...Both Tatsumi or Ben didn't look all that special...so why do they all have such faith in either of them?' Rolling her tongue around the sucker in her mouth, a grin spread across Chelsea's face. 'Well whatever it is, I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes on them so that I can see it first hand.'

( Flashback )

( "But our question for you is, who do you use The stolen Level 5 Energy Cells to power up those Droids-." Added Kevin.

"Cyborgs!" The Mad Doctor corrected him but he was ignored.

"Androids! That kind of Technology on?" Kevin continued as he demanded answers.

"Answer them I'm running out of patients!" Growled Sheele as she pointed her open up giant scissors towards Dr. Stylish threateningly. "Well, we're waiting!"

He gulped seeing how Defenseless he is and gave his answers. "You already know the answers to that after all you already fought her clone! It's Seryu Ubiquitous!" He yelled out. "My employer and I use her and another Imperial guard for these projects as the new step of Human Evolution between man and machine as foundation to make them last long enough to defend the empire for the next generation, we use those so called Energy Cells as their power core to make them run forever without them dying out of losing power. We perfectly design them to handle someone like Ben Tennyson. And Mr. Levin thought that using Ms. Ubiquitous obsession in killing him to motivate her in following his programming would be beneficial not only to him but also the empire!"

"WHAT!?" Ben, Akame, and Sheele all screamed. All the rest of Night Raid backed off. Ben, though angry, had to fight his urge from transforming into Rath to ask where the woman was. Gwen had no idea who Seryu was but could tell that she caused a great amount of grief in the team. Kevin dug in his pockets for something before things got messy.

"What are you doing Kevin?" Gwen asked.

"Trust me." Kevin winked at Gwen confusing Leone and Lubbock. Mimi shook in terror.

"Do you have any idea how dangerous Seryu would be if she was made that powerful!?" Sheele broke her cool. She was conflicted between chopping him in half versus beating him to death. However, as many feared, she would rather take the latter than the former. Her blades inched closer to a begging scientist. It even got to the point where Akame and Ben tried to calm her.

"Ben, think fast!" Kevin yelled. Before Kevin ever thought about throwing it to a wide-open Ben, Sheele had just tossed her Imperial Arms away, marched towards the scientist and presumed to beat him. She grabbed Stylish's neck, dramatically picked him up and, pushed, and delivered rapid punches through various areas of his body. Blood and bones spurred. Every punch she landed was bone crushing.

Stylish spat blood from his mouth. "N-no more!"

"Even if that was a clone, Seryu was still the one that almost killed my sweetheart! SHE was the one responsible for the hundreds of deaths and you made her that powerful!?" Sheele angrily asked.

"I-I-I never...Seryu…"

"If you're gonna excuse your so-called programming it won't work! Seryu is a piece of shit who should die along with that little Imperial Arms she has! I'll make sure you meet your demise as slow as I possibly can!"

She spun a deadly kick to his neck; his skull fractured. Sheele continued pounding him until she picked him up and threw in the air before delivering a devastating reverse roundhouse kick to his stomach forming a footprint through his back before drop kicking him to the ground. She landed on the ground grabbed her Imperial Arms to the pleading Scientist until an orb was thrown in front of him. Ben grabbed her and presumed to kiss her, distracting her long enough for the orb to activate. She was struck on shocked.

"What?" Without warning, the orb opened up, sucking him inside the ball. Agonizing screams followed by a bone-crushing blow to the head served as the catalyst to the scientist's demise.

This was a fate worse than death.

They broke the kiss. Sheele angrily turned to Kevin who pointed to Leone who was the one who threw the ball.

"Don't look at me like that!" Leone said.

Akame was just in shock at the amount of energy and raw rage Sheele had.

Ben draped his hand over her shoulder, "Are you ok?" Immediately, Sheele turned around to a worried Ben and hugged him.

"Ben! Are you alright? Please tell me you are! I'm so sorry! So sorry!"

Ben tried to breathe. "It's okay. You can let go of me now!"

"Good grief! Despite the fact I want the guy dead, I didn't want to actually see someone getting beaten to death, unless it's by me." Leone said.

"Sheele must really love Ben." Lubbock said. "Lucky bastard."

"Where did you send him, Kevin?" Mimi finally asked.

"The Null Void." He told her.

"The Null What?" Leone asked.

"The Null Void is an intergalactic prison, Kevin thought trapping him in there would - well spare his life a little since..."

"So he's alive..."

"Barely." Kevin and Gwen said in unison after witnessing that horror show.

"Excellent job everyone." Najenda said, as the Air Manta touched down next to everyone. Night Raid's boss hopped off the Danger Beast, along with Mine and the other hooded figure. "You all did well defending our base." Najenda turned to Dr. Stylish and released a heavy sigh. "Once we've collected Stylish's teigu, we can head to a secluded spot to lie low for a while."

"Uh Boss." Ben said sheepishly, walking up to Najenda.

"What is it, Ben?" Najenda asked, as she lit a cigarette.

"Once we arrive at our new hiding spot, can I speak with you in private?" Ben asks as he manages to materialize himself a new batch of clothes a while ago after unfolding the blanket he was covered when he transforms back from being an Ozaru.

"Oh, if you don't mind me asking, what is it that you want to talk about?" Najenda replied, as she took a quick drag of her cigarette.

"It's about my Team's true Mission and possibly, Esdeath." Ben explained, causing Najenda's one good eye to widen in shock. "Look, I know I made a terrible impression and introduced myself to her but after hearing this crazy idea about Tatsumi to convince her to join our side, this might give my team and yours an advantage against the empire and our mission."

"Ben, you must be-" Najenda was about to ask if Ben was joking, but she stopped when she saw the determination and fire in his eyes. So after releasing a heavy sigh, Najenda stomped out her cigarette. "Alright, I'll hear you out. If you have a way to make Esdeath switch sides despite your fight with her, I'm all ears. But know this Ben, if Esdeath does decide to help the revolutionary army, you're responsible for her and any trouble she might cause."

"I understand Boss...and I'm willing to take full responsibility for her actions." Ben said in a determined voice, causing a small smirk to spread across Najenda's face.

"You're quite odd aren't you, Ben?" Najenda said, as she chuckled lightly. "But you're a damn fine fighter, and I'm glad we managed to meet you, despite all the bad circumstances that went along with it a few months back."

"Thank you Boss, I can't imagine my life without Night Raid anymore after those months." Ben said with a small smile, just as he remembered one more thing he needed to ask Najenda. "Um Boss, can I ask you one more thing?"

"Go right ahead, Ben." Najenda said, as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"I have a training proposal for the entire team if you wouldn't mind." Now this intrigued Najenda.

"Go on." She pressed on as Ben breathed heavily.

"I would like to propose a training session with Night Raid to learn the ways of the KI." Ben told her, shocking her.

"The Sacred Art of KI?" Gasp Najenda in astonishment causing Ben to look shocked.

"Wait, you know about the knowledge of KI?" Ben asked her and she shook her head.

"Not natural but I heard rumors about it during my General days in the empire only the top best and chosen Cadets within the imperial academy of the Empire can learn it at this other training academy." Najenda explained.

"Interesting." Ben put a hand on his chin. 'So whatever this Academy within the capital was responsible for Esdeath to learn the ways of the KI huh?' He thought.

"So, Ben, how come you know about the ways and knowledge of the KI?" Najenda asked.

"To be Honest, The way and knowledge of learning KI Techniques was passed down through generations of Martial masters in my world." Now this, Intrigued Najenda. "Now there are only a few in my world who know the sacred art of the KI."

"And they are?"

"Some of Mother's side of the family, close friends to the old Masters, My Cousins, Me and Kevin." Ben said. "And if the way of the KI made it through here I can only come to the conclusion that Kevin's future self was responsible for teaching this knowledge that might be a trouble for us." Najenda frowned at this as she agreed with Ben Esdeath herself also were taught of the ways of the KI, that's how she lost her right eye and left arm.

"And you're worried that our own enemies learn these kinds of Techniques?" Najenda asked, causing Ben to nod.

"Yup, so my proposal was to teach the team the way of KIs and some new fighting styles for them that me and my own Team knows, that might give them an edge against the Jaegers." Ben told her.

"I see, okay then I allowed it." With that said they all hopped on the Manta Ray Danger Beast. )

( End of Flashback. )

(Same Time: With Ben and Najenda)

"Alright..." Najenda said with a light sigh, slumping down into a chair. Taking out and lighting a cigarette, Najenda took a quick puff. "Start talking Benjamin. You said you might have a way to convince Esdeath to join the revolutionary army's side even after fighting her to the death. I'll admit that I have my doubts, but I'm still very interested to hear what you have to say. Because it would really be a huge advantage to have Esdeath on our side, and would almost guarantee our victory."

"Well when Tatsumi was captured by Esdeath, he told me why she stays aligned with the empire." Ben explained, which caused Najenda to quirk an eyebrow in intrigue.

"Well she's dead set on the idea of survival of the fittest. It was pounded into her head when she was a child." Najenda said, taking another puff of her cigarette. "She works with the empire, because she believes they're stronger than the revolutionary army."

"That's not entirely true." Ben said, as he locked eyes with Najenda. "While Tatsumi was held captive, He told me that he was able to make Esdeath doubt the empire's strength, if only for a moment. But in that moment he made her question the empire's power and realize that the minister is crippling this country. With every passing day he believes her view of the empire grows worse and to make it more interesting I think she can see who has more power on this side of the war after fighting me."

"Okay, if she's not working for the empire because she believes they're stronger than the revolutionary army, then why does she continue to work with them?" Najenda asked, leaning forward in her seat. "Esdeath is a woman who admires power and she won't work with anyone who she views as weak."

"From what Tatsumi told me. Esdeath continues to work for the empire, because they allow her certain...
liberties..." Ben replied, as he nervously rubbed the back of his head.

"What type of liberties?" Najenda asked, her one good eye narrowing slightly.

"Well...they basically give Esdeath free reign as long as she follows orders. She's allowed to kill and torture as much as she pleases." Ben said, as he began to fidget slightly.

"I hope you don't expect us to allow Esdeath to do that." Najenda said, leaning back in her seat. "We can't have the revolutionary army looking like a bunch of bloodthirsty murderers."

"I know, and I'm not suggesting that either nor does Tatsumi, to give Esdeath complete freedom." Ben said, before he took a short breath to calm himself. "When I fought Esdeath I can clearly see that she has an extremely powerful bloodlust that will need to be satiated if we want to keep her satisfied. So I believe we should allow her to interrogate any prisoners we capture. That way we can curb her desire to torture."

"I see...that's not a terrible idea." Najenda muttered, rubbing her chin. "But what's stopping her from killing our prisoners?"

"We'll have to monitor her of course." Ben said, as he released a light sigh. "And if she starts to get out of control I'll volunteer to step in and stop her."

"Okay, I suppose that will deal with her need to torture and maim, but you must know that, that won't be enough." Najenda said, taking another puff of her cigarette. "Eventually Esdeath is going to want to kill something. Simply torturing some prisoners won't be enough for her."

"Yeah, I kinda notice that from fighting her..." Ben said quietly, as he avoided Najenda's piercing gaze. "But I think I figured out a way to satisfy Esdeath's desire to kill. She'll be the revolutionary army's secret weapon when we finally assault the capital."

"Secret weapon?" Najenda repeated, raising a silver eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"

"We'll keep Esdeath from killing anyone until we're ready to attack the capital, letting her desire to kill grow. Then once we attack we'll keep the main army back, and allow Esdeath to fight a majority of the capital's forces by herself." Ben replied, which caused Najenda's remaining eye to widen. "The rest of the army can jump in and assist when needed, and they can handle any stragglers that manage to get past Esdeath. Taking on the capital's forces by herself will surely satisfy Esdeath's need to kill, and will give her the rush that she craves."

"That's...That's an amazing idea." Najenda said, standing up from her seat and beginning to pace back and forth. "Esdeath is strong enough to handle normal troops by herself, even if there are hundreds, even thousands, of them. With her leading the attack that will drastically cut down our casualties. This would almost guarantee our victory without a shadow of a doubt." Najenda suddenly stopped pacing, and turned to face Ben. "But...there's one thing about your plan that's bothering me."

"What's that boss?" Ben asked, as a confused look spread across his face. "Did I overlook something?"

"It's just..." Najenda said, briefly pausing to take another drag of her cigarette. "What is going to happen once the fighting is over? Esdeath is going to have to pay for her crimes in some way, even if she helps us defeat the empire. I doubt she'll give up without a fight."

"I told you boss...I'll take full responsibility for Esdeath." Ben said, as he locked eyes with Najenda once again. "Instead of killing or imprisoning Esdeath, banish her from this country or better yet to this world. I'll go back to my own universe with her and do my best to keep her in line."

"Ben...do you understand what you're suggesting?" Najenda asked, a hint of sadness in her tone. "You won't be able to witness the growth of the new empire or this world. You'll never be able to return here."

"*Sigh* I know all that boss...and I'm ready to accept whatever lies ahead. And besides I'm not native to this country nor this world I can just ask Paradox to make me visit this world and bid my goodbyes to the others here at Night Raid." Ben said, as a small smile spread across his face. "Besides, Akame and Sheele said that they've always wanted to travel around the world. Maybe they'll want to join us."

"Akame and Sheele huh?" Najenda parroted with a smirk. Ben immediately realized his blunder, his face burning bright red in embarrassment. "So there is something going on between you three."

"What! No! I mean... there's nothing-!"

"Don't try to deny it Ben." Najenda said with a smile, ruffling some of Ben's hair. "I noticed all the signs between you three. Akame and Sheele look so happy whenever they're with you, I've never really seen them like that with anyone else before. Akame rarely shows her emotions, but she always seems to smile when she's around you. And you've given Sheele a purpose in life that she is more useful than just an assassin. Just remember to always keep each other safe."

"I understand boss, I'll do everything I can to ensure that everyone survives this war and fulfills my Team's mission." Ben said in a determined tone, as a passionate fire burned in his eyes. "I love Akame and possibly love Sheele, and I'll protect them no matter what."

"That's good...I think you three make a cute couple." Najenda said with a smile, dropping her cigarette and stomping it out. "Well your plan seems pretty solid Benjamin, and it looks you have most of the details worked out. It seems that the only thing left to do is to convince Esdeath to abandon the empire and have her join our side."

"I can't shake the feeling that I'll be meeting with Esdeath again very soon." Ben said, as he looked down at the floor. "When that time comes I will do whatever I can to convince her to join the revolutionary army."

"I understand that you want to boost the revolutionary army's power even with your own Team to help us...but I don't get it..." Najenda said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Why are you willing to go so far for Esdeath after nearly Killing her? She's a cold-blooded killer, who tortures and murders people for fun. Most people would rather see her head on a platter, then let her help them. But here you are coming up with this elaborate plan to make her switch sides."

"It's true that Esdeath has done some truly horrible and unforgivable things, but from what Tatsumi told me he had seen a part of her that I doubt many others have seen." Ben said, as he tightly balled his fists. "She's not all blood and despair. Tatsumi had seen that Esdeath can be quite caring and affectionate, even emotional. When he was captured Esdeath told him that she loves him, she even offered to let him stay in the palace. Esdeath may be the empire's most feared general, but she's still a woman, and it seems like she wants to experience love..." Najenda's eyes slightly widened when Ben said this. "Boss, there might still be a chance that Esdeath still has light in her, but it's completely engulfed by darkness. but if Tatsumi is right and willing to go through with his stupid plan. I know that if we both try hard enough either of us can drag that light out and bring out the good that's still inside Esdeath. I know it won't be easy, but I have to try. Besides, an old friend of mine once said; Every sentient being has the capacity to change."

"That's a wise word from your friend, Oh well it looks like you'll have a tough job ahead of you." Najenda said, placing a comforting hand on Ben's shoulder. "But you and Tatsumi are both special and I have a feeling that either of you will be able to pull this off."

"Thank you boss." Ben said, as a smile spread across his face.

"Heh, Just like Tatsumi you're quite odd Ben." Najenda said with a smirk, popping another cigarette into her mouth and lighting it.

Ben smiled and shrugged at that. "I heard worse boss, anyways I'll soon set up the place in our Hiding spot tomorrow where I'll train everyone the ways of KI."

"Alright." Najenda said, nodding her head and turning to look out a nearby window. "You're free to go, Ben. I'll pass your plan on to HQ when I have the chance."

"Goodnight boss." Ben said, as he exited the room. Releasing a heavy sigh, Ben closed the door behind him. "Okay, there's no backing out now. I have to pull this off, the other's are all placing their faith in me."

(The Next Morning: Imperial Capital)

"Commander, is there something wrong?" Run asked, spotting Esdeath scan through a nearby crowd of people.

"I just can't help it..." Esdeath replied, as she released a light sigh. "Whenever I see a crowd, I always look for either Ben or Tatsumi."

"Commander, Don't get me wrong I would have always assumed that you would be more interested towards Tatsumi not this Ben character who I keep hearing about." Run said out of respect.

"While it is true that I have small feelings towards Tatsumi but after nearly dying at the raw strength and power of Ben Tennyson that night, Tatsumi just become an admiration for me due to his devoted courage and determination to protect his loved ones, but Ben Tennyson his a whole different level and while I still longing Tatsumi's kindness I crave Ben's raw strength and power." Esdeath told Run.

"I see, but commander if I may." Run said, noticing the saddened look on Esdeath's face. "I've uncovered several men in the army who resemble not only Tatsumi but also this Ben Tennyson person. If you desire, I can call them."

"There's no need to do that." Esdeath said, as she slowly shook her head. "There's only one Tatsumi and Ben in the world. I won't tolerate any other."

"My apologies." Run said, bowing slightly. 'Oh my...when this super-sadistic woman teamed up with the minister...I thought that whatever skills she might possess must certainly be lowlife. But she's more intriguing a general than I thought...and I've been given a most comfortable place to work. It seems I'll have to put my original goal on hold for a while.' He thought.

'What's this strange sensation in my chest?' Esdeath thought, as she clutched a hand over her pounding heart. 'Will I be reunited with either Tatsumi or Ben soon...or is a great battle approaching?'

(Same Time: Mines Near the Capital)

"UWAAAAAH!" A group of miners screamed, running away from a large, hideous monster behind them as it had a very long tail.

"I've never seen a Danger Beast like that!" A miner yelled in a panic, as he sprinted past the other miners. "Run for your lives!" But their efforts were in vain, because the humanoid tailed insect Danger Beast  easily caught up with them. The miners screamed in horror, as the Danger Beast  grabbed hold of them. Before the miners even had a chance to struggle, the human-like insect Danger Beast sucked them all up with its tail.

~Ah, Nothing like a good ol' midnight snack for me to feast on...~ The snake eye-like creature who devoured all the miner said. ~It's been such a long time since I've been into my hunting grounds, the capital. I'll make sure to enjoy myself before I hunt down my two missing pieces.~ The Creature maliciously chuckles before it lurks back deeper into the mines.
