↳ Bestowed upon her by her big sister Hermione, Leona has reached something of a conclusion on the origins of her befitting name— Either Mione made it up on a whim one fateful afternoon, or decided to build off her middle name, Penelope. Which either derives from the Greek pēnē, or 'penelops' a type of duck.

↳ A short abbreviation the youngest Granger would have a fit over if you ever addressed her as such. She'd always chip and snide and correct you that her name is 'Leona', up until her forth year that is when she actually begins to favour the name and becomes inclined towards it, hugely favouring it on the tongues of her friends and closest allies.

Gifted from her very first breath, Leona followed the perfectly paved path of her sister from the moment she knew how to walk. Even from a young age, Leona was a quick learner, her wide eyes took in everything around her, and she made it her sacred duty to acquaint herself with the unfamiliar.

The Granger sisters shared an insatiable thirst for knowledge, one they would honour by hoisting secret meetings under makeshift pillow forts or beneath the shadows of the great oak in their small suburban garden, reading books of old and gossiping about all their triumphant idols such as Marie Curie or Caroline Herschel. That is until a whole dictionary of new idols opened up as soon as their magical roots were discovered.
However, no matter how great, no idol could ever be as influential or inspiring to Leona than Hermione was. She was the person she looked up to the most and she was her number one. Her trusted confidante, her dearest sister.

From her buck teeth to her extraordinary intelligence, Leona shared a remarkable similarity to her sister. If classes were solely based of practical skills alone, Leona would be the top of her class without question. A fast thinker with the skills of an innovator, there's no problem Leona can't fix. She's resourceful and observant, combining these two skills together to get a product that surpasses them both. She sees what the world has to offer her and uses all its assets to her benefit.

Leona is better with her hands than she is with any test. Being chained to a desk, pen in hand and examination in process, Leona fails to succeed in the environment her sister effortlessly dominants. Leona loves learning, and although she does ok in a classroom, the lessons she favours is when she needs to apply her brain rather than her ears. If anything she finds the idea of sitting and listening utterly boring. She's come to understand that she's something of a kinaesthetic learner, needing to get her hands scratched and dirty to actually get something embedded into her mind. Not that she can't learn a book from the cover to the synopsis, but when it comes to pouring her knowledge onto a piece of paper her memory seems to falter.

Witty and clever, Leona is often seen tripping people up with her words alone. Even her humour is intelligent and she's keen to fight with her words than with her wand, and yet still emerge victorious. She has blunt attitude to her, she won't beat around the bush, instead she'd deliver her words hot and heavy with the intention of saving time. So being as blunt as she is, Leona isn't one to keep her mouth shut and if she has an opinion, by Merlins beard she'll make you hear it. Stubborn as a mule and as headstrong as an alligator on the banks of the Nile, She isn't one to be easily swayed or convinced. Leona likes to be the one calling the shots and often takes the role of leadership whenever she sees the position available, she's confident in her abilities, even if people cast doubt on her capability because of her wavering test results.

Leona lives up to her namesake and has one heck of a fiery attitude. Her temper isn't one to be trifled with and she's as loud and she is judgmental. She's more snappy and argumentative than she ever is violent, but her words could slash deeper than any curse around. Despite this, Leona is normally friendly and gentle, but she doesn't let her kindness get taken advantage off.

Like her sister, Leona is a bit of a know it all, Sure she may not be the best at test taking, but she still has her wits about her and is always there to act as a fountain of wisdom whenever her friends are in desperate need of some. Leona tries to be as useful as she can, learning random facts and figures just for the mere chance they may become helpful later on. As Hermione shines brighter and brighter, Leona becomes to fear the inescapable fact that she may as well be useless. Who needs a Leona when you have a Hermione? She often compensates this soul eating feeling with taking charge and assisting others whenever they need a study Buddy.

Leona is creative and innovative, she's a problem solver, acting on the moment rather than sitting back and organising some wild and grand plan. She's willing to take risks because she's self assured she has what it takes to diffuse any situation that comes her way. Shes shown to be more reckless and wild than Hermione in her methods. She's daring and focused in her interests, She tries her best to study, always trying her hardest to even live up to her sisters title in the slightest. Once she has her eyes on something, her determination burns into ambition and she doesn't stop until she achieves her goal.

Being a competitive soul, Envy has been known to blossom from Leona's usually gentle heart. In her later years, being compared to Hermione has become nothing but a nuisance to Leona. She isn't as smart as Hermione, she isn't as pretty or as popular. Whenever she's around her sister, her confidence drops and she finds herself trying to out do Hermione which usually leads to her making more mistakes than she usually does, only making her more self conscious towards her own abilities. Leona isn't easily satisfied, once she's accomplished something she moves onto the next best thing.

Although social, Leona has her awkward tendencies when she can become a social mess and can do nothing but blush and mumble before she makes some wild excuse and dashes away into a corridor to hide her embarrassment. She could be surrounded by a group of people and still feel as lonely as ever. Leona has no problem talking to people, it's actually connecting with them and establishing a friendship that she usually finds the hardest puzzle she can never learn to master. 

Leona wants to contribute to the world. She wants to be valued and seen as her own person rather than 'Hermione's sister'. She's always desperate to prove herself, jumping at whatever chance is presented. Her problem solving skills and natural talent for potions is something to be praised and she's just waiting for the right person to cone along and acknowledge them.

𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗: Born into the Granger family residence, Leona never felt out of place as a young girl. Attached to the hip with Hermione, she always had a friend to converse with whenever she came home from school. Leona was seen as a clever sprite by both her parents and teachers alike, she was active and clever in her ways. She always had an opinion on something and held herself like any adult would. She would be described as an 'old soul trapped in a kids body', while in reality the only 'old soul' thing about her was her common sense and unusual advanced understanding of mathematics and science. She would've been boasted up a year if her parents weren't insistent on making sure she experienced the regular 'childhood experience'.
Despite being two years apart, Leona and Hermione always did their homework together, they'd walk to school together and talk about things that weren't usually on the minds of kids their air.
When Hermione turned eleven and Leona was just nine, An owl flew through the window of their small ornate kitchen, a letter in her polished peak.
Hermione was a witch.
And Leona was left alone for two years wondering if she could ever match the brilliance of a witch.
Leona hadn't gotten along with the other kids at school so she walked alone and worked alone, her grades now starting to differ from Hermione outstanding performance.
Leona at the time was to young and naive to be jealous, and before even a tint of green could pollute her eyes, she had received her very own letter. They were both witches!
Now Hermione would claim that Leona sobbed with joy the second she saw the owl in the window, and although she is absolutely true, Leona would deny deny deny.
Leona was ecstatic and infuriated with the idea of Hogwarts, she wanted to be in Gryffindor with Hermione. A brave and courageous lion. However, she wasn't too displeased when she was placed in Ravenclaw, the house of the wise. Although separated from Hermione, Leona was determined to make her mark in Hogwarts, just like her sister had. Teachers expected great things from her. Hermione never failed or got second best.
Alas, tests were never her specialty, and though she showed great promise in class and rule biding, her test results were average at best. The only class she had exactly exceeded in was potions, and she was quick to harbour an undying love for the subject.
Leona had failed to make her mark, but she remains undefeated, just how Hermione accomplished something great in her first year, she will do!

𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥:
•Leona is incredibly gifted at potions. She sees a potion as a puzzle and all the ingredients and instructions as puzzle pieces. It's really the only class she can actually match Hermione in, if not beat her in. Not only that, but she has come to like Snape as a teacher, not viewing him with the same disdain as other students seems to do.
•She's been known to experiment in the Ravenclaw common room which usually ends with a splash or explosion rather than inventing a new potion concoction.
•Cursed with the granger bushy hair, she usually has some kind of hair resisting mechanism in her hair. Aka a hairband.
