Chapter 6
A/N This chapter is a scene I pictured in my mind, and was pretty much the reason I wrote this. I don't think I could do the scene justice with words, I really struggled with it. But, I'm on a roll, and I don't wanna stop yet so, let's keep going!
"Reggie!" Julie jumped up from her place on the couch as soon as she saw him and gave him a big hug. Willie poofed in a few seconds after them. "How did you guys convince Caleb to let him go?"
"We didn't." Alex said, glumly. "Reggie can only be here on Fridays and Saturdays. At midnight on Saturday, he'll pull him back to the Hollywood Ghost Club."
Julie nodded, her face pale. "That's what she said would happen."
Everyone furrowed their brows at her.
Julie took a deep breath and explained.
Julie had just said goodbye to Alex, Luke and Willie who left to try and meet with Caleb. She kept standing up and sitting down and pacing and fidgeting, scared of what might happen, and what might've already happened. She buried her head in her hands, rubbing at her face. When she looked up she was staring at a beautiful brunette girl with blue eyes.
Julie scrambled backwards and over the back of the couch in fear. The girl sensed it and held out her hands, trying to be as non-threatening as possible.
"Sorry, sorry, I thought you would've been used to ghosts poofing in by now!" She apologized.
"Who are you? Why are you here? Are you one of Caleb's?" Julie asked, eyes wide.
"I don't think I should tell you who I am, in case I'm wrong and Reggie isn't allowed out. You can call me Violet for now. But if he comes back, just tell him the names Lexi, Lulu, and Gina, he should understand who I am, and then he'll tell you everything. If he doesn't want to, tell him he has to, it's gone on long enough."
Julie stopped trying to press herself up against the wall in an attempt to get away from her. "You know Reggie?"
"Yes. Caleb's plan is to let Reggie stay here twice a week, on Fridays and Saturdays, and then be at the Hollywood Ghost Club the rest of the week."
Julie tilted her head. "What would he do at the Hollywood Ghost Club?"
Violet smiled softly. "Teach the children music. When kids come back as ghosts, it's sometimes really had to figure out what their unfinished business was, so we try to teach them music to see if that's what they were supposed to do for the world and why they came back as ghosts. It worked once, Caleb was able to get people to hear her sing, and now Sofia is on the other side, and hopefully at peace. It's probably the only good thing I've seen Caleb do. And the only reason why I stay willingly. Reggie is also allowed to perform at night shows, we have them once or twice a week. He actually just performed tonight. It was interesting to see him solo after watching Sunset Curve."
"As a bassist?'
She shook her head. "As a singer."
Julie's mind was reeling from the information. "So why are you here?"
"Mostly just to let you know beforehand so you can learn to trust me, but also get you to make Reggie tell his bandmates what he's been meaning to tell them since way before they died. And because I wanted to meet you. I've only met Luke and Alex twice, but I've seen many of their shows. But I've never met you. I've seen your videos online, though, and you're an amazing singer."
"Thank you." Julie replied, still in shock, but wanting to stay polite with the woman.
"I need to go before Caleb gets back, it was nice to meet you, Julie, and I sincerely hope the deal works out."
Violet took a step back and disappeared. Julie breathed out in shock. She walked back around to the front of couch and paced for a couple minutes before sitting back down, just as the trio poofed back in with Willie a few seconds after.
Reggie had been holding his breath since the moment Julie said those 3 names. Lily. She was right, and he had wanted to tell them everything but it was hard.
When Julie finished, Luke immediately asked the one question he didn't want to answer. "What was the ghost talking about?"
