Chapter 5
A/N If you were wondering, yes, Lily is based on Carolynn Shada, Reggie's actor's wife, who used to be a ballerina for the Los Angeles Ballet Studio, but now designs and illustrates for her husband. I'm trying to post more regularly, so this is my step in the right direction.
Reggie followed Caleb to a room with a red couch and several red armchairs where Willie was sitting fidgeting. He jumped up when he saw Caleb and Reggie enter and gave Reggie a weak smile.
Reggie did his best to smile back, but he knew it was just as weak. Nothing about this was smile-worthy. Except, of course, seeing Lily again.
"Hello Willie, nice to see you back." Caleb said, smirking a bit.
"Alex and Luke want to meet you on Darkwood Beach. To talk." Willie stuttered out.
"OK. Works for me. Reggie, could you go find Lily and-"
"With Reggie." Willie interrupted.
Caleb turned back around from looking at Reggie. "I suppose we can arrange that too." Caleb grasped Reggie wrist and poofed out with Reggie.
It was late, so Reggie must have been at the Hollywood Ghost Club for about 24 hours. He recognized the beach as the one where they first played music after they came back. And he recognized the two ghosts in front of him as his best friends and bandmates, Alex and Luke.
"Reggie!" Luke called as soon as he saw him. "Are you OK?"
"No, dude, I'm dead." Reggie snorted. "But am I OK in my death-ness? Yeah, sure."
Alex looked confused, but was trying not to question it any further.
"What do you want with him?" Luke demanded, aiming his next question at Caleb.
"Nothing much. It's more directed at your whole group. If I have Reggie, you can't play and you can't make a move against me. But, I wouldn't want to completely ruin your afterlives, so here." Caleb snapped a bracelet on Reggie's wrist. "This bracelet allows me to pull ghosts back to the Hollywood Ghost Club whenever I want, and it tracks them. And stops them from being able to poof out if I don't want them to. But, it also allows ghosts come and go out of the club whenever they want. He's free to stay with you on Fridays and Saturdays, but he stays at the Ghost Club on all other days. Deal?"
Alex and Luke glanced at each other briefly. Alex took the lead and told him, "Deal. It's Saturday so we get him now."
Caleb nodded and gestured at Reggie to join them. He took a few steps towards them and then turned around to watch Caleb poof out. As soon as he was gone, he turned back around a gave the two negotiators a massive hug.
"Where's Julie?" He asked when he finally pulled back from the hug.
Luke smiled and told him, "She's back at the garage, we weren't sure if we could poof with her yet, and we figured, we'd want to try when we had you back with us. Come on, let's go, you can tell us everything."
