Chapter 9
Roman's POV
After their hot session together, Lana had told Roman she had to go because she had some paperwork on the businesses she owned (Roman didn't know how many there were other than the restaurant chain) and they had reluctantly parted ways.
Lana was something else. Her wisdom and personality was the reason Roman loved her amongst many other things. And then there was this sexy, unbearably hot side of Lana that turned on every nerve end in his body like Christmas lights. Everything about her called to him. If other people didn't see her, Roman would think that Lana did not exist at all with her being a woman of his dreams and all. Yeah she was surreal.
And he was a lucky bastard to call her mate.
Today was Friday and there were no classes tomorrow. Roman wanted to see her on the weekend as well so he decided to text her. They had exchanged numbers before Lana leaving the university earlier today.
'Any plans for the weekend?' Roman texted.
Lana's reply text came after a minute.
'Nothing that cannot be cancelled for a certain black haired handsome.'
This flirting side of Lana was very unusual and Roman could tell that she didn't do this with everyone (jealous side of him approved this). Being on the receiving end of her attention and this treatment made Roman feel special.
'Then would you do me the honour of cancelling your plans to go to the cinema with me, My Lady?' Roman asked.
'Well, yes of course my dear knight I would be delighted.' Lana replied. She was playing along to his formal diction with a medieval theme. Which made Roman wonder if Lana had actually met knights before.
Great. His competition was the memories of honourable, gentlemen in white shining armour. His jealousy rose to the surface as Roman imagined men on horses with strong figures like a warrior competing for Lana's hand in marriage. Then Lana and a knight riding a horse towards the sunset. Shit! His mind was seriously cruel, thinking things like that, torturing him.
'And you're taking her to the cinema. Great plan Romeo, great plan.' Roman's wolf spoke up, ridiculing him.
'Well, if I had a wolf who offered to help instead of making fun of me, I could come up with something better!' Roman replied back. 'You know she is your mate too right?'
'Of course she is mine. If I had a chance I wouldn't share her with you either. But we are one, so I have to suck it up.' Roman's wolf replied.
'I would love to reply to that comment of yours but I think I just figured out how to step up my game.' Roman said.
Then he got working thinking his newest idea through.
Cinema was nice, a go-to for any regular date. But Lana wasn't a regular date. And he knew deep down that Lana was probably not a person that would care a single bit about schematics, she would probably be fine with simple and ordinary but Roman didn't want that.
He wanted Lana to get the extraordinaire and he was prepared to try his best to achieve that.
Her love for knowledge spurred his thoughts for a new date. The location of it was a bit far away but it would definitely be worth it. Roman called the place in his mind, making sure that there was an event taking place tomorrow, Saturday evening. After making sure and signing up his and Lana's name to that schedule, he texted Lana.
'Change of plans. Date is still on but not cinema. I'll text you the address tomorrow night and we'll meet up there.'
Lana had agreed to his change of plans and Roman hadn't sent her the address until it was time for their date so it would remain a secret.
The next bit that Roman had to do was still making him cringe long after it took place. This was going to scar him for the rest of his life and haunt him in his darkest nightmares but he was desperate. He hadn't had any other choices.
Roman had asked Trevor to help him dance.
Trevor had also signed up for dancing lessons along with the latin classes at the university, again quoting his motto: 'everything for ladies'.
Roman had accepted to go to latin with him but dancing... that was where he had drawn the line. And now he was at Trevor's mercy.
Of course at first when Roman had asked for his help through clenched teeth with his dignity no where in sight, Trevor had been laughing his ass off on the floor of their apartment with tears in his eyes. Roman had had tried so hard not to kick Trevor's hysterical form in the stomach while he was doubling in on himself.
When finally, after an eternity had passed, and Trevor had finished laughing, he had settled back on to the couch and with a quote from Loki mixed with a weird godfather impression Trevor had said, "You must be truly desperate to come to me for help." And then adding "I bet you are kicking yourself right now because you didn't take those dancing lessons huh? I bet ya do." And he had gone on and on for a while like that.
But eventually he had stopped with his remarks and had agreed to help him 'dazzle' his woman. Trevor's words not Roman's.
They had moved the table in the living room to have space for dancing. Trevor had been showing the steps and making Roman repeat them after him. The thing that Roman was doing was apparently not stepping but more like stomping according to Mr. Dancing With The Stars.
"You have to be smooth my boy! Or you'll squish the feet of your dancing partner." Trevor had chastised Roman.
Roman had actually took dancing lessons in middle school. It was mandatory to attend those classes because the school was getting them ready for their prom. He hadn't been good back then either. A braced girl named Pam was the witness and her bruised feet were evidences to that fact.
By then, Trevor had given up expecting Roman to repeat his movements and taken the role of the woman partner. "Put your hand on my waist." Trevor had said as he took Roman's left hand in his own.
"Hell no!" Roman had replied.
"Do you want to dance with your mate or not?" Trevor had asked fiercely right in front of Roman's face.
Roman had kept chanting 'I am doing this for a good cause, I am doing this for a good cause.' In his head as he had held Trevor by the waist and they danced together. 'Remember why you are doing this' he told himself over and over. And the fact that Roman's wolf was snickering and watching the scene before him unfold like he was on vacation was truly not helping.
Roman was repeatedly stepping on Trevor's foot and Trevor was hitting him on the back of his head telling him to be careful every time Roman took a wrong step. "I am a lady and I want to be treated with respect." Trevor had told Roman in a high girlish tone, clearly deep in character now.
To the ends of this nightmarish ordeal, Roman was no where near good, he was still occasionally stepping on Trevor's feet. Trevor was murmuring something under his breath that sounded like, "I hope her feet are made out of steel" and when Roman had asked what was that, Trevor had smiled while making thumbs up with both of his hands saying, "You're going to do great".
And then Trevor had made his way to the kitchen while murmuring under his breath, "Its a good thing he didn't sign up for those dancing lessons, they would have murdered him anyways, claiming that he was an abomination after they had seen him dance."
Then came the sound of the freezer compartment of the refrigerator opening and closing. Trevor had came back into the room with a blue ice pack in his hands, plopped down on to the couch, stretched his legs on to the table and laid the pack on his feet.
When Trevor sat back on the couch and saw Roman looking at him, he made the same expression as before accompanied with two thumbs up. "Like I said, you're going to do just great."
****
I had so much fun writing this chapter.
Yes it is perfectly normal to ship Roman and Trevor.
They are already like two old bickering married couple living together.
Thanks dearies, comment because I like hearing your opinions and reactions <3
