Chapter Nineteen
~Y/N POV~
The library is one of the many places I find peace to think clearly and just be myself while I bury my head in books that peak my interest.
I found myself on the second floor of the library where I was once here before with Taehyung except this time I didn't come with him. I came alone and chose a book that I wanted to read the most about angels and demons. I've always been interested in that subject to I wanted to have a browse and since then I haven't been able to take my eyes off the pages.
It's very old so I have to be careful with this book so I delicately turn each page so I don't risk breaking it.
The library is quiet today, more so then usual but that's okay, the more silence the better in my opinion. None of those young teenagers that come in here trying to hook up in the back stalls that Namjoon has to chase away. It's funny to see him do that but it's rather annoying.
"Hey Y/n what are you reading?"
Upon hearing Namjoons voice I gasped with fright, one hand over the heart as I twisted my upper body to face him behind me.
"Namjoon you scared me."
A guilty expression rose up on his face and came to stand next to me, pulling up a chair to sit down.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to frighten you." Namjoon
I waved him off, turning my body back to face forward once again now that my friend was sitting next to me but I noticed the way his eyes lingered on the old book in front of me curiously.
"What are you reading?" Namjoon
I shrugged at him just a little bit.
"Just some old book on angels and demons. So far I'm reading about their so called pairs. Its rather fascinating if you ask me."
I smiled at him which he returned when his eyes flickered from the book to my face and then back to the old pages.
"I see. You're interested in that type of thing then? Angels and demons?" Namjoon
I nodded eagerly.
"I am. I'm surprised I didn't tell you that sooner."
A little frown appeared across my face for a split second but seeing his dimpled smile made that all go away when I couldn't fight the urge to not smile back at him.
"You might of told me but I may have forgotten. Is there anything there you didn't know before?" Namjoon
Again I nodded and turned back to the book, grazing my fingers along the top of the pages carefully as if it's the most priceless thing ever to have existed in my life.
"Yes I've learned more about angels coming down to earth. I mean I knew they would of their own free will to have a normal life it's just a shame that they can be looked down on before they're angels."
It was a sad thought and even the sad look upon Namjoon's face matched my own as he nods it gave me a spark within myself knowing he shares the same views as I do.
"It really is a shame. Not all angels are selfish and rude. They can be kind, gentle and they sacrifice a lot for what they love." Namjoon
"They really do. You don't happen to know any angels do you?"
Namjoon's brows raised stunned and he sat up straight pointing to his chest.
"Me? No never. I would like to though but nope. What about you?" Namjoon
The distant memory I have of being saved my a stranger when I was young from a speeding car came by my memory as I thought to myself.
"I think I may have once before but I'm not entirely certain. I was very young and I don't remember that mans face."
"Is that what created your liking for angels?" Namjoon
I nodded with a light smile.
"Yes. Ever since that day I've always had this thing with angels. I like to think of them as good people even if I may have not personally met one."
Namjoon nodded, propping his elbow onto the table and gazed at the pages of the book and pushed up his glasses from falling off the edge of his nose.
"But what about demons? That book has thing about demons in there doesn't it?" Namjoon
Quickly I glanced at the book and nodded.
"It does but I haven't read that much about them just yet. Just a brief explanation about them imprinting on either other demon, angels or even humans but it's mainly humans they imprint on and that's like a curse."
A deep frown formed upon Namjoon's face. I don't know why but he just expressed himself that way and then balled up his fist that was resting on the table.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah. I'm good. What else does it say about demons?" Namjoon
Clearing his throat he leaned in closer almost over my shoulder to peer into the pages of this old book. I just took a subtle small breath and focused my attention back on the book.
"Not much so far, like I said that's the only thing I have read about them so far. I'm thinking of taking this home so I can read it more. There's other books that specialise more on just demons if you would like to read them in your spare time?"
I pointed behind him towards the very old shelf that holds all the books. Namjoon's raised both brows and turned over his shoulder curiously to see where I was pointing off too but he stood up after when he see the shelve and wondered over to it, bending down slightly to read the titles of each book.
I just left him too it and went back to reading my book that was very interesting but definitely I was going to be taking it home with me tonight and I'll finish reading it at home. So far this book has so much on demons and angles but I might take another two books that solely focus on either a demon or angel.
Maybe what I keep seeing in the mirrors and through windows are demons?
But if they are why are they coming after me?
