Chapter 23: ERCHOMAI

Jasper POV

"What hell does this mean?" Emmett calls and we all turn to see him holding a piece of paper in his hand.

We all move and look over his shoulder to see one word on the piece of paper. But it was in a language none of us knew, except maybe the Shadowhunters and Warlock with us.

ERCHOMAI

"It means, 'I am coming,'" Jace says. We turn to him, he looks grim.

"Who?" Rose asks.

"Sebastian sent that not to long ago. Apparently, he came and got part of what he wanted," he explains. He watches our faces and I blink as everything starts to click.

"Wait," I start slowly. "You mean, Iain is working with, or for Sebastian. And part of what he wants is Bella. But there's still something else," I say.

Jace nods and plops down on the couch. "It's not something, it's someone's," he corrects.

"So you mean, " Edward starts.

"That Sebastian wants you and Clary too," Alice finishes. Jace nods.

"But why?" Esme asks. Jace sighs.

"Well, you all know Sebastian is Clary's brother and that Valentine Morgenstern was their father. Sebastian wants Clary because she's his sister. He wants me because I've got Heavenly Fire in me and that can kill him," Jace explains. Heavenly Fire? Inside him?!

What the hell?

"What the hell?" Emmett asks voicing my thoughts exactly. Jace sighs and slumps lower into the chair, running his hands over his face.

"Heavenly Fire, was in the sword called Glorious. The sword was infused with the heavenly fire. Striking an enemy with it will burn the evil out of him or her; however, if the enemy is more evil than good, in the case of demons, then it will also burn the life from them."

"So," Carlisle started, you could practically see the cogs turning in his head, "you got stabbed and somehow the Heavenly Fire is now a part of you."

We looked at Jace and watched as he nodded. Our eyes practically bulged out of our heads. Was he evil before?

"Were you evil before?" I ask voicing my thoughts. Jace shakes his head.

"Sebastian had some kind of hold over me thanks to Lilith. So I guess you could say I was kinda evil for a short point in time," he says.

"Lilith," Carlisle breaths in shock. Jace nods.

"Clary stabbed you, didn't she," Alex states for the first time.

"Sure did," Clary says entering the house followed by Xena, and a pale guy with messy brown hair and eyes. He's as tall as Clary and wore a t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Something seemed off about him.

"Jeez, this place keeps getting weirder and weirder," Emmett states, seeming to remember the demons we fought as he stares at the pale guy.

Clary glances at him, "There's only one thing you need to know. All the stories are true. Everything you've heard about monsters, the nightmares, the legends whispered by campfires. They're all real. Real and terrifying," she says as her eyes glaze over seeming to remember something.

"Groovy," Emmett mutters.

Clary rolls her eyes before her expression changes. Jace jumps to his feet and is over to her in a blink.

"What's wrong?" he asks. She swallows.

"Another Institute has been attacked. The one in London. All Institutes have been sent a fire message to come immediately to Idris. The Blackthorn children were questioned and I talked to Emma Carstairs who is close to the Julian Blackhorn. She gave me some information, and I know where Sebastain is."

"Where?!" Jace asked.

Magnus, Alec, and Isabelle stood and watched Clary.

Clarys mouth twitched, "Edom."

"What?!" Magnus, Alec, Isabelle, and Jace burst. Clary nodded wearily.

"Edom?" Alex asked. They nodded.

"In other words, Hell," Jace says glancing over at us. We glance at each other. Oh joy.

I finally updated!!! Yay! I am awesome! *throws confetti* Anyway, I had some motivation because I read City Of Heavenly Fire!! BAM! I loved that book. Took me three days to read that 725 page thing.

Anyone else read it yet?? How long did it take you??

Also, there will be stuff from City Of Heavenly Fire, starting with this chapter and chapters from now on. But I'm not gunna say what the spoilers are for those who haven't read the book. :) Those who have, I'm sure you'll recognize the facts.

Anyway, I had a weird dream about the world ending and grass flew from the ground sticking to anything metal, and Alec was in it! Weird O.o
