Routines
Everyday since then, Jake would pick me up from Charlie's, school, anywhere, and I would do the same, though I didn't always know where he was like he did.
He talked to Charlie about me going back to school and Charlie infuriatingly agreed. I hated Jake after that, I even fantasized about slapping him.
I had my normal routine again.
Ever since I began hanging out with Jake, I felt...alive and that made me terrified. I didn't really know why.
Today was study day for Jake. He's been getting behind on homework and school because he's always in the garage or with me.
"Jake, come on!" Today, I was the one who was on time, which was different because I was always late.
"I'll be there in a minute!" Jacob was still getting ready for school or rather stalling for the last twenty minutes. Ten minutes ago he said the same exact thing, so I went up to his room.
"What the hell is taking you so long?!" I stood in the doorway with my arms crossed.
"Bella! What the hell?" I mistakenly walked in the room to see him...half dressed...
"Oh, my god!" I stood there frozen and at lost of thought of what to do.
Bella, get the hell out of there! What are you doing staring at him like a imbecile? My mind screamed at me.
I ran out of there like my life depended on it. What the hell is wrong with me?! Why didn't I listen to him and wait?!
My heart was pounding rapidly right now. Great. Calm down, Bella. There's nothing to be nervous about...yeah right...I was a mess...
I started pacing around the living room waiting for Jake, who just ignored me and walked to my truck. I followed him, fuming and gritting my teeth. Why was he ignoring me? I'm not the one who got us late and couldn't remember where he put his clothes!
Jacob and I sat in the car and drove in silence. It surprisingly didn't bother me but Jake on, the other hand, couldn't stay still. He kept tapping his foot and looking at me every five minutes.
"Can you calm the fuck down?" I glared at him.
"Keep your eyes on the road!" Jacob crossed his arms and pouted like a ungrateful child.
"Suck it up, ok! It's not my fault you took too long." I mumble.
"It kind of is. I told you to wait. We're not really that late." Jake shrugged.
"We are two hours late!" I glared at the road.
"Well. Not my fault..."
I internally growl.
He.is.so.infuriating!
"Can you do me a favor?"
"What?"
"Shut the hell up!" I heard Jake sigh and saw him sink in his seat. Now I can get some quiet time for the next twenty minutes.
We finally got to the school after all the unusual traffic. I parked my car in its usual spot infront of the building and we both get out. I heard Jake's door slam and I sighed. Well there goes my morning.
We walked into the office to get our tardy slips when Jake immediately stopped and pulled me behind him.
"Jake. What are you doing?" Jake was as still as stone.
Why was he acting like this?
I glanced over his shoulder to see what he was looking at, and I too, froze.
Edward Cullen stood a few feet from us, his family standing behind him. Their faces a familiar impasive stone mask.
