Edward drove me to the restaurant in Port Angeles. I couldn't seem to sit still. I kept fidgeting and looking around me. Edward on the other hand, stood as still as stone while he drove. He never took his eyes off the road. I guess immortality grants you endless patience.

By the time we pulled up to the curve of the building, Jess was standing by the car with a afraid and irritated expression. Uh oh.

Edward stopped the car and turned off the engine. I jumped out the car, and sped to Jessica. When she saw me, the irritation and relief became more announced.

"Bella! Where the hell have you been?!"

"I was taking a walk to clear my head and I got lost. Then I ran into Edward." I explained as I motioned to the man beside me.

Edward came up behind me and smiled at Jess.

"Good afternoon, Jessica." He said politely.

"You, too." She froze.

"So, what did I miss?" I wondered.

"Well, Mike never showed so I sat there for hours waiting for you or him. It was a waste of my time." Jess complained.

"I'm sorry. He said that he would come. I don't know what happened." I Sighed.

"Well, I should go. You two can catch up." Edward started to leave.

"Wait!" I yelled before I could stop myself.

He turned around. "Yes?"

"Um...Stay. We don't mind, right Jess?" I turned to her.

She quickly shook her head and smiled.

"Come on." I led them both into the restaurant.

The inside was half filled but really quiet, which was good for me. The sign that you saw when you first entered read "please seat yourself and we will be with you shortly."

We found a booth that was in the corner of the restaurant and not really close to the other people. I sat by the window and Edward sat next to me, a little too close which, made me feel uncomfortable, but didn't seem to bother him. Jessica sat on the other side and stared out the window the entire time. Jessica was never quiet so this worried me a little. Was she mad that Mike didn't show?

"Don't worry about it. She'll be fine." Edward whispered low enough for only me to hear.

"I thought you couldn't read my thoughts!" I hissed.

"It's getting clearer." He chuckled.

I groaned. "Jessica--"

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me, Bella. Maybe we just weren't meant to be dating in the first place." She continued to look though the window.

"Don't talk like that. Of course you guys were meant for each other. It's just complications and drama that's all." I lied. I have no idea what I'm talking about.

"Don't lie to me Bella." She muttered.

She knows me too well. I've never been the best liar. I think I got worst rather than better. My phone chimed and I had to fish through my purse to find it.

Mike: Sorry I can't make it....I have something to do.

Bella: Really, Mike? Your blowing us off for what?

Mike: I just can't be there, OK?! Don't pressure or make me come. Bye.

Son of a bitch. Well, I don't know that to tell Jess but maybe she was right. Mike was a complete imbicile and a jerk. She deserves better.

"Just tell her. It can't get any worse than it already is." Edward whispered like he saw our whole conversation. He was such a cheater.

"Jess...He's not coming." I whisper.

She was quiet for a while. I didn't say anything, I just let her process what I said and work though it.

"I knew it."

"Look, I didn't--"

"I know. It's his fault not mine. And you know what?" She suddenly faced me with a serious expression.

"What?" Me and Edward echoed each other.

"We're done." Jess sat up and ran out of the restaurant.

"Jessica!" I tried to follow her but Edward pushed me back.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I hissed.

"You need to leave her alone." He didn't seem frazed by me trying to push him out.

"I don't give a fuck." I tried to push him out of the way again and then ran after Jess.

I reached the curb by the line of cars outside the building. I looked back and forth for Jessica but I didn't see her.

She was gone. I don't think I know exactly where she went.

But I had a strong feeling I knew who she went to.
