Chapter 10
Jimin pov
"I'll see you later Jimin!" Naeyeon yelled as I got out of her car. I had her drop me off a few blocks away from my house so I could think by myself. Naeyeon was right. I'm suppose to help my brother no matter how big of a jerk he was. He was my brother and I loved him no matter what he thought of me. I just wish I knew what happened and how he got there. I didn't know anything. I've been left in the dark for years.
"Jiminie wait upppp!" I heard someone yell behind me. I groaned and turned around as I was tackled to the floor. "YOURE NOT ALLOWED TO HATE ME JIMINIEEEE PLEASE FORGIVE MEEEEEEE!" Taehyung yelled crying. I rolled my eyes as people stared passing by. "If you want to talk can we talk somewhere where everyone's not staring at us for being crazy?" I whispered. He nodded pulling me up with him. "Lets go to my house," he said. "Why? Are you gonna bring my brother and everyone else with us?" I asked. "No.... not yet anyway," he said. I sighed, "whatever I've had a long day so I don't really care anymore." He smiled as I was dragged by him over to his house.
I flopped down on his couch not knowing what to do anymore. "Sooo.... you got a job huh?" Taehyung asked. I stared at him. "Wowww.... how'd you know?" I asked sarcastically. He sighed, "listen I just want to lighten the conversation," he muttered. "I'd feel better if you just told me stuff," I said. He nodded. "Fine... lets start from where I came in. Remember that day we met?" He asked. I thought back to it.
*flashback*
"Jimin when are you gonna stop being such a nerd?" The student sitting behind me asked. I ignored them as I finished my homework for the next week. I was already halfway done with highschool. Just a few more years. "Yah I was talking to you!" He yelled pushing me out of my seat. I hit the floor hard feeling sore. "Yah who do you think you are?" I heard the bully say. I peered over the desk seeing some new kid holding the boy's wrist. "Didn't your parents ever teach you to mind your own business?" The kid asked. "Let me go!" My classmate yelled. The kid let go and pushed him into the wall. The bell rang signaling the day was over. My classmate quickly grabbed his bag and ran out, while his friends followed. I packed up my books quietly not daring to look the kid in the eye in case he was just deciding to be mean to everyone. "Does he do this a lot?" I heard his voice say. His voice was much deeper than I thought. He looked a lot like a flower boy just a little scarier. I nodded slinging my backpack around my back. "My name's Taehyung, but you can call me Tae or V," he said sticking out his hand. I nodded smiling, "My name's Jimin but trust me you don't want to be my friend. I'm a loser. You'd be better off with the other flower boys. But thanks anyways," I said. He laughed, "Yeah well after that I doubt they're going to like me very much. I'd rather take my chances with you." I grinned, maybe I had actually just made a friend? We walked home together and talked. He didn't talk very much about himself but I had never had a friend so I had plenty to talk about
*end of flashback*
It's been the same ever since, he's just gotten more stupid and idiotic as time has gone on. " Yeah I remember," I said. He nodded, "Well this is what really happened earlier that day...."
*flashback*
" Jhope you're going to stand guard while Yoongi hacks into their security cameras. Namjoon you will listen to their conversation and figure out who's going to be their new leader. Once you do report it to me, got that?" The boss said as the other three nodded. Tae raised his hand. "Yes V?" Jin sighed. "What am I going to do?" He asked. Jin stared at Tae. "Nothing. There's nothing you can do," he said coldly. Tae got mad, "come on boss I never get to do anything. I never go on missions. Just give me one thing to do. That's it," Tae whined. Jin's phone rang. "I have to take this," he said leaving the room. "Who do you think that is?" Namjoon asked. "Probably that brother of his," Yoongi said. "I wish he took my calls that quick. I have to call at least 5 times to get through to him," Namjoon sighed sadly. "I still don't understand why you have a crush on the boss. You don't know his name, or what he looks like under that mask. Not to mention he's a jerk who doesn't even like us," Yoongi said rolling his eyes. Namjoon folded his armed pouting as the boss came back in. "You three go complete your mission, Taehyung I do have a mission for you," he said. Taehyung nodded excitingly as the others left. Jin stared at the door making sure it was shut. He pressed a button that automatically shut off all of the security cameras in the room. He leaned in close to Taehyung. "This mission is very and I mean very important. If you mess it up somehow you won't wake up the next morning got that?" He said. Taehyung nodded quickly, terrified because he thought he would be going behind enemy lines or something. "My brother is my most prized possession. Now that I'm the leader I realize he's in more danger than ever. Everyone else is busy so that means you're finally going to be of use to me," Jin said to Taehyung. "So I'm going to have to watch some kid?" Tae asked. "He's your age. You're going to transfer to his school and protect him. You're going to become his bestfriend," Jin said giving a devilish smirk. "I don't even know him how am I suppose to become friends with some random kid. Also My dad made me drop out of school in 6th grade I can't just jump back in," Tae argued. "If it's too hard for you than go back to doing nothing. I'll find someone else to do it," Jin said frankly uninterested. Tae thought for a moment, "fine. But I'm not gonna like it and I'm not gonna like him," Tae said being petty. "Then don't like him. He's way smarter than you are anyways," Jin said getting on his computer. Tae gasped feeling hurt.
*end of flashback*
"Let me get this right. So you only became my friend because you were tired of being the loser of the gang?" I said astonished. Tae nodded sadly. "In fact I didn't even like you at first. I thought you were some annoying nerdy know it all. In fact I was going to quit after the first day..."
*flashback*
Tae came barging through the boss' door. "I can't do this boss. He's soooo boring. Like more boring than Namjoon when he talks about you!" Tae screamed. Namjoon walked over to him and punched him in the arm before sitting down across From yoongi to finish his game of go fish. Tae held his arm as he walked over to Jin's desk. "Guys get out of here me and Taehyung need to talk," Jin said as the other three left the room quickly. "What's the problem?" Jin asked. "Your brother is the most boring person I've ever met. All he talks about is books and dancing and you ughh," Tae said groaning. He noticed Jin's eyes went soft for a second. "That's my boring brother. Taehyung, Jimin isn't a gang kid. He didn't grow up like we did. I gave him a normal life so you have to accept the fact that his life isn't as action packed as yours. He is a nerd but he's one of the smartest kids I know. His iq might not be as high as Namjoon's but he has a big heart and he's going places. He doesn't have to live day to day like us. He has his whole life to look forward. You have to protect him for me. Can't you do that?" Jin asked. Watching Jin talk about his brother made Taehyung smile. Never had Tae's boss been so open and seem so easy going than when he talked about his brother right then. Tae nodded, "I'll give it another shot. He must be really special if you talk about him like that," Tae said before turning his back and leaving
*end of flashback*
I sat there with my mouth open before punching him in his arm as hard as I could. "Ow! What was that for?" He asked. "Oh I don't know maybe NOT EVEN LIKING ME WHEN WE MET. HERE I AM THINKING WE CLICKED WHEN WE FIRST MET BUT NOOO YOU COULDNT EVEN STAND ME," I yelled folding my arms. Tae rolled his eyes before patting me on the back. "That was just for the first few days. The more we talked the more interesting you became Jimin. Like Jin told me, we lived an entirely separate childhood. You got to do whatever you want and have fun as a kid. I was raised by the bestfriend of a gang leader my entire life. I was forced to drop out of school in 6th grade because my dad wanted me to focus on learning how to shoot guns and kidnap people. My life was chaotic but when you were raised that way it was the only way you know. I thought you were boring because you'd never even taken part in a hit and run that's how crazy my life was. Meeting you made me feel.... like a kid for once. Growing up being treated like an adult is hard. But when I met you I felt like an actual kid for once. That's why the me you know is crazy and fun. You're the only person I can be a kid around before I have to go be a scary gang member. You've shown me things I'd never of dreamt of experiencing as a kid. Like waterparks, birthday parties, sleep overs, movies, just hanging out. Just having a friend. I always thought I had friends but after meeting you I realized they were just other gang members. I didn't have to try to impress you or beat you in skills. I could be myself. Jimin I never want to lose you. Sometimes all people need is just one friend to keep them from ruining their entire life. I believe you are that friend to me Jimin. Whenever I think about making a mistake I think about you and it stops me. You mean the world to me Jimin I hope you understand," Tae said finally taking a breath. My eyes started to water. "Jiminie? Are you really crying right now?" Tae asked. "T-t-that's so beautiful," I whined as the tears started falling. "Y-y-you know I'm an emotional person," I continued crying. Tae patted me on the back. "I'll take that as a sign you forgive me," he smiled.
