Chapter 1

(3rd Person)

Inside the Killa residence, Lydia was standing right in front of a chalkboard wiping away the chalk writing that was on there previously. It appeared she was teaching English considering there were many sentences, some with faults and the rest were perfect. After she wiped the sentences away, she turned around to face the sofa where Mark and (Y/N) sat, (Y/N) with an open notebook and many, many notes in it whereas Mark had only a few in them and was staring at his mother with an expression of boredom.

Lydia: And that does it for today's English lesson boys, hopefully you'll know now how to spot the sublest of mistakes in English sentences now.

Mark: Yeah Mom, thanks for teaching us.

Lydia: No need for thanks little man, I'm always glad to teach you two. After all, you both specifically requested not to join any kind of public school. (Y/N), your reason for not attending is understandable, and Mark... as much as I support you looking out for him, I'm sure (Y/N) doesn't want you ruining any chance for a successful future just for him.

Mark: Heh, well, tough! Whatever happens, I'll never abandon him. (Y/N)'s my best friend, and he's the best friend everyone could wish for. I'd be stupid to let him get away, plus... even if I don't understand your situation personally, I'm always there for ya buddy.

(Y/N) sighed, but nodded his thanks with a wide smile. Lydia couldn't help but throw her son a massive proud smile at seeing how willing he was to make sure he was by his best friend's side all the time, even if that meant it would inconvenience him. The moment however was interrupted by the door slamming open.

???: (Y/N)! Let's go!

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as they heard the energetic Mina Ashido making her presence known, she skipped over to the sofa, leaning on the back with her chin in her hands as she smiled at the two.

Mina: Hi (Y/N)! Hi Mark!

Mark: Energetic as ever, huh?

(Y/N): 'It's good to see you'.

Mina: Huh?

Mark: Oh, right, forgot you can't understand sign language. He's saying it's good to see you.

Mina: Isn't it!? Because now I'm gonna make sure your boring lesson doesn't get you down, today we have a whole day of fun planned! And you mister are the VIP!

Mark: What about me?

Mina: Meh, you have enough fun when we're not around, as for (Y/N), he can only have fun when his real best friend is around!

At that remark, Mark grew a tick mark. His eyes closed as they twitched along with a forced smile as he slowly stood up, clearly irritated by Mina's claim.

Mark: Really? His real best friend? I find that hard to believe when (Y/N) and I have known each other for almost ten years now...

Mina: Huh? You think being with him for ten years automatically makes him your best friend? Maybe he's tired of being around only you, besides, I bet you from only the two months we've known each other that he and I are way more of best friends than you could ever dream!

Mark: Is that a challenge, Mina Ashido?

Mina: Why don't you try to find out, Mark Killa?

The two butted heads, dark auras coming off them as Lydia merely watched on both with a sweat drop and slight amusement.

Lydia: Uh, (Y/N), dear, would you mind...?

But, (Y/N) had already made his way into the kitchen, fishing out a lollipop from the cupboards causing Lydia to grow an even bigger sweat drop at seeing his blank face look back at her while a lollipop stick was hanging out his mouth. Mark and Mina took notice of (Y/N)'s disappearance and somehow knew he was in the kitchen, the two of them slid in, dark looks on their faces, that made (Y/N) merely turn to them, an expression of confusion as he continuously blinked while having the lollipop in his mouth.

Mark: (Y/N)...

Mina: Which of us is the better best friend!?

(Y/N) answered in sign language, Mark saw the opportunity and smugly grinned as Mina stared at him with anticipation.

Mark: He says: 'Of course it's you Mark! I'd never let Mina...'

He was quickly interrupted by (Y/N) bonking him on the head, shaking his head to show he was wrong, he then went over to the chalkboard, picking up the chalk before writing down on it. Mark's shoulders went down as (Y/N) put his answer down.

(Y/N): 'You two are my best friends, I can't choose between you two because I'd rather not make either of you sad'.

Mina also dropped her shoulders, the two of them feeling shame when (Y/N)'s expression turned to one of worry after writing down his answer. From behind them, Lydia smiled proudly once again before sticking a finger up to make an announcement.

Lydia: Well done (Y/N)! As a reward for such a mature answer and for being such a great student of mine, both in combat and intellect: we're going to head to the candy shop in town and you can pick out whatever you want!

Mark and Mina smiled widely at (Y/N)'s reaction, his eyes went big and sparkly while his lollipop fell out of his mouth, then he threw his hands up into the air while mouthing a 'yay' without making a single sound. Everyone saw just how cute that was and couldn't help but smile even wider at the young and small boy's excitement.

Lydia: Oh! But before I forget...

Lydia suddenly pulls out two pieces of paper from behind her, easily being seen as the same paper you would fill out to decide your future.

Lydia: You both need to decide on your futures after I've finished educating you, you can't stick with homeschool of Killa after all! Hahaha!

Mark: Homeschool of Killa? So lame...

Lydia: Aha, anyway... I expect you both to fill these forms out, and not leave them for the last moment, ok?

Mina: Oh! Oh! You two should sign up for U.A! That's where I'm going!

Mark: U.A? As fun and awesome as that sounds Mina... (Y/N) and I don't exactly have any reason to become heroes...

Mina: What!!!???? You're telling me you two don't ever want to be heroes? To save everyone, be famous and be adored by everyone!?

(Y/N): 'For me, it would be too troublesome since if I became popular I would be forced to talk sometimes...'

Mina: Yeah, I always wondered that... why don't you ever want to talk?

The room went silent at that, Mina instantly starting to regret the question as she feels like she stepped into a touchy subject, the proof being (Y/N)'s solemn expression as he looked away. But, that atmosphere was quickly gone from Mark's scoff.

Mark: Heh, if you don't know that, then you can't really call yourself his best friend now, can't you!?

Mina: Oh come on!! I don't need to know everything to be his best friend! I can still be a best friend regardless of any information missing!

Lydia: Oh my, there they go again. It's quite troublesome how they constantly fight over the 'best friend' status, isn't it?

(Y/N) nods while following Lydia out the door as the two continued to argue, they never noticed until they calmed down, finally realising that they were the only two in the house... oh, wait...

Yuki: Oh no... why do I have to be stuck with you two? Don't you two realise that even if you're his best friends, (Y/N) is going to be my husband so that makes us automatically closer than anyone else in the whole world!?

And thus, the arguing was reignited with Yuki now joining in on the arguing of who (Y/N)'s closest relationship belongs to.

(With (Y/N))

After they arrived, (Y/N) stood in front of the candy shop, a solemn look on his face as a massive closed sign was hung outside the door. Lydia started to panic slightly at seeing (Y/N)'s mood start to go down even more. Until she snapped her fingers, then crouched slightly to (Y/N)'s level.

Lydia: Wait here, I know exactly what to do!

And with that, Lydia ran off with (Y/N) tilting his head in confusion at her running figure. He turned back to the candy shop still with a solemn look on his face. Most kids would never have been left on their own at (Y/N)'s age without an adult, however, Lydia trained both her son and (Y/N) enough to know if any trouble involved itself with (Y/N) would quickly be resolved.

(Y/N) began thinking back, remembering the days after he first met Mina thanks to Yuki, as well as the days when he and Mark never even knew their birthdays. (Y/N) was only five when he met Mark, they met one day while playing in the park, Mark found (Y/N) after he'd tripped over a twig and bruised his knee. Mark brought (Y/N) to his mother and they helped make him feel better, since then, they'd constantly meet up in the nearby park all the time. As for Mina...

After talking to Mina (who was doing most of the talking with passionate chattering about U.A and being a hero), the two only began to talk more as Mina became more and more interested in (Y/N) and thought the only way to meet him was by visiting Mark's house... when she found out Mark wasn't a relative, and that he lived with another family she was confused as to why he didn't live in his own home. However, the only people who know his reasons for both refusing to talk and mostly being with the Killa family, even sleeping over their's are the Killa family themselves, apart from Yuki of course.

As (Y/N) was reminiscing, he noticed someone bump into him, apparently not noticing where they were going. Humming in curiosity, (Y/N) turned to the right, spotting a boy wearing a school uniform who had dropped a notebook which rested on the road. He noticed the boy's hair was similar to seaweed or maybe even broccoli while he rubbed his back from the impact with the sidewalk.

???: Ouch, did I walk into a brick wall while writing down the notes again?

However, the boy was surprised when he opened his green eyes to see a boy who was only a bit taller than him with (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes staring at him with a mixture of curiosity and concern. However, before anything could be said, they both heard a car about to pass them, with the boy's notebook about to get hit by it. He went wide-eyed, despair filling himself as he shut his eyes, refusing to watch his notebook's fate.

That was until he heard something land in front of him, he opened his eyes suddenly, to see his notebook safe and intact staring right at him. He was confused, and looked up to see the boy who he'd ran into look down at him and then extending a hand. His confusion instantly turned into relief, gratitude and a tiny bit of awe as he realised what just happened.

???: You just saved it, didn't you? You probably have some kind of speed quirk, thank you very much.

(Y/N) shook his head, starting to use sign language, until he realised that the boy probably didn't know how to... only to surprise him when the broccoli-haired middle-schooler began using his hands to talk with sign language, it made (Y/N) perk his head up slightly in surprise.

Midoriya: 'I can understand sign language, my name's Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you and thank you again for saving my notebook.'

(Y/N) breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at seeing another who could understand sign language.

(Y/N): 'Nice to meet you Midoriya, my name's (Y/N) (L/N), and no, that wasn't my quirk. I was just quick enough to get it before the car ripped the notebook apart'.

Midoriya grew a confused look, but it was quickly once again replaced with awe as he came to another conclusion.

Midoriya: 'Wow! You're that fast even without a quirk? You'd make a great hero (L/N).'

That stunned (Y/N) slightly, though he quickly sighed while shaking his head.

(Y/N): 'Sorry Midoriya, but I'm not interested in becoming one.'

Midoriya was so stunned he even stopped communicating through sign language.

Midoriya: What!!!??? How can you not think of wanting to become a hero!? It's like, everyone's dream... mine included...

(Y/N) instantly noticed his downed tone, he tilted an eyebrow curiously. Then he looked down at the notebook that was still on the floor, noticing it stated: 'Hero Analysis for the Future' and underneath it the number thirteen. He picked it up, flipping through the pages as he saw they were profiles of just about every hero you could think of, both new and old. Until Midoriya quickly snatched it out of his hands, flustered at the fact some stranger saw his geek hero knowledge.

Midoriya: You... must think I'm some sort of nerd now, right?

At that, (Y/N) shook his head, signing out his response.

(Y/N): 'Not at all, I find it quite admirable and smart that you've written down notes of every hero known'.

Midoryia: Really!?

(Y/N) nodded, a bright and comforting smile aimed at Midoriya who responded with a bright smile of his own, rubbing the back of his head. Only to be brought out of it when (Y/N) poked his shoulder to get his attention again.

(Y/N): 'About what you said before: you want to be a hero too, right? So, why is it you looked so down when you mentioned it?'.

Midoryia averted his gaze instantly, if the fact that he was a geek towards heroes didn't cause (Y/N) to make fun of him, it's this next piece of information that will. He nervously took a deep breath, closing his eyes and looking down, ready for the insults.

Midoriya: Well... that's because... every hero has a powerful or wonderful quirk that they use for being a heroic figure... but, turns out I'm nothing  more than a quirkless Deku...

He readied himself again for insults, and maybe even being beat up. However, he looked up when none of that happened, he only saw (Y/N)'s confused look as he signed another response.

(Y/N): 'Two things: One, why does being quirkless stop you from becoming a hero? And two, what does Deku mean?'.

Midoriya grew a face of disbelief, checking to see if the boy in front of him was messing with him. But, no sign of deception, just pure innocent confusion, it made him want to cry as he found someone who didn't judge him because of him being quirkless.

Midoriya: So... you think that...

Lydia: (Y/N)!!!

They both looked behind (Y/N) to see Lydia running towards them, panting while waving to get his attention. She stopped in front of them, placing her hands on her knees and continuing to pant out of exhaustion, (Y/N) patted her back in comfort which made Midoriya smile at seeing his possible new friend's kindness.

Lydia: Thanks... phew, anyway, I found a shop that sells sweets, it's not a sweet shop like this one so it'll have a limited range, however, it's the best I could...

(Y/N) nodded his thanks, and was about to  walk away with Lydia. Until he turned to Midoriya, staring at him for a few seconds before perking his head slightly, and idea in mind as he tugged on Lydia's sleeve.

Lydia: What is it sweetie?

(Y/N) pointed behind him, showing Midoriya to Lydia who was confused at first. But then grew a realised expression, nodding to herself.

Lydia: You made a new friend huh, and, you want him to come along, right?

(Y/N) nodded again, surprising Midoriya at what he was hearing. He was even more surprised when (Y/N) ran up to him, grabbing his hand and then dragging him away while Midoriya quickly placed his notebook back in his backpack.

Midoriya: W-w-wait!!! My Mom's probably thinking I'll be home by now!

But, Midoriya was happy, very happy as he smiled while looking at (Y/N) who continued to drag him along playfully while Lydia led the way. She was also smiling widely at (Y/N) who had made another new friend, it was... necessary since Mark wasn't going to be around forever after all. And she could easily tell that this boy was a great friend for (Y/N) to have. Midoriya meanwhile, was grateful that once again, he had someone he could call a friend.

To be continued...

(A/N): Chapter one done!!! I thought I should give you all a massive head's up that the first few chapters will focus on (Y/N) building a bond with his new friends (Mina and Midoriya), well... to be more precise, the next chapter will be about (Y/N) hanging out with Midoriya, and possibly meating Katsuki Bakugou (Who I've decided NOT to genderbend). After that, the events of Boku No Hero Academia will start, and (Y/N)'s motive for becoming a hero will also start on the very same chapter too! Anyways, thank you guys and gals so much for the continued support and as always: eat one or more brownies every day!!!!
