7.] Charles x Reader - ❝Lost?❞

[Listen to this for a more ''real-life'' experience :) Also, reader went to The Wall for... Well, genocide.]

TAKES PLACE AFTER CONVICTED ALLIES IN FtC

Requested by @KRI-COV tysm :)

(2nd POV for Reader only, dark and angsty. No art for this one since I've been drawing a lot, some personal art, some for this, so I'm taking break. That way I won't activate an art block... Nobody likes those.)

That was the biggest riot you've ever seen in The Wall. But right now, it didn't matter, because you were finally free.

The Wall was the most boring, most terrifying, and most angering place you've ever been in, and it might've actually gotten to you. You no longer feel the strange, murderous itch you felt whenever you were a near a person.

Which was good. You didn't want to see the death of another person ever again.

You held your chest and sighed as you leaned against a large, snowy tree in the depths of a forest. You ran away from The Wall like your life depended on it, and now, you were here. All alone, with no other former prisoner but yourself.

The feeling was lonesome and despondent... But you've felt it before.

Should I even explain how you've felt that feeling before? It was when you killed an entire family in one night.

Regret seeped into your mind as you thought about that horrendous, dark night. Were you even in control when you killed them?

A quiet, somber sigh left your lungs before you got up again. There has to be a way to the nearest refuge.

You walked through the empty forest, your mind swirling with thoughts and regret as snow pelted your head and clothes. Do you even deserve to leave The Wall after what you've done?

You stop in your tracks before looking back at The Wall, or at least a frame of what used to be The Wall.

Well, you left the wall, so there's no way of coming back. That was your choice, after all. And it was a permanent one.

"...No, I can't go back." You muttered to yourself, before quickly turning to walk away.

You were walking on the snowy road for a long, long time as you shivered due to the cold. You didn't see a single former-prisoner, since you might've been the slowest to leave.

Then suddenly, you hear a helicopter flying in the sky and look up.

It looked to be a dark green color, meaning it was probably some kind of military copter going to The Wall to see what damage had been done, or to try and stop any of the last prisoners from leaving.

This was a bad sign, a really bad sign. You should hide before it spots you... Nope, too late. It was headed straight for you.

You looked down at the ground and sighed before raising your hands in the air as the copter flew down.

Once the helicopter looked like it was stationed, a tall, masculine figure with headphones and jacket over his hoodie jumped out. He surprisingly had no weapons.
(Remember in the HCs that I said that Charles might have to take an extra jacket w/ him since his parka is too airy? Yeah, I'm basing it after that.)

"Hey there, Lost?" He asked as he walked over to you like he knew you. "Man, I thought all the prisoners hitched a ride on some of the vehicles in The Wall..."

"Who are you?" You asked defensively, pain seeping into your voice. "And are you gonna bring me back?"

He looked at your surprised, since he wasn't expecting you to be so serious.

"Ah, calm down. I didn't come here to do that anyways," He grabbed your hand which made you flinch. "Besides I'm just here to come pick up my friends. Wanna come with?"

You hesitantly jolted your hand away from the headphones man, and looked away.

"But I..." You mumbled, your voice unsure and upset.

The man looked at you concerned for a paused moment, before giving you a soft smile, which made you feel strangely at home. Who even is this guy?

"Hey, it's okay, we can talk about it with the General." He said kindly, putting an arm around your shoulder.

You looked up at him with a hurt expression. "Are you sure?"

He smiled brightly at you. "'Course we can! Oh, I almost forgot, Name's Charles, who're you?"

"...Y/N." You said back, smiling back at him.

After the two of you talked for a while, discussing certain things, (not your crime however. He can't know that yet.) You agreed to helping him with his mission and to find his friends.

After you put your seatbelt on next to him, you crossed your arms as you shivered. You were still wearing the simple short-sleeved tunic from when you were at The Wall.

"How do you like the helicopter? Got 'er when I first started out... Ah, good days." Charles sat next to you in the control seat, but before he put his seatbelt on, he glanced at you strangely, like he noticed something.

"Cold, huh?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.

You nodded. You had only been to The Wall for a month, so you weren't exactly used to the cold just yet.

He hummed in response before taking off his jacket and holding it out to you. "This hoodie's enough to not make me feel freezing cold anyways. Here."

You smiled at him happily before slipping the jacket over your shoulders, quickly warming you up. Maybe this guy isn't that bad.

  "Thank you." You said happily.

His face lit up energetically. "Your welcome! Now let's get a move on."

Charles turned on the helicopter, and soon, you were in the air. It felt magical to say the least, and new, and happy! This could be the beginning of a new life...

   A new life without murder.

"You sure you're fine joining the government with me? You know, you could just settle dow-"

  "Yes, yes I am!"
