Birth of a Hero - Season 1 - Chapter 20 (22)
Another chapter... Huh.
Anyway I would like to mention something, don't expect daily uploads or anything, I only wrote these chapters because I got the urge to and I didn't want to have them archived or just waiting because it feels... Disingenuous I guess.
Also when it comes to MC Vs. Nomu despite the MC having trained a lot he had a couple main reasons why he lost. First he was nervous and out of it. Second he is only using his Gravity Armor to push forces away not redirect them, he isn't good enough yet. Third the Nomu is stronger than in canon, the MC forgot about that thinking only it's quirks would be stronger.
Anyway Enjoy!

MC POV
The sound of beeping can be heard slowly echoing throughout the room.
Slowly waking up from my slumber I glance towards my left seeing curtains encompassing the bed I'm laying on.
Attempting to sit up my entire body shoots in pain as I let out a grunt falling back onto what I can assume to be a hospital bed.
Hearing the clanking of the metal pieces holding the curtain I glance once again to my left seeing Aizawa standing there a bunch of bandages around him, though his face seems to be ok.
"Morning kid", Aizawa sits at the of the bed.
"What happened?", my voice comes out weak and scratchy.
"You fought the Nomu and managed to hold it back".
I go to move my right hand but it hurts a bit to much, though I can move my right.
Managing to take of the cover I get a good look at my upper body, the entire thing covered in bandages and wounds, though not to many things that look like they will scar badly.
"Most of your damage is internal, you will have a couple scars most of which on your arms", he points to my arms which seem to have the most damage, "No permanent damage".
Nodding at his words I manage to sit up a bit.
"What exactly happened, I remember getting beaten into the floor... then nothing", my voice keeps it softness as I stare into his eyes.
"I see, maybe that's for the best", hearing this I give him a look of confusion.
Before I can ask my question the door opens as Recovery Girl walks into the room.
"It seems you two are enjoying yourself, but Aizawa what did I say", she walks over and smacks Aizawa on the leg lightly.
Aizawa sighs as he sit back down on his bed grumbling about "Overreacting".
"Good morning Y/n it seems you are doing better, though please refrain from overexerting yourself", she walks up to me with a soft and caring smile similar to Fuyumi.
"Alright... Thank you".
"It's simply my job to keep the youth like you alive, though please take better care of yourself you almost destroyed your own body", she walks around the room doing some stuff, before handing me what looks like medicine.
"What do you mean?", I take the medicine without resistance.
"Oh do you not remember, I suppose that's to be expected, well it's not my place to say as I wasn't there to see it all."
"Speaking of letting him know, do you mind if I show him?", Aizawa chirps up from the side as Recovery Girl glares at him.
She takes a moment before sighing, "Fine but he is return so I can go over a couple of things with him".
Aizawa nods and stands, "Can you walk kid?"
I shift my body managing to lift my self, though with a lot of difficulty.
"Ah! One moment", Recovery Girl moves the corner of the room before brining me one of my spears.
"This should work as a walking stick", I take it plant the tips towards the floor, flowing a small amount of my quirk it keeps it from scratching the floor.
"Thank you."
I give her a light nod as Aizawa guides me outside to his car, the car is what I can only assume to be expensive, though I never payed attention to cars.
About 30 minutes pass as Aizawa stops the car in front of the USJ
We walk inside, the door already open.
Glancing over the railing overlooking the entire room.
What was once a center fountain now looks to be a bloodied Warfield, the fountain nothing more than ruins left from a hard fought battle.
Craters are scattered everywhere, many of which have mass amounts of blood, the forest nearby is no better.
I take a look at the farther off areas seeing a crater in the side of the volcano, the rooftops of the cities completely destroyed, as well as a boat sticking out of further off forest.
"Was this... Who did this", I lean onto the side of my spear my head throbbing in pain.
"You did or the Nomu and you did. After the Nomu beat you into the floor I attempted to deactivate it's quirk but couldn't it was just the physically strong. After awhile it stopped punching you and started heading back towards the now named Shigaraki, the hand guy. But before it could get to far it was sent flying into the fountain, from the rubble you were standing over it, your entire costume in tatters and weird purple and black corrosive marking covering your body, you fought and fought hard at that. It went on for minutes, despite the Nomu being stronger and faster your quirk was far better and managed to fend it off even if you couldn't use your most powerful attacks. You almost ended up losing again, those markings were seemingly destroying your body but All Might appeared, I later found out the school got an alert from one of your gadgets because of this no one else was hurt badly", Aizawa finishes his lengthy explanation by placing a hand on my shoulder from behind.
"You did good you managed to save everyone, even if you were reckless it was a good kind of reckless".
Hearing his words I place my head onto the railing in front of me.
'I did good... I was a hero...'
The hand on my shoulder tightens, "Being a hero isn't easy, we have to see and do things some people couldn't even fathom. But you can take pride that you managed to save others. I know it won't ease the pain, but maybe talking to your classmates will help, see their appreciation.", he pauses for a moment, "Just remember that those tears are proof you are human, it's okay to be scared, just don't build your walls to high up and you will see some amazing things."
Slowly a small wet puddle is created at my feet.
We sit there for a moment before I wipe my eyes off and silently walk back to the car.
...
My entire life I was different I was smart and had an amazing ability I could do things most wouldn't dream off...
Because of this I was pushed to help others, 'use my quirk to be a hero' they said.
I originally never wanted to be one, but if they want me to be a hero I will do that, 'today' was just a wake up call on the truth of being a hero.
So I will be a hero, one they need not want, this world already has a Symbol of Hope: All Might, a future Embodiment of Heroism: Deku, and the Flames of Repentance: Endeavour.
But just as this world has them they also have their opposites like the Demon Lord: All for One, the Symbol of Fear: Tomura Shigaraki, and the Devouring Flames of Revenge: Dabi.
Stain the Hero Killer... A man who wants to rid the world of false heroes and show society it's wrong doings... But where is his opposite...
As a man once said "Fine, I'll do it myself"
Thus the mantel I chose to take was born
Aeacus: Hero of Judgment (Ay-Kus)
A hero who judges both sides, both evil and good
_______________________________
The name Aeacus, originally pronounced Ay-uh-kus is the name of one of Greek Mythologies Judges of hell and is a name I quite like.
How do you all feel about this chapter, I felt a bit weird writing it, don't know why though.
Question of the Chapter: Favorite Mythological person or being, I don't have one personally but I do like Loki, Icarus, and Hades.
