Useless
Spirit woke up feeling incredibly tired, he was in pain and he was sure moving would be next to impossible. He hissed at the bright lights before he heard a familiar voice, "Danny, you're awake."
Spirit looked to his right and Robin was sitting in a chair next to his bed, he looked more then a little worried. Spirit smiled a little, "I don't die that easily, so what happened?"
Robin mentally sighed, "You got hurt while we were in Bialya and you passed out when we got to the bio-ship. We flew back to the mountain as soon as we could and when Batman saw how badly you were injured we took you to the batcave. Alfred took care of your wounds and we've been waiting for you to wake up ever since then."
Spirit groaned, "I hate it when that happens, I'm guessing I have to explain what happened?"
Robin nodded, "Bruce is actually worried, you don't have to explain now if you don't want to."
Spirit hummed, "I'd rather just get the explanations over with, the sooner I tell you guys the sooner I don't have to worry about it."
Robin looked even more concerned before he nodded, "I'll get Bruce."
Robin left the room and Spirit slowly sat up, it hurt like hell but he still managed to do it. When Batman and Robin walked into the room they both sat down and Batman spoke, "What happened?"
Spirit mentally sighed, "I'm not completely sure what happened before I got knocked out. When I woke up I was restrained and I remembered that the team got a mission and we were in Bialya. I tried to get out but I couldn't, the chains were ghost proof, it was easy to figure out that the GIW took me."
"They were a different branch from the one here, since different branches don't usually keep in touch they didn't know who I am. Don't get me wrong they still tortured me but it was for information more then anything."
Batman spoke, "What kind of information?"
"Information on the team, I wouldn't tell them anything so they tortured me even more which still didn't work. I'm not completely sure how long I was there but when I managed to get out I saw the team outside, I'm sure you can guess the rest."
Batman didn't look happy, Robin looked absolutely pissed but he was more worried about Spirit at the moment. Batman looked at Spirit, "What are you going to tell the team?"
"If they ask I'll tell them that I got into a fight and ended up getting hurt, I think it'd be best to leave out the part about getting tortured."
Batman nodded and stood up, "I'll tell the team that you're okay, they've been asking about you every chance they get."
Spirit sighed before he laid back down, he was tired and annoyed that he got injured, again. Batman left and Robin frowned, "Are you okay?"
"Aside from the fact that I'm exhausted and I got injured, again, I'm fine." Spirit paused for a second, "I'm completely useless aren't I?"
Robin's eyes widened, "Of course your not, why would you even think that?"
"Because I get hurt on nearly every mission, right now I can barely sit up on my own let alone walk. I literally got captured almost as soon as the mission started and passed out when we were leaving."
Robin looked at Spirit sadly, he moved some hair away of the halfa's face and gave him a serious look. "You're not useless, you've helped all of us more then you think, yes you were captured but the rest of us lost our memories. You literally got tortured and you refused to say anything about the team, I don't know if the rest of us could have done that."
Spirit mentally sighed before he decided to change the subject, "So what's happened to the team since I was out?"
Robin frowned but he still answered Spirit's question, "Miss Martian and Superboy have their first day of school today. They've all been worried about you, they've been bothering Red Tornado non stop to see if he knows anything. That's about it as far as I know, you've only been out for about two days, I thought you'd be asleep longer."
Spirit hummed and Robin looked incredibly worried, the hero took off his mask and kissed Spirit's forehead. "Try to get some sleep, we'll talk more when you wake up."
Spirit held Robin's hand and Robin tightened his grip on the halfa's hand slightly, his way of saying that he wouldn't leave. Spirit closed his eyes and soon fell asleep, Robin sat next to the bed and waited for him to wake up again.
