To say that Spirit was confused was an understatement, he hadn't expected news like this, especially from Batman. "Hold on, you're making some sort of team for young heroes and you want me to be a member, seriously?"

"Yes, you've proven time and again that you'd be a good hero, you're also incredibly adaptable and you know things the others don't. Robin is already a part of the team, I know having him there will make it easier for you to be around others. We can keep what you are a secret until you trust the team enough to tell them, if you don't want to join I won't force you."

Spirit thought about it for a minute before he quietly sighed, "Fine, but if I decide to quit the team-."

Batman cut him off, "I won't stop you."

"Then I'll join, you can tell them about the ghost thing but that's is, nothing about me being a halfa, and especially not the vampire thing."

Batman nodded, "That's fine, I'm heading over to the mountain soon, I'd like you to come with but you can stay invisible until you're supposed to meet the team."

Spirit nodded and the two made their way to the mountain, Spirit was more then happy to stay invisible. The team showed up about twenty minutes later and Spirit tuned out what Batman said in favor of looking at the young heroes. Aqualad and Kid Flash were part of the team, Spirit heard Speedy quit so he wasn't likely to show up.

Then there was Superboy, from what Batman told him on the way over he's a clone of Superman. Hopefully he wouldn't be very hard to get along with, he might have to practice some patience with this one. Then Batman said something that caught his attention, "The six of you will be that team."

Robin smiled, "Cool, wait, six?"

Batman looked toward the zeta tubes, the young heroes did the same, "This is Martian Manhunter's niece, Miss Martian."

Miss Martian smiled, "Hi."

Kid Flash looked at Robin, "I'm liking this gig more every minute." Spirit then tuned him out since he wasn't interested in what he was saying, Superboy soon walked over after Robin invited him to.

Miss Martian changed her outfit, she didn't have a cape anymore and her shirt was black and red instead of white and red. "I like your t-shirt."

Superboy smiled a little and Robin nudged him in the side before Kid Flash sped over and put his arm around his shoulders. Robin looked at Batman, "But that's only five, you said six."

Batman looked at him, "He's joining too."

Robin's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "Seriously?! Wait, he doesn't do well with new people."

"I've already talked to him about it, he agreed to join but you'll have to keep an eye on him."

Kid Flash looked from Robin to Batman, "Wait, who's he?"

Aqualad spoke, "Is he dangerous?"

Robin looked at him, "Not exactly."

Batman spoke, "He doesn't always do well with new people, you'll have to give him time to get used to all of you."

Robin looked at Batman, "So where is he?"

Batman mentally sighed, "Spirit." Spirit let himself become visible and everyone's eyes widened, he wasn't what they were expecting. He looked to be about thirteen, the same age as Robin, and his expression was completely neutral.

Robin quickly walked over while Batman introduced him, "This is Spirit, he'll be your sixth team member."

Robin lead Spirit closer to the team and Aqualad spoke, "Is he human?"

Batman answered, "No, he's a ghost."

Kid Flash didn't look convinced, "Ghosts don't exist."

Spirit spoke, "And people used to say aliens didn't exist, look how that turned out."

Batman mentally sighed, "Whether you believe that he's a ghost or not doesn't matter, he's your teammate so try to get along."

Miss Martian walked up to Spirit, "Hi."

Spirit looked at her, "Hi."

The young heroes couldn't help but smile and Aqualad looked at Robin, "Today is the day."
