(We're skipping episode 7)

Spirit wasn't having fun, the rest of the team was unconscious aside from Aqualad and the atlantean could barely move. He was the only one fending off Clayface and things weren't going well, if this kept up he'd have to use some powers he'd rather not reveal yet. Then he heard a new heartbeat, seconds later Batman crashed through the skylight and took down Clayface.

Spirit fell to his knees and Batman looked at him, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, but I'd like to leave now." After making sure the team was okay they headed back to the mountain, Spirit realized that he had a few injures as they left. When they finally got to the mountain Batman said he wanted to talk to Aqualad, Spirit took his chance to leave.

Robin caught up to him seconds later and he looked a little upset, Spirit got a bit worried. "What's wrong?"

Robin sighed, "I'll tell you later." Spirit gave him a worried look but he nodded, after getting all of the sludge off their skin and changing, because their clothes were ruined, they left.

Batman had insisted that Spirit go with him and Robin to the manor since he was clearly exhausted. Not only that but Robin wanted him to go with as well, he couldn't say no at that point so he went with them. They used the zeta tubes to leave and as soon as they appeared in the batcave Spirit transformed into a human.

Robin and Batman changed into normal clothes and they went up to the manor using the elevator. When they got upstairs Alfred went to greet them, when he saw Danny he smiled, "Hello Danny."

Danny smiled, "Hey Alfred."

Alfred then looked at Bruce, "Dinner will be ready soon."

Bruce nodded and went to his office, Danny and Richard went to the TV room to waste some time. They sat on the couch and Richard hugged Danny, the halfa was a bit surprised but he wasn't going to complain. After a bit Richard spoke, "I know you got injured."

Danny shrugged, "It's not that bad, bruises and a few broken ribs, I'm fine. Now you owe me an explanation, something's upsetting you and I want to know what it is, so talk."

Richard quietly sighed, "Promise you won't tell anyone?"

Danny smiled a little, "You already know I'll never tell anyone if you don't want me to."

Richard smiled a little before it fell again, "I feel like Bruce is ignoring me, like he doesn't care."

Danny frowned, "I know what it's like to be ignored by someone, especially someone that's supposed to be your parent. I have a hard time believing that Bruce doesn't care, but if that's actually true then he's a moron." Richard laughed a little and Danny smiled before he looked serious again, "But that's not what's really bothering you is it?"

Richard hesitated, "It's just hard."

Danny frowned, "Richard, what's wrong?"

Richard sighed, "I tried not to think about it before but now it's hard not to, no matter how hard I try I can't get it out of my head."

Danny's expression somehow darkened, "What is it?"

Richard wondered if he should tell Danny, he took one look at his boyfriend and knew that he had to tell him. "I've been a hero for a long time, I sat by and watched as everyone around me got more powerful. At first it didn't bother me but now, being on the team, it's more obvious then ever that I'm not strong."

"I don't have powers, they've been getting stronger but I haven't and that's not even the worst part. The worst part is that they'll never know how hard it is for me, to constantly be reminded that I'll never be good enough. They don't know that it bothers me because they're never watching me, no one's ever watching me."

"Even Artemis doesn't because she doesn't care, she just keeps trying to prove that she's better then the others. The only one that notices is you, even if I'm just a little upset you always know something is wrong. I know a lot more then the others think, when no one's watching you it's easy to find out what no one thinks you'll see."

Danny was silent for a minute, "Why didn't you tell me before?"

Richard looked away, "I didn't want to upset you."

"Richard, just because something might upset me doesn't mean you shouldn't tell me." Richard refused to look at him and Danny mentally sighed, "You're not good enough." Richard's eyes widened and he looked at Danny, the halfa smiled, "You're better then that."

Richard looked completely stunned and Danny continued, "You don't need powers, you never have. I've known you for years and I watched you get stronger, I watched you not only keep up with everyone but surpass them as well. You're already so much stronger then anyone I've ever met, I know for a fact that if you wanted to you could take down everyone on the team."

"I've seen you fight villains that everyone else would have trouble taking down, you make it seem easy. The others are special, I'll give them that, but you're extraordinary, I've never thought of you as being anything less. You're smarter then anyone on the team, you know more then they think because of how smart you are, and I don't know about anyone else but I'll always be watching you."

Richard stared at Danny in shock for a minute before he smiled and kissed his boyfriend, "You have no idea how much I needed to hear that."

Danny smiled, "Well I'm glad I could help." Not even five seconds later Alfred called them for dinner and they both got up, Richard couldn't help but smile.
