"Can you mind your own business, Akshara!?"

"Is this the way to talk to your elder sister, Arohi?" Bade papa yelled.

"What should I do if Akshara hates me so much!?" Arohi replied, tears streaming down her face. Akshara just stood there, looking down at her reflection in the crystal clear Italian marble tiles.

She had failed as a sister. She couldn't fulfil the promise she gave to Sirat Maa. She failed as Arohi's elder sister. She couldn't even convince her that she loves her. The thirteen year old's heart broke.

Arohi looked at the stars, again, simply trying to find her parents. At that very moment, she felt that she deserved the pain.

The way she treated the people around her, especially Akshu, she deserved it. All her life, she dwelled into her misery and insecurities and made her sister's life a living hell.

And if Arohi was too honest, her sister was one of the two people who actually loved her.

"Aaru, did you eat?"

"Why do you care? You'd be the happiest if I die anyway"

Arohi had unconsciously dug her nails into her arm, trying to relieve the mental pain by relying on the physical pain. As destiny would have it, after all these years Akshara came on the terrace to see Arohi standing there, looking at the stars her nails digging into her arm.

"Aaru" a soft whisper left her lips, which Arohi heard but chose not to react to.

"Don't call me Aaru"

"You and Kairav bhaiyya are unfortunate. Unfortunate because you two would never be free from me. You're stuck with me for life, unfortunately. I could free my Chamgadar, but not you guys"

Akshara's mind time travelled to a bitter memory and she turned away to go somewhere else.

"Please don't go" Arohi whispered.

"What?"

"Stay" Arohi said, a little louder this time "please stay" she repeated.

Akshara stood beside her baby sister, who looked so troubled.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Akshara asked and Arohi nodded negatively.

"Okay" Akshara nodded, and decided to stay silent. She looked here and there, like a little kid who simply couldn't stand silently.

"How are you so forgiving Akshu?" Arohi asked.

"I don't know" Akshara replied honestly. Abhimanyu always whines that Akshara was too trusting and forgiving, which worried him, but people just managed to redeem themselves in front of her.

"Okay" Arohi acknowledged her honest answer.

"I am sorry" she said.

"For what?"

"For everything"

"You don't need"

"No. I need to. I need to apologise continuously. It keeps me sane" she cut Akshara off who remained silent.

A silence followed.

"Wait, so you and Neil?"

"Yes. For quite some time now"

"Wow. So like since my wedding or something?"

"No. Actually it was since like the end of our first year"

"So..like 5 years?" Akshara asked, shocked. How did these two fools hide this so well?

"Yeah"

"Damn"

"Don't tell this to anyone"

"Yeah"

"Not even jiju"

"Yeah"

"You're in a loop, Akshara"

"You have to give me time to process!" Akshara defended dramatically.

"Fair enough"

"Akshu, is love enough?" Arohi shot a question again. Akshara was her elder sister, more experienced and did have some wise things to say, as she is a teacher.

"No, Arohi. Love can never be enough, we're humans after all. According to me, love co-exists. Co-exists with ambition, desire, sorrow, joy. I think, we as humans, to stay humans, should never let it stop from co-existing with other emotions"

Arohi listened carefully at Akshata's words.

"Wow" she muttered. "Arts waale students" (Humanities students) she added and Akshara laughed.

"You should write books"

"Nah"

"Okay"

"Akshu, I am fortunate. Fortunate to have been stuck with you for life"

"As am I. I am fortunate to have a younger sister, who's my opposite and balances me"

"I..I" Arohi stuttered as she tried to find the words and Akshara flashed her elder sister smile.

"I love you too, Aaru"
