23. Gala Day 3
The party was going on all around her, it was the day after Steve's birthday and the last day of Tony's gala, which she has to say, she was pretty happy about. This entire party was getting a little out of control, and she had to admit she was much looking forward to having her bit of peace before she had more work to do.
Sharon and Maria were occupied on the dance floor, as were all the other couples so Natasha decided that maybe she should get some much-needed fresh air. The wind felt nice compared to the crowded penthouse if she was being honest.
She took out her phone, hoping to see a message from Steve, but there was nothing. She wasn't the clingy type of course, but sometimes she wished he wouldn't work himself to death. Steve had a tendency to be a work-a-holic, but who's to say she wasn't either.
She decided to take in the cool air, letting it hit her face. Eventually, the night went on and she decided that she was going to call it a night. It was only 6, but to be fair this was an all-day event. She wanted to get her to her dogs, maybe have a glass of wine and watch Oliver and Company. so she bid a good night to her very drunk friends.
The drive home was short, she was glad her apartment was so close to the penthouse. Greeting her was her furry friends, Dodger was especially happy to see her as he danced around her legs. "Hey buddy," She smiled scratching behind his ears.
After the dog calmed down, she went to shower and change into something a little more comfortable. AKA Steve's hoodie and small pair of shorts. As she was finally able to settle down, Dodger took his seat properly right beside her, suddenly a knock happened on her door. She sighed, rolling her eyes.
When she opened the door a woman in a dark blue suit stood before her. She had long blonde hair and was seemingly doing a great job
"Natasha Romanoff?"
"That's me" She frowned.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Paige," She pulled out a folder of papers from her briefcase. "This is for you, you are being served for the deformation of the character of Matt Murdock."
"oh, you got to be fucking kidding me,"
"Unfortunately I am not," Paige said, giving her best fake smile. "Have a wonderful rest of your night Ms. Romanoff." Natasha looked down at her papers. Oh, he was making an enemy out of the wrong person.
