AS Jun came running down the stairs with his dressed self and essentials, he raises his brows towards Minghao and smiles, "You ready?" he then acknowledges the fact that Fengjun was sitting right next to him, his joyful expression disappears as he points to his brother, "you weren't bothering him were you?"
Minghao shakes his head, answering before Fengjun could. "No, he wasn't. Don't worry." The ravenette couldn't see Fengjun's facial response to his brother as he was staring at Jun. But, the younger boy beside him stuck out his tongue towards the taller brunette. Getting up from his position on the couch, Minghao walks towards the door, "let's go before it gets late."
"Yeah," As Jun shortly replies, but sticks his tongue back at Fengjun. Walking quickly towards the front door, the two boys slip on their shoes. Once the brunette was done putting on his converse, he sets his attention on Fengjun, "be good. Help mom out if something needs to be done."
"Alright Captain!" Fengjun then salutes, Minghao who lets out a small laugh unlocks the door and pulls it open. As they're about to head out, the smaller brunette shouts his last words before they're out of his sight, "Have fun on your date!" But, the door shut rather quickly as Jun's ears caught the phrase. "Loser.."
Minghao who stands on the sidewalk waits for Jun to lock his door. Not wanting to continue a conversation with his brother, he took the task into his own hands as the younger boy was probably occupied with watching TV. After he's done securing the home, he runs over to Minghao and gives him a thumbs up, "Alright, let's go."
Walking to town is an activity Jun's always up for, but, since Joshua became busier by the hour he hasn't had anyone to hang out with. He found it quite nice to have someone new to be around, "So, how'd you get your parents to let you out?"
"My dad let me go, he'll inform my mom about my 'tutoring' lesson I'm supposed to be at." Minghao tells, Jun raises a brow as that was the excuse used, "What? I'm here and that's all that matters."
Jun nods his head, "Yeah true. I like that attitude, you should be this carefree all the time."
"I'm working on it."
Their walk to Mingyu's family cafe wasn't long, though the time that it would take to get there would be about ten to twelve minutes. Time clearly felt short when you were having fun or spending it with someone you like. But, as they arrived at their destination, Jun opens the door for Minghao and allows him to enter first. Trailing right behind him, they're now inside the busy shop and Jun spots the tall cashier a number of feet away from him. "Gyu!" He shouts, grabbing the younger's attention though he was obviously busy taking a customer's order. After he hands the woman her receipt, he responds to Jun's call with a wave.
"What do you want? I'll order." Minghao says, wanting to pay for the two of them as Jun took care of the bill the last time.
"Same thing." He answers.
"Strawberry shortcake?" As the ravenette asked for confirmation, Jun nods his head. "alright, I'll be back then. Find us a table." Jun listens to his instructions without a fuss and walks away from the line. Minghao occupies himself with his phone as he waits for his turn, there was a great number of people visiting the pastry shop. Mostly because they weren't known for their delicious treats but had other items on the menu. For example, one of Minghao's favorites was the vanilla iced coffee Jun ordered him the night they went out. Though his preference leaned towards the tea side, he will say that Jun's changes to the drink made it irresistible. It took a few minutes to reach the front, Minghao was gestured by Jun's friend, Mingyu to come up to his register. As Minghao lists out his order, Mingyu was quick to get it all down.
"Are you on a date with Jun?"
Minghao's eyes widen, quickly removing his wallet from his cross-over bag as he felt his own cheeks heating up. Not only that, he felt his ears burning up, with Mingyu's view his eyes surely would be able to catch the sight. Slipping his card out of the slot, he shakes his head, "We're only hanging out."
"You're red. You're a bad liar."
The ravenette hands Mingyu his card, "I may be a bad liar, but this is the truth I promise."
Mingyu lips curl into a small smile, he gently grabs the piece of plastic and swipes it. He allows Minghao to enter his pin before continuing the conversation. "Jun enjoys your company, I can tell by his face."
Minghao's card is shortly returned, he gives Mingyu a small smile after receiving his receipt with his order number. "I'm glad because I enjoy his as well." He then walks away without giving Mingyu the chance to reply, he goes on the search for Jun as he wondered where he was. Trailing away from the line of people, he finds Jun talking to a boy. Raising a brow due to the odd interaction between the stranger and Jun, he finds himself being pointed at by the unknown boy. Minghao who flinches, finds Jun gesturing to come to him, so he does as awkwardly standing in the store wouldn't do him any justice. "Hi Jun, who's this?"
"Oh, Minghao this is Jeonghan. Jeonghan this is Minghao. He goes to our school." The boy, well Jeonghan sticks out his hand for Minghao to shake. Minghao was hesitant, but he brings up the courage and shakes Jeonghan's hand with a tiny smile. "I don't think you've met him before."
Minghao shakes his head, taking a seat in front of Jun, "No. I haven't."
"Our school is big, so I wouldn't expect everyone to know me," Jeonghan reassures, his pearly smile displaying, "I hate to interrupt your date. But, I have to meet up with someone as well and I don't want to stay for too long. Bye Jun, bye Minghao!" He shortly disappears and Jun isn't able to clear up that the two weren't on a date.
Minghao puts his elbow onto the table, palm blossoming open as he rests his chin on the surface of his hand. "Why does everyone think that?"
Jun brushes a piece of his away from his face, "Think what?"
"That we're on a date."
Jun chokes on air after hearing the specific word from Minghao, he personally didn't feel anything negative when it came to defining their time together as a 'date', but he was unsure of how Minghao felt when it came to the label. The last thing he wanted to do was make the younger uncomfortable, "Well..I guess it's easy to misinterpret."
"Dates are like, for people who are together?" Minghao questions, ignoring his words as he wanted an answer. He was unfamiliar with dating, though he was a teen boy he could say he was highly inexperienced when it came to this topic. Ask him about thermodynamics not relationships. "Or like, is it dates than relationships?"
"Well, it's both. People can go on dates even if they're not in a relationship. But, they also can go on dates when they are dating. Hao, have you never been in a relationship before?!"
Minghao shakes his head, "My mom told me I wasn't allowed to. But, her words don't matter now. I'm just curious..have you been in one?"
"You haven't been in a relationship? Look at you!" Jun exaggerates his hand movements as he speaks, Minghao turns away, embarrassed. Mostly because people were beginning to stare due to Jun's loud tone. "but, to answer your question. No, I've never been in one. I have been on a couple of dates, only because my friends thought I should have a love life."
"How'd that turn out?"
Jun shrugs, "It didn't really feel special. Maybe cause I wasn't interested in the first place...I do feel bad, but in the end, they all realized that things between us wouldn't click. So, nobody really got hurt."
"Well..have you ever fallen in love?"
Fallen in love? That was a tough question as Jun was still figuring out his own feelings. Though the lines are cliche, he believed the light in his life became awfully brighter in a good way ever since Minghao has entered it. Even with the duties of being captain, meeting up with his team didn't seem as stressful as before as he reminded himself of Minghao. They'd focus on him one day, but Jun hoped that they could prioritize themselves as a pair when they've figured out their shit. That felt odd to say, prioritize themselves as a pair when it seemed as if Jun was using those words to cover up the underlying feelings within him. Maybe he was in love?
Minghao waved a hand in front of Jun, smiling as he couldn't help but find the dozing boy somewhat cute, "Junhui? You okay?"
Love. As his eyes focused on Minghao, gulping the lump in his throat he nods. "Yeah, I'm good." And yeah, maybe the emotion hiding inside him was a building interest when it came to Minghao. Jun wanted his feelings to develop more before making a statement to himself, but, the sound of his heart beating ringing in his ear already said it all.
