"WHAT did you and Jun talk about the other day?" Wonwoo questions out of the blue, which made the younger ravenette a bit curious about how he knew about their interaction. "If you're wondering, you guys passed by the choir room and I heard a couple of things. Basically unintentional eavesdropping."
"Oh," Minghao starts off, understanding his explanation. "well he kind of gave me some advice..."
"Was it good advice?" Wonwoo was always the type to ask for details, it didn't bother Minghao but he wondered if this conversation would swerve into a different direction if he did say everything. "Just wondering."
"I guess...yeah." His tone was ambivalent, Wonwoo was able to tell once he finished his sentence. "The problem is...when it comes to advice and me, they don't seem to clash well. As much as I appreciate the words, the next day it feels as if following whatever was said is impossible."
"Maybe 'cause you're afraid of trailing away from your roots Hao." Wonwoo points out, and of course, this detail was correct. Minghao was and is still afraid of defying his parents no matter how much he wants to. There would be a devastating amount of consequences that would follow through if he did decide to become his own person - so what could he do?
"I know," As he was clearly self-aware now. There was no point in denying it so why even fight with Wonwoo on this, "I just want to be my own person...the Xu Minghao I am now doesn't really suit me."
"You're old enough to make your own choices Minghao. If you want to change for you, then do it. Soonyoung and I will support you, we've been kinda waiting for this moment honestly." The older admits, scratching his nape as he hoped that Minghao didn't take his words the wrong way.
Minghao only replies with silence during their walk through the halls of the academy. Wonwoo was afraid that he'd said something wrong, once again, but instead, he catches the younger smiling. "You're..smiling."
He nods, "Yeah. I think Jun told me I should do it more often."
"You should, your face might go numb if you keep the same expression on for twenty-four hours." Wonwoo teases, he receives a light punch from the ravenette. "I'm kidding, but he's right you should. Soonyoung and I like seeing you smile."
"I know, Soonyoung asked me to smile for you guys." As he recalls the small moment, "I should. It feels...nice."
"Hey Wonwoo, you ever thought of modeling before?" The younger brings up, it was a random question to ask as it didn't correlate with their conversations. But, Wonwoo shakes his head as an answer. "Do you...want to model for me?"
"For what?"
Minghao shrugs his shoulders, but it was obvious he knew what he wanted to ask. Playing dumb in situations like these don't do him any justice. "I've been wanting to get into photography. It's the easiest hobby to endorse myself in since dance would be a bit of a hassle to get around with my parents."
"Oh I see, photography? I can definitely see you as that type of guy, a great way to start off an aesthetic."
"Aesthetic?"
Wonwoo sighs, "You know when people can be defined as certain types of aesthetics? I guess this is your start to building yours."
Minghao presses his lips together, thinking about why that even mattered. With his brows being furrowed, he relaxes his face muscles and pops a question to Wonwoo. "What's yours then?"
"Mine?"
"Yeah, yours."
Wonwoo tilts his head to the side, that was a good question. He didn't really know how to define his 'aesthetic', nor did he really believe he has built one. "I don't know, still figuring it out I'd say."
"Oh," Minghao seemed to be a little disappointed by his response. But, he quickly changed his attitude and gives Wonwoo a firm nod. "then let's figure them out together, okay?"
The older couldn't lie, that was probably the cutest shit he's ever heard from Minghao. "Yeah, I'd like that."

Once Minghao got home from school, he entered his room without a fuss and threw his stuff down next to his bed. He changed out of his school clothes quickly before opening his window, ensuring that the same awkward encounter with Jun wouldn't once again replay. After completing his small tasks, he unlocks and pushes the square window to reveal Jun's correlating glass in front of him. He wondered if the boy was home, mostly because he wanted to tell Jun about his small plan with getting into photography. Since Wonwoo didn't seem too ecstatic with the idea of being a model, maybe Jun would be interested.
Just call my name. Minghao takes a small gulp before attempting to summon the boy. "Jun!" At first, there was no answer, but of course, it was only seconds after he said his name. "Junhui!"
A minute or so later, Jun's window is pushed open and hits the side of his house. "W-What happened? Are you alright?"
Minghao lets out a small laugh, the reaction the boy gave was somewhat funny to him as he seemed to have activated Jun's serious mode. "I'm alright, I just wanted to tell you something."
Jun tilts his head, intrigued to what the boy had to say, "Oh, then what's up?"
"I've decided to take your advice and..I want to get into photography. So, I was wondering if you could model for me! If it's too much to ask for I'll just-"
"I'll do it." Jun immediately complies although he hasn't heard all the terms and conditions. "Wanna schedule when we can hang out so you can practice? I'm free whenever just give me a date and-"
"I think that's the problem though...I don't know how to go out without my parents knowing what my intentions are." Minghao admits, sighing right after as he felt defeated without even trying. "I'm always stuck at home doing things like homework and practicing these dumb instruments. Why can't I just be a normal teen!"
"Have any excuses? Like..tutoring, school project?"
"My mom, is literally, psycho," Minghao emphasizes, leaning through the window a bit to exaggerate his emotions. "I can barely do anything because of her because she monitors everything. I'm pretty sure my dad is only just following along cause I swear there are moments where he could give two fucks! But, it's just hard getting around my mom."
"What If I go to your front door and-"
"Oh please don't," Minghao cuts off, forming his hands into a ball as he pleads, "that will just be even worse." Jun puts his hands up defensively, Minghao's hands drop back to his side and all the younger can do is let out another sigh. "I'm sorry that I'm making this so complicated. I just, don't want something to happen to you..."
"Well, even if something does I'll still be here. Literally I'm across your window." Jun reassures with a small laugh. Minghao shrugs, unsure of what his plan should be. "How about this, you okay with sneaking out?"
The ravenette across from him furrows his brow, curious to what the older had up his sleeve. "I've..never done it before."
"Great," The boy says with a grin, "the same goes for me, so our first times will be with each other. If you can find a way out of your house, why don't we go out and take pictures at night while your parents are asleep? I know that lighting matters and all but you're still learning, so are you up for it?"
"What if they figure out?"
"Well..you only live once right?" Minghao nods from his rhetorical question, the older laughs as he found his response cute. "So, yes or no?"
Minghao felt his heart race by the thought of his parents catching him in the midst of sneaking out, but, he yearned to go out for once and do what he wanted. He was still a mere teen, he had his own hopes and desires and Jun was helping him throughout this small journey. Sucking up the worse of what could happen back down into his mind, he gives Jun a firm nod and smiles. "Yes, it's a yes." The clock was ticking, he didn't have much time and he was growing up. Some time, he'd have to defy them, and tonight would be that night.
Jun pumps his fist into the air, "Alright! Meet me outside at ten tonight. Whatever you do, don't get caught."
"I'll try my best Junhui."
