Chapter 1: Nurse Maritus

I arrived at the hospital. It was oddly secluded, hidden somewhere outside Inkopolis. It was surprisingly still together, outside, but still lost. I carefully stepped into the run-down, abandoned looking lobby of the hospital. I was one of the reporters of High Color News, investigating the case. Something about a hospital filled with mutated patients- or, the ones that were left alive. And it was said that the doctors there were all psychos. And one of them- Matt Miller, was it?- Was the primary suspect of multiple killings. Though this couldn't be the place, because there was a nurse sitting at the dirtied, covered-in-glass front desk. The window that was meant to be there was apparently shattered. She was an Inktoling- a cross between the two species. She had blue tentacles, piercing red eyes and smooth caramel skin. She looked up at me, a sadistic grin spreading across her face as she tilted her head. Her hands stayed on her lap.

"You should have run away when you has the chance, sweetie. But you're here now. So, that means you don't have to worry about anything anymore. My name is Nurse Maritus. I'll be scheduling your appointment today. Her smile grew into a deranged grin. "We hope you enjoy your stay here at Inkblood Hospital!" She took a dismantled notebook from the side. She took a quill and started writing in it. Is her ink... red? Wait, wouldn't that mean- "Your name, girl?" She asked me. "I-it's Ashley." I replied. "Ashley... I'm setting you up an appointment for a meeting with our head doctor. He'll help you out with whatever you need." She told me. I didn't feel panicked, just disturbed by the look on her face. "Who's your head doctor? I have a lot of questions." I asked the nurse. She let out a snicker. "Why, Matt Miller of course! Our master surgeon!" Him!? If I meet him, I'm as good as dead!

In a panic, I ran back to the exit. However, the door was locked. I hit it repeatedly, trying to get it to open but with no success. I could hear Nurse Maritus's footsteps behind me getting closer. I picked up the pace, but still no success. I felt her hand on my shoulder. I turned around rapidly to be met with her looking at me, a psychotic smile on her face. "No running away now, girl. You're here with us. No need to worry, we'll take care of you." She then grabbed me by the arms and threw me down on the ground. I could feel myself being dragged away. The exit doors grew farther and farther away, as I was taken through a corridor. Two hospital doors had closed, sealing my fate as one would believe. But I know I can get out of here. I just need to figure out how.
