Raven had never hated her father as much as she did right now. The thought gave her deja vu, walking the streets and thinking about what she had destroyed and how much she hated her father. The only thing different, this family hadn't died, they'd removed her. She looked up at the moon, holding back her tears as best she could.

"Mom, I've done something terrible," She said, "Something as bad as what I did to you. I've lost my new family Mom, I've lost them," She couldn't hold back the tears as she spoke, "They want a way to fix him, but I don't know how. I don't think there is a way. He may not be dead in body, but Dick is dead. And it's my fault," She sat down against the wall of a building just out of the reach of the streetlight, "I just wanted to make you proud of me, and look what I've done now. The only person I can talk to is dad. And I think I'd rather die than do that," She was silent for a while, just watching the world go by.

She couldn't help the hopeless feeling that ran through her. She felt like she didn't want to exist anymore, but she didn't want to die. She just wanted this to pass and everything to go back to how it was. She just wanted to get rid of her father. But she couldn't do that, he was immortal, he couldn't die. That just made Raven even more upset.

"This is your fault," She whispered to him, "This is all your fault."

"But is it?" He replied, "You were the one that let me revive him. So who is really to blame?"

"Shut up," She said, but there was no force behind it, "You would have done it anyway."

Her father didn't reply and she was left alone again.

"Mom, do you know how to help Dick?" She asked, "I bet you would, you knew everything."

And she had known everything, the only thing she hadn't known was that her daughter would disobey her orders and summon her father. That her daughter would be the cause of the death of Azarath. And now, the destruction of Earth. But that's what she was born for, she was born to be a portal for her father to get to Earth.

"Azarath... absolutio... Zinthos..."

She perked up at the words, there was no one around to have said them but she definitely heard something.

"Azarath, ex hoc anima date absolutio, metrion, vicissim exstirpatione, zinthos, facere anima rursus pura."

It was the same voice.

"Hello?" She called out but there was no reply, just the same words again. And this time she recognised it, "Mom? Mom?"

She looked around for her but she wasn't there.

"Mom, I miss you," Raven said, "Please don't leave me." There was no reply, "Mom? Please..." but she was gone.

But the words, they had been a spell. To fix Dick.

"Thank you so much mom," She said and turned to run back to the mountain.

If she had turned to look back she would have seen the ghost of a woman vanishing in the wind.

----------

She was out of breath by the time she got back to the mountain, and she quickly snuck in through the garage. She moved through the mountain, recalling the path that Kaldur had taken when he first brought her here. It opened up into the living room and there she could see the damage she had caused.

Dick was, as far as she could see he was gone. Nothing of the man she'd come to know was left in him. As he sat the other side of the glass holding cell, he seemed relaxed but his eyes were predatory. They missed nothing.

And the remaining heroes were scattered over the room in defeat.

Babs who sat staring at him, Artemis, Wally and Kaldur on the couch, and Kori in the kitchen with M'gann.

"Look who's back," He called which grabbed the attention of the few that had stayed behind, "The little demon portal. Come to let me out?"

"What are you doing back here?" Babs asked, not moving from her spot against the far wall, "I thought I told you to get out."

"I know how to fix him," She replied, trying to ignore the fact that Babs had a half empty wine bottle in her hand, "I can do it."

"Like hell you can," Artemis cut in, "You're not going near him, you'll probably just let him out and actually end the world."

"No, I promise, just one-"

"We said no," Babs cut Raven off this time, "So get out of here and don't ever come back. I never want to see you again."

Raven felt the words sting, but she could understand why they all felt this way. She turned her attention from Dick's family back to him. She needed to get in there with him, she needed to bring him back the same way she let Trigon in. And she'd have to get past the remaining few first.

"I either do this the easy way, or the hard way," Raven got out as she started to summon her powers and they all went to the defence, "And trust me, you don't want to try the hard way."

"Try me," Babs chimed as she stood up, and for having drunk so much in the time Raven had been gone she still looked practically sober.

Raven moved first, sending the sofa to flip and knocking Artemis, Wally and Kaldur to the floor under it as she turned to dodge a hit from Kori behind. But she couldn't fight her, she may be competent enough in her magic, but she'd never learnt how to fight.

But somehow it came almost as an instinct to send a ball of magic at the alien and it hit, sending her flying across the room and into Wally as he got back up. She felt a force throw her across the room and caught herself in her magic just in time to stop from hitting the wall.

And that's when she realised she wasn't touching the floor. Apparently her magic extended further than she thought. She leant forward, which moved her forward as she went back at Babs, throwing a bookcase at the ginger which sent her flying out the way.

Raven pulled back to a stop, holding out her hand in front of her as arrows started flying at her, and the all stopped in their paths. This instinct thing was working better than she could have hoped. She turned the arrows back around and sent them at the shooter, hitting Artemis solid in the shoulder.

"You're not so shabby," Miss M said, "But you lack the training. And the numbers."

"And you're too confident," Raven replied, "Azartah, Metrion, Zinthos," And time seemed to stop.

"Well done my girl," She jumped, losing control of her magic as she fell back to the floor, "You're just starting to see what you can do. Imagine what you can do when you fulfil your destiny. Together, we'd be unstoppable."

"I'm not interested," Raven replied as she got up and moved over to him, moving around the frozen water beam that was coming her way, "All I know is that I need to get you out of my friend."

"You don't have the power to do that Raven," Dick replied, "And even if you did, if you get rid of me, he dies. Can you really kill him twice?"

"I know he'd want me to," Raven replied, "I know that he's still in there somewhere. And I know he'd want me to do what's right."

By this point she was just outside of the cell, both staring at each other, pitch black eyes meeting. And then she opened the door.

"You're making a mistake thinking you can beat me child," Dick said as he came out, "But have it your way."

Raven wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary to happen, further than it already had, as she felt herself get pushed back by an invisible hand and pinned against the wall.

"You're not the only one with new tricks," He said as he came over, "And if you won't join me willingly, I'll just have to make you."

"Never," Raven ground out, even as she struggled, "I won't help you."

"But little girl, it's your destiny."

Dick placed his hand over Raven's heart, and that's when Raven knew she only had one shot.

And she was going to take it.

"Azarath, ex hoc anima date absolutio, metrion, vicissim exstirpatione, zinthos, facere anima rursus pura!"

----------

"Raven, Raven? Can you hear me?"

She cracked open her eyes to see Dick standing over her, and it was Dick, not Trigon's Dick, but him. Really him.

"You're alive," She didn't know if it was a question or relief.

"You saved me," He replied, "Whatever you did, it didn't kill either of us. Just separated us."

"And you're damn fucking lucky," Raven jumped at Bab's voice.

Time must have continued when she passed out.

"She didn't mean it Babs, we all make mistakes," Dick replied, "And it wasn't her. It truly wasn't. She saved me, but she didn't kill me."

"I should go," Raven cut in before anyone else could speak, "I've caused enough damage here."

"No," Dick grabbed her wrist as she started to walk off, "You still have a show to perform. You still have a home with us."

"I can't, not after what I did-"

"One more chance," Babs cut her off, "You kill him again, you kill anyone again, and you're gone. Got it?"

Raven just nodded mutely. And so everyone headed home.
