⫓18. Room Of Spells

Author's POV

Jin and Namjoon took their plates that were filled with mountains of food and went to a table in the corner to eat. Jin actually took even more than Namjoon, because he loved food, both before death and after death. They sat down and started shoving in the food as if it was the last time they were ever going to eat. As they ate more they moaned at how good the food tasted. "Dude, this food is like...the best thing that I have ever eaten," Namjoon said with a stuffy voice due to all the food inside his mouth. "I know right!" Jin said as he took a bite of his food.

Now that they were done with the first two courses they were consuming the final course, dessert. While they were eating they were also discussing finding the room. "So, where do you think we should go first to search for the room?" Namjoon asked. "I am not really sure, maybe let's just go to places that are more...hidden" "Well, from what I feel like, I think there will be a lot of places that will be perfect for a hidden door to be in." "Right"

They quickly finished shoving in the food and got up, ready to start their exploration. Namjoon was about to point in a direction for them to go in but Jin pulled him by his hand and started to stroll down the dark hallway. Namjoon didn't mind that Jin was holding his hand, he was pretty used to it by now and well...he also liked it

The loud sound of glass being shattered echoed throughout the unknown dark room like a fire spreading through the oil. The male on the opposite couch was not bothered even at the least, he was just too used to the other's anger issues, maybe because he had them himself.

Black charcoal blood ran down his pale white hands, bringing a beautiful contrast with the flesh and the fluid. His very hand was what crushed the crystal glass in the tiny shards. His eyes had fires of anger running through them. His chest rose up and down due to his heavy breathing. Boiling rage filled his veins because of the sight that was displayed in front of him.

"How dare he hold his hand?!" The shorter shouted. "He has no right to touch anyone except me! You know what? Perhaps I should cut off that filthy human's hands so that my Jinnie won't be able to hold them." He muttered out without any realisation. "Watch that mouth of yours, my dear friend. For I advise you to not say foul about my human. Because you know what I do to those..who bad mouth my precious."

The shorter scoffed at the other's words. "It's not like he loves you back. He doesn't even know you exist. He said. "Well yours also doesn't love you back as well and on top of that, he actually hates you more than anything in the universe." The other male replied and smirked. The person on the opposite couch just rolled his eyes.

Namjoon and Jin went to as many floors as they could. They looked around in every single corner, but there was absolutely no clue as to where the door could be. At this point, it was getting on their nerves. They were on the highest floor, still looking through all the rooms, corridors and more. They just couldn't find it.

Namjoon came out of one of the rooms, disappointed that he still couldn't find the room. He looked ahead and saw Jin standing on the balcony that was located at the end of the corridor. He went there and stood next to Jin. He saw that Jin was deeply lost in his thoughts. "What is it that you are thinking about?" Namjoon asked. He took out a long sigh while looking at the scenery of the palace garden and waited for Jin's response. "I am just thinking about where the room could be located. And honestly, I don't even know where to go anymore." Jin sighed as well. Namjoon patted the younger one's back.

"It's fine, we might find it sooner or later."Namjoon said encouragingly "We HAVE to find it because this is our only chance and if we miss it..then we will have to wait for 2 more starlights. And I really don't want to lose this opportunity." Jin had a sad yet frustrated expression on his face. Namjoon looked down because he was also losing hope. As they stood in silence, Jin suddenly yelped, making Namjoon flinch a little bit. "Oh my God! What happened?!" Namjoon asked worriedly. "S-something just...got thrown at me. It just appeared out of nowhere, though. And I also don't see anyone who can just randomly throw something up here." Jin explained

"What is it?" Namjoon asked. Jin looked down and saw a crumpled ball of vintage paper. Jin picked it up, drawing Namjoon's attention towards it. "It looks like something is written in it," Joon commented. Jin nodded and opened the paper. His breath instantly hitched after looking at the writing. Namjoon again noticed Jin's reaction. "Now what happened?" "T-this handwriting..." Jin said in a hollow voice with a frown on his face. "Yeah, what about it?" Joon said after glancing at the letter. "It...it belongs to the...King of The Night."

Namjoon tensed in slight irritation and anger. "And it says that, 'The place that you are looking for can be found in an area that you would never expect it to be in. And yes, you are allowed to go to that area. No guards will stop you. Yours truly, PJ" The handwriting was just like an aesthetic vintage handwriting that we see in old diaries from the 1900s.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Joon asked. "So he is saying that it's in the most unexpected place.

Tell me, what is a place that we didn't search, thinking that it would not have the door there?" Jin asked with an eager voice. They both thought for a while. "Umm...the bathroom?" Namjoon said with a not so confident voice. "No you idiot, we already searched over there." "Then the kitchen?" "We are not allowed to go there! And the letter clearly says that it is a place we ARE allowed to go in." "How can you even believe it and also how do you know it was the King of the Night?"

"Well because, a while back, he used to send me hundreds of love letters, so I know it. And because there is literally a 'PJ' written, meaning Park Jimin. Also for trusting the letter, well...I just feel like this is the only guide we have at this point, so might as well just follow it. And now that we ARE talking about him, I think HE is the one who was stalking me the entire time, ever since we entered the palace actually. Because there is no way that he would have just guessed about what I might be doing." "You are right. Anyways, what do you think that place might be?"

"It says that it's somewhere that we won't expect it to be in and that we are allowed to go there...What might it be?" Jin scratched and thought for a while again until something clicked in his brain. He pointed his crooked index finger towards the place that was in the very front of them.

"The garden. It's the garden! This is the ONE place we haven't searched because we thought that it wouldn't be there." Jin said. "But it can't possibly be there!" "But what if it is there? Did you forget that this is the world where almost anything is possible?" Namjoon sighed. "Fine...let's go down there and search for the door." Jin instantly turned his back and made his way to the staircase that led them down to the garden.

As soon as they arrived there, they started searching around all the sculptures, fountains, swings, and whatever object they saw. But one place they didn't search in, was the grass. "I can't find it here! Did you find the door?" Namjoon yelled to Jin who was on the opposite side of him. "Nope, I can't either." Soon they both got tired so they took a seat on the nearby swing.

"I am telling you, that Park Jimin guy lied to us! Maybe he didn't WANT us to find the door. Perhaps it holds his secrets or something and that is why he's distracting us!" Namjoon said to Jin. But the ghost was lost in his own world. He just noticed something which was ringing all the alarms in his brain but he doesn't know if he can actually see it or if it's just his brain playing childish tricks on him.

Namjoon noticed that Jin wasn't listening to him due to him not saying anything. "What's the matter?" "Look over there, do you see something odd?" Jin asked, pointing near the that was near the walls of the palace grassy area. Namjoon looked in the same direction but noticed nothing. "No...why? Do you see something weird?" "Well, I am not sure but I feel like there is a certain part of that area which has a significantly different type of grass compared to others." "You see that? How are you even able to see it? It's super dark! Do you have like some special power or something?" "No, my eyesight has been like this even when I was a living human. Anyways, let's go check that place out."

Jin searched for something inside his coat and then took out a flashlight. He turned it on and then started walking to that specific area. Namjoon just followed behind. They soon arrived at the place that Jin was suspicious about. And this time even Namjoon could notice a subtle difference in the grass. It was as if someone dug the grass out in a medium-sized square shape and then put a different type of grass. "If this is the only area which has this type of grass, then it means that it is here either to signal something or something is inside it," Namjoon said. Jin nodded.

Jin kneeled down and ran his hands through the grass. His hand then suddenly stopped. A smirk appeared on his face. "Found it" "Found what?" "The door" Namjoon's eyes widened. "Wait really!?" "Yup!" Jin pulled the handle that he sensed and what seemed like a small tunnel door opened. Jin slowly and cautiously made his way down the stairs that were in there.

They both soon arrived in a dark room which was filled with...bubbles that had some ancient language's letters in it. The room looked like a glass box and behind that glass, you could see the dark blue walls and floor. "Don't say anything. Because now I will have to memorise the spell that will lead us to different dimensions. Namjoon nodded and stepped back so he wouldn't distract the other.

"The Spell of Dimensions!" Jin said in a bold voice. Right after that, a bubble started making its way towards Jin. It then stayed right in front of his face. Jin touched it with both of his hands. His eyes then gradually turned into complete neon blue. His hair started rising up as if it had static energy in it. The spells were passing through his brain, giving him a chance to memorise them.

Namjoon was in extreme shock due to what was happening to his best friend. But he decided to not make a single sound because of what Jin said previously. After a while, Jin's hair went down. He closed his eyes and opened them again, they were back to normal. He put his hands back down and looked behind to see Namjoon in slight shock.

"Let's go, I am done memorising the spell."
