⩷1. My Life
Author's POV
Ring Ring!! The alarm clock yelled with its electronic sound. The eyes of the sleeping human opened. He turned his head and looked at the time, 6:50. An odd time to set on an alarm clock. But oh well, he was an odd human being. He closed the clock and groaned. It was still slightly dark so there was not quite sunlight to make him go blind early in the morning.
He sat up on his bed and stretched his arms and gave out a loud sigh. He really didn't want to go, but he had to go to university. He doesn't want to fail again. He quickly jumped out and made his bed. He grabbed the clothes that he prepared last night from the couch in the corner of the room and went inside the bathroom.
He came out wearing a white t-shirt topped with a completely unbuttoned olive coloured flannel shirt. He was also wearing black ankle jeans. He went to his mirror and did his almost non-existent skincare.
After that, he headed towards his study desk and grabbed all the necessary things such as a laptop, books, and pencil case. He shoved them all into his bag and hung it over his shoulder. He went downstairs and saw no one in the house. All of them had already left for work.
The boy went into the kitchen and grabbed an energy bar from one of the selves. He quickly went to the door, put on his white sneakers and ran outside after locking the house. He looked at the time again, 7:10. Today his class started at 8 so he had 50 minutes. He immediately started running to the train station that was close to his area.
He swiped his subway card for the gates to open. He went to the waiting area and stood there for a few minutes. In the wait, he took out his phone and wireless earbuds. He shoved a bud into one of his ears, he still wanted to be able to hear his surroundings. He turned on some classical music and started humming to it.
After a while, the train arrived and all the people including the guy went inside it. No one was in full-on rush because by this time mostly all the working people had already arrived at their destination. The ride was also very quick and peaceful. The boy was still listening to the classical movement until he heard an announcement. "Next stop is Hybe University" His college was extremely big, so there was a station just for his college.
He got himself ready and soon got out of the train. He stepped on the escalator and went up. He was soon hit with the bright light of the day. The sun rised 10 minutes ago. He continued walking towards the main gate and went to the law wing of the place.
Now, I am sure that a bit of introduction won't hurt. This guy's name is Namjoon, Kim Namjoon. He is in his early 20s and is a student at Hybe University's Law School. Yes, there are many different schools in this uni. He is studying to become a lawyer, specifically a criminal defence lawyer. Of course, he didn't want to be one, but he was forced to become a lawyer. He is majoring in criminal law and he is in his second year.
Namjoon is not your, super smart, or super dumb person. He is average, and when I say average, I mean AVERAGE. He is moderate academically. He isn't one of the most handsome people out there but he also isn't the ugliest. He doesn't have any friends. Now that doesn't mean that he is a shy introverted being. NO! He is actually more of an ambivert. It's just that people are just too busy and stressed to have a social life, including him. Namjoon likes making friends but nowadays, he isn't getting the opportunity to do so.
Namjoon is a personality that loves trying things in the fields that he likes. He wants to explore more things. He was a very cheerful and funny person on the outside. And the one thing that he wants is a friend that will be there in his journey. You see, all the friends that he made until now, have all...left him. They just didn't seem to like Namjoon. Maybe it's just because of how Namjoon was. He was a loud being. He was extremely loud when talking and laughing. That was a problem that he was very embarrassed of. He tried so hard to change it, but it never quite worked. He also wasn't quite liked in his class, he didn't really know why. I guess they just found him annoying for no reason. So yeah, people won't even try responding to him properly.
Though even after all of this, Namjoon remained chill. He wasn't always like this, though. Maybe it's all thanks to the counselling sessions.
He entered the library and went towards a table. He still had 30 minutes left before his lessons started. He decided to open his laptop and check if there was any other homework left to do. Luckily, he did all his work the day before the due date. It's just the way he was. He checked his schedule since he still didn't memorise it. He had a bad memory ok! He had criminology as his first subject. He had to admit, in this whole mess, criminology was the only thing that he found interesting. It was just so fascinating seeing the way that criminals have done things. It was just good for his inner dark soul.
Since there wasn't much to do, he decided on watching his favourite K drama, Vincenzo (a/n, It's actually my personal fav!) He smiled at the comedy and the amount of evilness the character had. Though, he had to stop all of this after a while. Classes were starting!
In Class
He entered the class and saw a majority of the people already in their seats. Namjoon went to the very back of the room. It was his habit, sitting in the very back of the lecture hall was just nice for him. He could do anything weird and no one will notice him and he could also focus without any distractions because most of the people don't sit that far. The professor entered the room and class started.
"As we all know, right now is a very stressful time for all of you. Exams and assignments are probably being thrown like bullets at you guys. And this means that you forgot how to be normal humans, meaning that you don't eat on time, sleep on time, socialise enough, and live like vampires with no sunlight. It's right, isn't it?" She asked after everyone was done taking notes. Many people nodded and Namjoon did too.
"So I was thinking that maybe what we could do is have a lesson outside like the people in the biology wing. I know, I know, there is no need to. But sometimes a slight change won't hurt. It will boost up your positivity. Now don't give me that, 'I don't like sunlight' face. You are also going to do a small task in pairs. It won't be too hard so don't worry. Now let's go, shall we?"
Some people whined at the teacher and some people smiled. Namjoon didn't really care. As long as it didn't add up to his homework and make him die more on the inside, he was fine.
The whole class was in the school garden. Some people were sitting, squatting, and laying down. Namjoon was sitting on the grass with his hair being blown by the wind. "Now please go choose a person that you would like to work with."
People picked their friends and people who seemed nice. And well since the number of students who were in the class was odd...one person had to get left all alone. And that was Namjoon! Yay! 😒 Namjoon was happy that he could do that task quickly since he was alone but slightly sad. He was fine though, he was used to it.
Lunch
The whole day wasn't very interesting, like almost every day. Usually during this time people socialise and spend time with their friends. Actually mostly the first-year students do that. Because the second and third-year students are wrecking their brains in the library. I can bet you that 50% of students in the library haven't even eaten their lunch yet.
Namjoon walked into the cafeteria and went to the counter. He bought a tray with a bit of food in it. He was walking to a random table until he saw his old friend, more like... ex-friend. "Wonho! Sup man!" Namjoon cheered with a smile on his face. He raised his hand and waved at him.
Wonho seemed to be with a few of his friends. He noticed his name being called and he looked at Namjoon. "Do you know him?" One of his friends asked him. They didn't seem like any gangsters, they were just normal students. "Um...n-no. I don't know who he is." Wonho said to his friends and Namjoon heard it. It kinda hurt him since Wonho pretended to not know him and just ignored him. But since there wasn't much he could do so he just went with it.
Let's just say that he wasn't life's favourite.
After Lessons
Right now Namjoon stood in the middle of the empty hall. He was conflicted between K-drama and homework. Should he do his homework or finish another episode of his K-drama? 'Maybe I will just do the homework and watch K-drama on the way to work.' He thought. Namjoon does work at a well-known cafe after his classes have finished. He can't be broke all the time. He went inside the library again and started doing his work.
At the evening
Namjoon entered his house after coming from work. He took off his shoe and yelled, "I am home." Nobody responded to anything but he did hear a bit of talking from the living room. Though, he went upstairs to his room. He needed a little bit of time to relax. After getting in his room he put his bag down and directly went to the bathroom with some clothes.
Namjoon came out of the bathroom with a loose grey coloured t-shirt and black baggy pants. He grabbed his laptop and went to his bed. He wanted to watch a new show called, Law School. He was sure that he could relate a lot to this show.
"Namjoon!" His mother yelled from downstairs, making Namjoon flinch. She doesn't usually call him unless it was to discuss something serious. Namjoon shut his laptop and stood up. He mentally prepared himself and took a deep breath.
So I know this chapter is kind of boring. This is supposed to be an introduction to Namjoon's life and his personality.
So...hope you like it!
