Alone. The only word Lucy Heartfilia has ever known through her childhood. She had spent her whole life surrounded by loneliness, only thing she ever wished for were friends...

Lucy spent her childhood in the mansion with her father and mother. Unfortunately, her mother died 2 years ago, and it effected Lucy a lot, that event might have been a final trigger to turn her into a depressed girl. After the tragic event happened, Lucy's father grew distant to her. He almost never talked to her, unless it was something about his business. She felt so alone in the world. Like everyone was there, she could see them, but they couldn't see her.

Now, she's 17. She's in the best guild of Fiore  called Fairy Tail. She decided to join the guild as an excuse, so no one could tell the silent suffering she goes through every day. How could someone think she is depressed when she's surrounded by her hyperactive friends? How could someone think she is depressed when there's always a smile plastered on her face? Easy, no one could and that was the beauty of it. She could be smiling the biggest smile ever, and you wouldn't know that her soul was breaking apart.

Lucy tiredly opened her eyes, she looked on the clock, it wrote 7:30am. Last night, she passed out at around 4am, she didn't get a lot of sleep, but she was already used to it. She doesn't remember the last time when she slept for more then five hours. She stretched her arms and continued laying in bed.

She was tired, so tired. But not the kind of tired you would've hoped for. If you asked her if she was okay, of course she would say 'yes, only tired'. But no one ever cared enough to ask what was she tired of. Honestly, she didn't even want anyone to ask. She couldn't say that she was tired of crying herself to sleep every damn night, she couldn't say that she was tired of opening up to people only for them to stab her in the back, she couldn't tell she was tired of this pain, she couldn't say that she was battling her own poisoned mind on a daily basis. She was tired of living. But the worst thing was the feeling of numbness or everything at once, nothing in between.

After an hour of just lying in bed, she finally got a tiny bit of strength to pull herself out of it. She stumbled to the bathroom and put a lot of concealer under her eyes to hide dark circles that were surrounding them. No one understood how difficult it was to wake up every day and continue going out, and the only thing you would be looking forward would be going back in the bed.

She put her favorite blue outfit that perfectly hugged her curves. Even though she looked stunning in it, she still didn't feel pretty at all. She smiled a bit as she looked at the mirror, a thought came to her, 'Fat. Look at your legs, and don't even get me started about that stomach..'. Her head lowered, why would she even think she could pull that outfit off.. she stepped back to her closet and changed into grey hoodie and jeans.

"Oi, Lu-chan! Good morning!" A blue haired girl shouted from across the guild as Lucy came through the guilds big wooden door. Levy was Lucy's good friend, but not even she knew her suffering, nor her secret.

"Hey, Levy-chan, what's up?" She said as a fake smile was plastered on her face, it was so easy to fake it, you do it too, don't you?

That fake smile you wear every day to prevent people asking the basic question with no feeling behind it whatsoever, 'are you okay?'.. you always lie, but that's okay, because you're always fine... right?

"Just reading this awesome new novel I got, what's up with you?"

"Oh.. I just came here for a little while to see all of you and I'll head home soon.." she said, not taking off her 'smile'.

"Okay..." she said and continued reading her book.

The day has passed pretty slowly, so Lucy wanted to go home as soon as possible. While walking she saw a figure. It looked somehow familiar, she stared at it for a little while and figure clearly felt her stare and turned around. Lucy was startled to see who it was. The man was big looking and was wearing a suit, he had blonde beard and strict look on his face.

Lucy froze at the sight, she tried to move, to run away.. but her body just wouldn't budge. Her father came closer to her and aggressively grabbed her wrist.

"You. I've been looking for you, young lady. What are you doing wandering off from your home? You're coming with me right this instant!" He said as his grip tightened, he began pulling Lucy with him as she struggled to jerk her hand back.

"No! I'm not going back! Open, gate of the maiden, Virgo!" She pulled out the key as it began glowing. The maid spirit appeared.

"Time for punishment, princess?" She asked.

"No, just.. please help me.." she pleaded as Virgo rushed and dug a hole underneath Jude, he fell in and in shock, let Lucy's wrist go.

He yelled from the hole all kinds of insults at her, and every single one got to her. How couldn't they, they were coming from her own father after all..

"You good for nothing daughter! You deserved everything bad that has ever happened to you! You are unworthy! Hell is the only place good for you, ya hear?!" He shouted and it caused few lights to turn on in some houses near by. Lucy knew someone would get him out of there so she didn't worry about that.

"Yes, father.." she said, sadly smiling at him and walking off.

The first chapter is done! I'm kinda proud with how it came out! It might be boring, but its important for the storyline. Also, thank you for reading!
