"Miss Heartfilia, we are able to let you go back to your home now." The man spoke calmly, avoiding eye contact with the blonde.

"Those are great news, thank you." She smiled and glanced at the boy beside her. He returned the smile before looking at the doctor, waiting to see if he'll continue.

"Mr. Dragneel, could I talk to you outside?"

"Yeah, sure."

They stepped outside on the hallway. Some nurses passed by, but payed no attention at the two.

"Mr. Dragneel, I would advise you to spend as much time as you possibly can with your loved one. Her condition has not changed and there's nothing we can do anymore. The best thing would be for you to take her home and give her love." The man spoke with sympathy.

Natsu nodded his head calmly before going back inside. He noticed the blonde sitting up and packing few of her belongings into a plastic bag.

"I just need to change and then we can go." She said and entered the bathroom.

Pink haired boy sat back down on the bed, his hands grabbing tightly the sheets Lucy slept in. His heart ached from the thought of losing her. He took a few deep breaths to calm down.

He felt like he was drowning and there was no hope of him being saved. The blackness of his memories about her in that hospital bed started spreading through his mind, clouding his thoughts and taking him back to places he never wanted to revisit. Just when he thought all hope was lost he hear her voice calling his name. It was like a ray of light in the darkness of his worries. It guided him back to reality. He felt her take his hands in hers, pulling him into her arms like a child. The worried die down, she tells him everything is alright, that it is all just a distant memory. He rests his head on her chest.

"Hey.. you okay?" Blonde asked, rubbing his back.

"Yeah... I am now.."

- few days later -

"Luce, you ready?" He yelled out as he entered her house.

"Yeah!" She answered from the bathroom, as she stepped outside the world seemed to stop for the boy.

She wore a light summer type dress with flower design printed all over it. It was tight around the upper part of her body and then scattered on the lower part where it ended, a bit above her knees.

Natsu looked at her figure with a smile plastered on his face and sparkly flickered behind her.

"Let's go!" She cheered as she grabbed him by the hand and they rushed out the door.

"Oh.. this is even more beautiful then the last time I saw it.." she let her thoughts out.

"Yeah.. it really is." He agreed. The boy set the blanket above the green grass and placed a basket in the middle. He began packing the food out of it while the blonde still admired their surroundings.

"You know... the last time I was here was when we.. um.." she started.

"Yeah.. I remember." He got up from the grass and wrapped his hands around her waist. He dug his head in her neck as he planted few small kisses.

"Shall we eat, my lady?" He joked as he offered his hand to her, which she gladly accepted. They sat down and ate in silence.

"I don't think I say this enough... You do know I love you, right?" Natsu said while munching.

"I know. Also, it's so romantic when you say it with your mouth full." She rolled her eyes.

"Sorry about that." He swallowed.

After they finished eating, Natsu kept replaying the same sentence in his head. He worried if it was too soon...

"Luce, listen.. The moment I saw you for the very first time will be stuck into my memory till the end of the days because it was the evening when the course of my life radically changed its direction. I remember Levy introducing us to one another.

I keep in the sanctuary of my heart every minute we shared because from the first moment I was totally overwhelmed by you.

I don't know how it had been possible to live without your support and cheerfulness, without listening to you singing and watching you dancing when you think nobody sees. I love dreaming with you because you understand me as no one ever could. I love being ill if I know that you will be near and take care of me. We both want to have a colorful and memorable life, and together we can make our dreams come true.

I promise to do everything I only can to be a perfect match for you and to become a husband you deserve. I want to become your happily-ever-after, and I will do my best for your incredible smile to never fade. You are the greatest and the most precious gift given to me by this life, so I wish the whole world knew about my infinite and limitless love for you.

I'm looking forward to the day when my last name will become ours. You are the one I want to be for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. My voice is trembling, and my heart beats at a furious pace since I hope you will say yes and make me the luckiest man alive. Luce, will you marry me?" He said as the ring was already in front of her.

Blonde covered her mouth with her hands as the tears poured down her face. She slowly nodded and it was all it took for Natsu to stand back up with the biggest smile you could ever imagine. He slowly placed the ring on her hand before taking her in his arms and kissing her passionately to lock this moment.

"You've made my life so much better, Natsu. More than I've ever hoped it could be, I really do love you with all my heart.." she smiled as their kiss broke.

"Me too, Luce. Me too.."
