I needed to get my mind off Will. I decided I would see that new Harry Potter movie, as I heard it was good. I left the castle and headed for the movies.

I had eaten earlier, although I hadn't eaten much.

I was in cat form and someone almost tripped over me. It was Octavian. "Watch where you're going."

I was in the shadows now.

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. Yeah this definitely going to be good.

I was wondering the area to get snacks while I waited for the movie to get close to starting.

I bought a popcorn while doing so.

Then I walked into the theater.

Well, this is where things went wrong.

I bumped into Octavian. Except this time he was different.

Octavian was a neko. That's why he was always wearing a hat while I saw him. He was hiding his ears.

So I bumped into him in the theater and fell, spilling my popcorn on the floor.

"Watch out, freak." Octavian snarled. Then he stormed off.

Someone ran over and helped me clean everything up. Then the person helped me up.

I looked up, about to say thank you.

"Nico?!"

"Will?" I exclaimed.

He must have saw the tear stains on my face. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, listen, Will, I've been thinking...."

How do I explain this?

"Okay."

"I'm really sorry. I-I just thought you didn't actually like me."

"Nico, why would you think that?"

"Because you're a king and I'm nothing but a lousy neko."

Why else?

"No, Nico, I love, you!"

"I-I'm really sorry. A-and I'd understand if you don't want to go out with me anymore...."

I felt tears threaten to spill.

"No, Nico, I love you so much! So let's start over, okay?"

I nodded. "Okay."

He's giving me a second chance? Why? I was rude to him....

"Nico, will you go out with me?"

I smiled and said, "Yes. Yes, I will."

------time skip to three days later------

"I don't understand why I have to wear this." I said, looking down at the ugliest reindeer sweater ever.

"Because it's Christmas!" Will beamed, "Didn't the nekos get a day off or something on Christmas?"

"No." I turned my head away, blushing. I don't like talking about when I was still a servant. "But I celebrated it with Bianca and Hazel before I was taken as a servant. I don't remember when or what it was though."

"Oh. Well, it's a day that we give eachother presents and be happy. There's a pine tree that we call a Christmas tree that we decorate. We have cookies and milk. Does it ring a bell?"

"No. Wait, I was supposed to get you a present?!" I said, panicking.

I didn't even know today was a holiday! I didn't even remember what Christmas was!
Oh gods, this isn't good.

"It's fine, Nico. You didn't have to."

"Are you sure? I don't want to ruin your Christmas or anything...."

"No, it's fine. Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones."

"Okay...."

Then someone opened the door to the bedroom we were in. We had both been sitting on the bed.

"Nico! It's Christmas!" It was Hazel, and after her the rest of our friends.

Hazel ran in and hugged me.

"I know, Will told me."

"You mean you didn't already know?"

"Well, we didn't have holidays as servants. I-I didn't remember when we used to celebrate very much. And I didn't know when it was."

"Oh. Well, merry Christmas! I brought a present for you!"

"Hazel, I'm really sorry. I didn't know it was Christmas, so I didn't know I was supposed to get gifts...."

"It's okay, Nico. I understand."

"Thanks," I said gratefully.

Soon we were all sitting next to a Christmas tree, laughing, talking, telling stories and smiling. It was really fun.

I haven't smiled so much in my life.

At one point Will said it was present time. I helped to pass out the presents that were under the tree.

This one is for....Jason....

I kept passing them out until there were no more.

I had a pile of presents, I found, too. One from each person. Except Will, who got me two.

And two extra. One from my mom, and one from my dad.

I was so excited. "My mom and dad got me something!"

Hazel laughed. I still hadn't seen my parents, so Hazel brought messages between the two of us.

"Well, of course." Hazel giggled.

I opened my presents. My mom had gotten me a phone! An actual phone!

Except, I don't exactly know how to work a phone. Oops?

Will had to show me. "So this button is called a home button. See? And if you press this one, it turns on."

"Okay....what do these do?"

"Those are the volume buttons. And this switch? That mutes it. So it doesn't have any sound."

"Okay. Now what happens when I turn it on?"

"You can take pictures, play games, search things, or text or call people."

"What happens when I press this?"

"That's an app. It's called notes. It's like a notepad."

"Okay." I opened the notes app and gasped.

There was a note from my parents.

"Nico!" My mom gasped.

"Mom! I can't believe this! Merry Christmas!" I said.

"Merry Christmas to you, too!"

We both had tears of joy rolling down our cheeks. Everyone watched my first seeing my parents for the first time in forever.

"Is dad there?" I asked.

"Yeah! Hades, come here!" She said. I heard my dad approach. "It's Nico!"

I saw Hades Di Angelo enter the picture. "Nico....my son...."

My tail swished around behind me and I held the small device.

"Dad!" I said, "Merry Christmas!"

"And merry Christmas to you, too." He too, was teary eyed.

"I'd like to visit you guys sometime. When is the next free time you have?"

"Um, I think next Tuesday."

I looked at Will to make sure he was okay with me leaving. He nodded, excited for me.

"Great! I'll see you then!"
