Recap:
"Hey Knoccie, what's up?" I asked.

"Meet us at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We had to rush Eazy here because he was having a hard time breathing. Come meet us now."

"Okay give me about twenty minutes."

After I hung up, I headed to the hospital. Lord please don't let it be any bad news. I know me and Eric aren't speaking anymore but I still care for him and I don't want anything bad to happen to him. I love him, I will always love him no matter what.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center February 24, 1995
-Aaliyah's POV-

When I got to the hospital, I checked in and went straight to Eric's room. This is the first time I've seen Eric since I moved out.

"Are you okay?" I asked while I rubbed his forehead.

"Yeah I am now. I don't know what was wrong with me earlier. Thanks for coming."

"You're welcome."

"So you going to stay mad at me forever?"
he asked.

"I have every reason to."

"I know I fucked up," he said.

I tried not to look him in the eye because I don't want to start crying. Him being in the hospital is bad enough.

His doctor finally walked in. But when he got in the room, he didn't say a word. He's about to tell us some bad news, I know it.

"Aren't you gonna say something? What's the problem is it a respiratory infection, asthma, pneumonia?" I asked.

"Well actually it's related. The tests results are in and I'm so sorry Mr. Wright but you've tested positive for HIV."

"Get the fuck outta here," Eric responded.

"I'm sorry wait what?" I asked in confusion.

"Okay so here's what's going on with your body. CD4 or T-cells are a type of white blood cell that play a major role in protecting your body from infection. They send signals to activate your body's immune response when they detect viruses and bacteria. Once a person is infected with HIV, the virus begins to attack and destroy the T-cells of their immune system. A healthy person's T-cell range should be between 600 to 1200. Your T-cell range is 14."

My heart was beating so fast, I can probably see it through my chest. This got to be a mistake. Eric can't be HIV positive.

"But I aint no faggot," he said.

"Mr. Wright the virus can also be spreaded by unprotected heterosexual sex."

"That's not right. You need to test that again, test it over."

"Yes please take another test," I said.

"We took 5 tests with 5 different samples and they all came back positive."

"SHIT!" I screamed while leaving the room.

I couldn't hear anymore. Eric had to lay there and hear his doctor tell him that he has HIV.
I ran to the bathroom, stood in one of the stalls, and cried my eyes out. If this nigga gave me HIV.... and on top of that, if he gave it to me then that means our unborn child is going to have it!

I know that I need to get tested immediately. Eric, you better hope and pray that I'm HIV negative.
