"Yo Chie!" Someone called as Chie was adding the final touch to her room's decoration in the NX headquarters, something she likes doing, and she glanced upwards, her eyes lit up when she realised who is it, because it is one of her seniors in the NX who she is always close to, other than the members of the NX elite team of course.

"Hey Alex! What's up?" Chie asked cheerfully as she hugged Alex tightly, making Alex twirl for a while before setting Chie onto the ground, sighing softly with a soft smile because he knew that he couldn't blame Chie for being childish like this since Chie is the youngest among the NX elite members admist her high IQ, and he love her like an older brother does to a younger sister.

"Nothing. I just want to see what my favourite younger sister is doing." Alex said cheerfully, gently ruffling Chie's hair, making Chie pout, batting Alex's hand away, and Alex laughed, his facial expression softening just a fraction, making Chie laugh too after a while, both of them chuckling until their belly hurts.

"Alex... I'm sorry..." Chie said after their laughter died down, making Alex glance at her, his head tilting to the side a bit, wondering what Chie was sorry about.

"I'm sorry that I had taken your spot as a member of the NX. I just... it's not fair you know...that I am a member of the NX elite team and not you, never you, and that it is not fair because you have more experience in my kind of field than me, since I am still learning about my place in all of this..." Alex chuckled softly, before shaking his head, a small smile on his face.*

"Chie,.... it's not about experience. Of course, experience is important, but you already have the skills in investigation and infiltration. It's just that you didn't have the experience in using it and that is already good, no, way better than normal people like me who needs to build up on those skills,... and NX needs people like you, people like the rest of the NX elite team." Alex said softly with a soft smile, gently and reassuringly patting Chie on the head, ruffling her hair a bit, and Chie smiled before sighing, staring at the sky, still feeling guilty of taking Alex's place just because of her smarts.

"Alex....I....I need some time to think about it.... I'm still guilty of taking your place like this. You deserve the world..." Alex sighed softly at Chie's words, knowing that it is true, but he didn't mind facing the challenges head on, in fact, he enjoyed it.

"YOU deserve the world, Chie, not me. After all, you had suffered more than I did, and as your brother, even if we are not blood related, I still care about you and want the best for you."
Alex said firmly with a soft smile, gently patting Chie's head before standing up, pulling Chief with him, and Chie cried out in alarm as Alex pulled Chie on the arm into a place that Chief doesn't know, making Chie gasp when she saw the greenery that surrounds Alex and her, making Alex smile.

"Chie, I know that you still feel guilty about me not getting into the NX elite team, but I'm fine, I really am. I'm just happy that you get to meet those amazing people and enjoy your life as a member of the NX elite team, and for me, that is my greatest wish, to see you happy." Alex said softly, smiling softly at Chie, and Chie felt tears prickling in her eyes, and she hugged Alex tightly, not wanting to let him go.

"I love you big bro!" Chie declared, hugging Alex tightly as she did so, and Alex smiled softly, hugging Chief back as tight, and he whispered the words that he wanted to say to Chie for so long.

"I love you too, Chie. Big brother will always love you, forever and ever."

"Big brother...." Chie mumbled as she felt tears trailing down her cheeks, staring blankly at the clock on her wall, until she heard Ryo calling her name, telling her to be ready to head out, and Chie quickly snapped out of her reverie, quickly wiping her tears, and she quickly took her detective coat and left her room, smiling softly as she took one last glance at the framed picture of her and Alex playing at the backyard of the same orphanage when they were younger, that was sitting on her shelf, and Chie knew that in her heart that it is the memory that she will cherish forever.

"Thank you....Alex. Thank you for believing in me when no one would... Goodbye.....Big bro....."

Hey guys, this is the mini chapter for this story and I am sorry that I have to go on hiatus for this week and next week, because there are a lot of things that I have to do, with my two new books that I am writing, and I don't have any time since my internship is starting soon, so I have to rush on my updates but hey, it's not that bad! Anyways, I hope you all love the mini chapter, and I hope that you guys will continue to support me. Chapter 4 of Behind Closed Doors will be released during the 21st of December, but if I can release it next Saturday, I will let you all know.
