Chapter 49: War- The person you love
"Breaking news: The League of Villians has officially declared war on the Heroes. Bombs and fires have erupted across Japan in a widespread attack. Casualties at 29. The instigator of this war was Izuku Midoriya, a sixteen year old boy with black hair and red or green eyes. If you find him, DO NOT ENGAGE. Find the nearest hero and inform them."
"Terrorist movements are breaking out across the world. This is utter madness!"
"We are entering a new world war."
"Take caution and hide away!"
Hisashi turned off the Tv, leaning back with a heavy sigh. Despite being oceans apart, the scale of the war was felt even in America, through copycats and followers. However, for his own child to be the instigator of such a battle was unnerving. The child who loved heroes more than anyone was well on his way to wiping them out.
He had watched Izuku's broadcast. Somehow, he had hijacked satellites, displaying his message, if you could even call it that, across the world. Many had no idea what he was saying, due to him being Japanese. But Hisashi knew.
He knew what was happening.
"Hisashi."
Hisashi turned to the doorway, teary-eyed and fearful. In the doorway was his wife, backpacks and ticket in her hands.
"Inko?"
Inko walked up to him, dropping one of the bags on him and handing him a ferry ticket.
"Let's get our son back."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Screams of terror rang out through the streets as fires warmed their terrified faces. Heroes weaved in and out of streets hoping to save any citizens trapped under rubble. Children ran around, calling out to parents, siblings friends whom they had lost. Loud explosion shook the city, with collapsing buildings being and after effect.
"Bakugo! What the hell should we do?!"
Bakugo stared around, noticing the planes circling above them, like they did near All Mights agency. "SHIT! RUN, QUICK!"
Bakugo and Kirishima each grabbed one the two children and dove away with Mina and Sero. A few metres behind them, an explosion knocked them all forward, nearly sending them two their knees. The children cried out, grabbing their ears in a false sense of safety.
Bakugo and Kirishima put the children with some nearby adults and turned to the other two. Bakugo paused, before taking out his phone, sending a message to the class.
"Just like we practiced. Go and save people, you fuckers!"
Bakugo turned back to the three, nodding to them. "Mina, create an escape route using your acid to get the people out the city. Momo should come with reinforcements to help you."
"O-Oh right!"
"Sero, go reinforce buildings with your tap. Focus on highly populated areas. Also, make escape nets for people trapped in buildings."
"Yeah!"
"Kirishima, can you use your quirk fully?"
"Umm, a little. It's not to the standard it was."
"Figures...Okay, go help guide people out the city with Mina. Use your quirk only when you have to."
"Okay. But, what about you?"
Bakugo turned, looking at one of the planes that circled about the city.
"I'm going to find Izuku."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dabi, I'm sending you to the northern district. Focus on Endeavours agency and Tokyo bank."
"Fine, fine."
Dabi left the room, using a portal Izuku supplied. Izuku walked to the window, watching the city erupt into flames and rubble. He really didn't want to involve the citizens, but in their current situation, there wasn't much of a choice. He was still against mass genocide, despite his nickname, so he wasn't about to kill everyone in Japan. It was just the issue of Hero agencies being based around populated areas for obvious reasons.
Eri hovered behind him, hesitantly watching the city exploding, sending her cowering back behind his leg.
"Eri, it's okay if you want to leave. I don't really want you seeing this anyway."
Eri shook her head defiantly, taking his hand, quivering slightly. "N-no. I promised that...I would help you." Izuku sighed, patting her on the head. "This really isn't something you should help with."
"Izuku? Why are you...hurting these people?"
Izuku turned to her, eyebrow cocked slightly. "Well, these people didn't help us when we needed it. They didn't help you escape Chisaki and they didn't help me either. Everyone in the league have been affected by these people beliefs. Everyone here was hurt by the heroes."
Eri nodded her head slightly, shoulders raised to her chin, slightly uncomfortable. "Were they supposed to help me...?"
"Yes. And they didn't."
"You did."
"Yes. I don't want anyone else to go through what you went though."
Eri looked up at Izuku. His eyes were a little scary. They were red, glowing an bright hue. A little like hers. "Izuku..?"
"Hmm?"
"What are you going to do?"
"Me? I'm waiting for someone to come."
"Who?"
Izuku smiled slightly, moving away from the window, looking towards the doorway.
"An old friend from my childhood."

Toga stood on the plane, holding onto the wall as she watched the world below her explode. The plane juttered as it flew across the city that was engulfed in flames, smoke rising from the ashes of once thriving areas.
She could see heroes running around, hoping to get a bearing on the situation and help civilians escape the rubble.
"Toga! I'm dropping the bomb! Stay away from the centre!"
"Roger!"
In an instant, the floor next to her gave away, the change in pressure almost pulling her down. Above the trapdoor was a bomb, which was now hurtling down onto the city.
"Toga! Where do you need to get off?!"
"Near the central!"
The plane took a dive downward, not so steep that she lost her footing but enough to make her stomach churn. Toga scowered the fiery pit below, looking for a landing spot.
There, she found a lamp post that hadn't been completely demolished. "Thanks for the ride!"
Toga leapt out of the plane, aiming herself for to the pole, which she hastily gripped, pulling her self back up. It was a good thing they weren't to high, or she may be dead.
Toga stood on the lamp post, staring at the ground, looking for any opponents to face her. The streets were filled with people, all horrified as they watched Toga jump from the plane and quivered as she stared over them.
"Oi!"
Toga turned her attention to a girl with purple hair, and long dangling attachments to her ears. She stood in front of the crowd with hatred layered over her face. She looked familiar, but not exactly eye catching.
"Well, helloooooo! Who are you?"
"You are with Izuku, right?! You are a part of the league, right!?"
"That wasn't a good answer to my question..."
"ANSWER ME!"
"Jesus, what's your deal? Yes I am, so what?"
The girl gritted her teeth, one of her ear mutations grew, flying towards Toga at incredible speeds. Toga jumped of the lamp post, landing on the ground with a thud. The crowd began to back away as Toga looked at them with a devilish smile. The girl staggered, tears pricking at her eyes.
"YOU KILLED HIM! YOU KILLED KAMINARI!"
"Last time I checked, he's still alive."
"SHUT UP!"
The girl sent her headphone Jack's at her again, this time with rapid motions, like a whip. "YOU KILLED HIS SPIRIT! THATS MORE THAN ENOUGH!"
Toga smiled approaching the girl while dodging her attacks. "I get it. You love pikachu, don't you? Jirou, wasn't it? I saw your name in the files!"
Jirous staggered back once again, continuing her rapid fire attacks on Toga. "I have someone I love too! I get it! You care so much that your heart just wants to burst out and chase them!"
Jirou began avidly targeting critical points. The heart, the throat, the brain. She was blinded by her rage against Toga.
"And now you want to kill me to avenge your love!"
"SHUT UP!"
Jirou attacked the lamp post, causing it to become unhinged. With her earphone Jack's, she attempted to pull the pole onto Toga, in an attempt to crush her.
"But, I can't die Jirou. I have to live for the person I love! With that in mind, I have a suprise for you!"
Toga's body began to shift, being consumed by a grey sludge. It began to convuse before collapsing to the ground. Jirous eyes went wide as her earjack's froze in place.
"Izuku gives me all kinds of blood. From heroes to civilians. I figured I would use some here!"
Toga emerged from the sludge with yellow hair, with a black lightning bolt going through the centre. She looked taller, with a more muscular build. Her voice was also deeper and more familiar. "Tell me, Jirou."
Jirou took a step back, shaking slightly as she watched Toga take a step forward. Her eyes were open, with a toothy smile consuming her entire face.
"Can you kill the person you love?"

Dabi knees slightly buckled as he looked before Endeavour's hero agency. Its luminescent shine from the abundance of windows and lights, though overshadowed by the overbearing flames that covered the city.
Torment boiled over in his mind as he recounted his father, and his values he would stand for. The agonising lectures and abusive talk towards him and his siblings. Constantly being told they weren't enough, or that they weren't exactly what he wanted, or that they couldn't surmount to their youngest sibling, whom he beat down over and over and over.
Well fuck him.
Dabi stared at Endeavour's agency, bidding it a final farewell, before releasing his energy onto the skyscraper, causing it to erupt into a sapphire blaze. Shades of blue and Indigo danced as it climbed the glass walls of the agency, pulling them into their deadly waltz.
Lights blurred and glazed, overwhelmingly so, almost to the point were it distracted from the original bonfire. People surrounded the building, eyes widened and scared, before seeing Dabi and fleeing.
"Hey Touya..."
Dabi's eyes flew open, turning away from the building, hands shaking from the mention of that god awful name. There, standing not to far away, was a hetero chromatic- haired boy, with similar mismatched eyes. His expression displayed one of understanding, yet hesitancy as his gaze drifted to the burning building.
"You did it, didn't you? You joined the league."
Dabi seized his attack on the building, instead turning towards the familiar face. "Hey Todoroki..."
Dabi's eyes wandered to the bruises and burns on his exposed arms, and his defeated expression. "He did that...that son of a bitch.."
Todoroki looked away, discomfort radiant on his face. "Why do you care...?" Dabi took a tentative step forward, arm outward.
"Look, I know you may not trust me, but this life is far better than the one with fa- Endeavour. Join me and show him the error of his ways."
"I have these marks due to my own volition."
"What..?"
Todoroki gripped his teeth, turning toward the giant building, freezing it with a single step. Then, he took his fire and instantly melted the ice, putting out the fire that surrounded the place. Burns and scorns cascaded up the building, reflecting the boys arm.
"I trained with father by my own choice. I chose to undertake that responsibility."
"Why the hell would you do that?! That guys a raging sociopath!"
"Says you." Todoroki said, seething slightly as cold air escaped his mouth. Dabi grutted his teeth, engulfing his body in flames.
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
"I don't need your sympathy."

Bakugo sprinted up the building fire escape, avoiding the fire which, ironically, surrounded it until he managed to get onto the roof of the building. It was damaged and cracked, but it gave him leverage for what he needed to do.
Bakugo stood at the edge of the roof, minding the height and focused on the plane in front. In a swift motion, Bakugo activated One for All, sending himself forward in a singular movement, sending him flying to the opposite side of the roof. Taking a leap, he jumped of the roof, landing on the roof of one of the planes. Using his explosion quirk, he melted the metal roof slightly, giving him a better grip.
Bakugo breathed lightly due to the high altitude, shuffling down from the roof of the plane before landing on the opened base. Villians operated guns aimed at heroes, leaving a large opening.
Bakugo punched one guy of the plane, sending him flying down to the ground leaving the gun un-operated. Various other villians charged at him, only to meet the same fate as their comrades.
Bakugo searched the plane, eventually finding the door to the cockpit. Slowly, Bakugo opened the door, only for his face to nearly be blown apart from a gunshot. With ringing ears, Bakugo grabbed the co-pilots gun while putting the pilot in a semi-chokehold. The plane was on automatic, so this wasn't much of an issue.
Bakugo pulled the gun from the co-pilot, smacking him on the head with it, knocking him out. He, then dropped the gun, turning the pilots chair to face him. The plane shook slightly as it was moved off course in a straight line.
"I have to take control of the plane! We may crash!"
"Not a problem for me. I've dealt with worse explosions. Now, if you want to live, you are going to answer my question."
Bakugo pulled the pilot close, allowing him to see the red bolt discharging of his irises. His face was deadly serious as he grabbed the pilots shoulder.
"Where is Izuku?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Look Inko, I don't know how you plan to get back to Japan during a war, but if you have an idea, I would love to hear it."
"I have an old friend who runs a ferry company. He came to America on a job but is going back for his family. I called to ask if we could go."
"So you want to go on a ferry?"
"I know, ferries are generally slow, but we should be able to make it in a day or two."
"A day?!"
Inko sighed, breaking the car at the stop lights. "I remember my son for a few hours, and now he has started a war. At this point, I don't care how long it takes. I'm going to my son."
Hisashi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "He may not be the boy we knew..."
Inko grabbed her husbands hand, her expression softer and more friendly. "He may be different, but he will always be our child."
Inko turned back to the road as the light changed.
"And I will get him back."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izuku shivered slightly as Eri stared up at him. "Are you okay?"
"Huh...? Yeah, I'm fine."
Izuku walked back to his desk only to hear a rumble escalating up the staircase. He smiled, sitting up straight. Izuku turned to Eri, grabbing her and placing her under the desk. "Eri, no matter what, do not come out. I will deal with this."
Eri's face morphed into one of confusion as Izuku smiled, leaving her in the office as he walked away. He strolled down the corridors and explosions rang out through the building, echoing through the empty walls.
Izuku came to a halt as he saw the blonde boy staring back at him, a burning look standing him down. His eyes glowed a sharp red as Izuku's emitted one of green in response. Izuku smiled as the boy straightened his back again, his gaze burning into Izuku.
"Well, well, well, you found me." Izuku said, clapping his hands in a sarcastic tone. "Whoop-Dee-freaking-doo."
"Why...?"
"Huh? I couldn't hear you over the burning fire outside."
"Why are you doing this?!"
"Hmm? Doing what? Starting the war?" Izuku chuckled, his mouth forming a wicked smile. "You know damn well why."
"Yeah, I do. Because of what I did."
"That, and all the other shit I was put through. But, yeah, let's just gloss over that."
"But, that is no justification for murder!"
"Says you. You left your mentally damaged classmates to fend for themselves. You were practically asking for corruption."
"So it's true? You killed Uraraka."
"Tut tut tut." Izuku grinned again, sarcasm dripping from his voice. "You should know that I didn't kill her, you saw the broadcast. That would be your friend. Kaminari, was it?"
"Yeah, you manipulated him..."
"That I will take credit for."
"Credit?!" Bakugo fired an explosion at Izuku which he effortlessly dodged. "PEOPLE ARE DEAD!"
"Yeah, kinda realised. Look, I know you didn't come here to lecture me."
Bakugo's head bowed as his hair swayed slightly as One for All courses through his veins, lighting up his entire body. Izuku sighed in response, mimicking Bakugo's display with his own power.
"Guess it's finally time. I get to finally kill you."
"Tch, like that will happen."
"O-kay, mr 'King Explosion Murder' "
"Izuku."
Izuku froze as Bakugo said his name. Just his name. Bakugo smiled, lifting his head in confidence and an almost smugness, similar to his younger days.
"I will defeat you, once and for all."
