-May 17th, 2018: a giant gaping hole has appeared in the skies of Japan, giving off readings of Nuclear Energy.

-May 25th, 2018: a Large Iguana like creature known as Akua dropped out of the portal-like hole and started to rampage through Kyoto before being decapitated by a much larger creature, similar to something out of an old monster movie which later died after being nuked by the Japanese Government

-May 26th, 2018: While cleaning up the mess left over by the now dead creatures, a human-like being was found dead alongside the second giant beast. The being shared multiple features with the beast it was found near. Meanwhile a large tear in space and time appeared along the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

After these incidents more and more monsters have started to appear, both from the sky, and the sea. Some of these monsters have been seen to share appearances and abilities with legendary beasts of the Cinema, ranging from a giant radioactive dinosaur, to a giant gorilla, and even a fire-spitting turtle. Human-like partners have been seen traveling along with the beasts they share similarities to, these beings have been dubbed "Kaijoids".

As the months and years pass, more and more Kaiju start to appear, and the hole in the sky starts to slowly give off more energy.
