Ji Mina's POV

"It has been two weeks since the disappearance of Ku Yoona, and marks the third disappearance of young women in the Seoul area. Officials are still looking for the two other missing women: Kim Haneul and Park Hyejin, who disappeared 27 days ago and 43 days ago respectively. Reporters have been-"

"Turn that crap off!" My mum yelled from the kitchen. "All we hear about nowadays are damn kidnappings, it makes everyone think that women are stupid and weak!"
"Mum!" I retorted. "How can you say that when three girls are missing?"
"We'll surely it's there fault, no?" She asked. "They shouldn't make themselves targets for creepy middle-aged men."

I took a deep breath and sighed, remembering that arguing with my mum was a futile act. Unlike my mother, I tend to be quite passive like my father and avoid arguments. I guess that's why he left my mum, it was always what she wanted, not what they wanted.

People should always be considerate towards one another, and you should always consider someone else's feelings before making a decision that could effect the other person. This was something my mum never did for my dad, which eventually led him to do the same, but on a much larger scale - divorce.

My mum always puts up a front, saying she's happier than ever without him and that she doesn't need a man to make her happy, but I know that what she says isn't true. She wasn't happy when they divorced, but then I guess after everything she decided to consider my father's feelings before making her decision.

"Dinner's ready!" She called, and I waddled into the kitchen, leaving my phone on the sofa. Sitting down in front of the plate of food, I hummed with happiness and the delicious looking meal.

"Thank you for the food!" I smiled, before digging in.
"Mhh, you better be thankful." My mum sighed. "You're cooking next time."
"Me? Cook?" I scoffed. "I mean, if you're okay with me accidentally burning the house down then go for it." After all, I am my mother's child.

"Look at you." She sighed. "Twenty one years old and you can't even cook a meal, you'll have to get married fast to a man that can cook for you."
"I thought that you lived by the policy of not needing a man to be happy." I retorted after a short pause.
"I live by that rule." She told me. "You're faint hearted just like your father, so being with someone would be better for you." She then lowered her voice a little. "I just pray to god you find the right man." And the table went quiet again.

"Where's your brother anyway?" My mum huffed, standing up from the table and heading towards the stairs.
"Mingyu!" She cried. "Stop playing your goddamn eggs-box and get to the table!" A few moments later a thud could be heard from upstairs, as Mingyu made his way across the landing before approaching the stairs.
"It's called an Xbox mum!" He huffed, stomping down and heading for the kitchen.

It's hard to believe this guy is sixteen...

After our meal I went back to the living room and checked my phone, seeing I received a notification from one of my social media sites.
