After multiple, excruciating hours, Violet sat in the middle of her office at work; piles of crumpled paper on her desk, the floor and pouring out of the bin by her feet. Violet was trying to write down her feelings in an attempt to send Draco a letter on how they shouldn't see each other anymore, let alone work during the same hours but she just couldn't find the right words. Every time her pen touched paper, she began telling him how much she loved him and all of a sudden finding so many reasons why they should be together after all.

The kiss her and Draco exchanged rattled all the emotions she thought she had suppressed after all the time they spent apart. Violet didn't want it all to resurface but yet again, Draco came in and ruined her life.

"Oh my fucking ughh-" Violet garbbed at the roots of her hair and let her head fall down on the desk before her, "what did I get myself into?"

While Violet slumped on her desk, her arms hanging lifelessly under her, her office door opened and Thomas walked in. The sudden action without warning startled her and she shot up from her desk, scrambling to gather all the evidence of her love for Draco on all papers.

"Thomas, hello!" she laughed awkwardly and sat up in her chair, scooting her bin full of paper further under her desk. "What's going on? Did we have a meeting?"

"You left this morning. I was waiting for you in the kitchen and you didn't show."

Violet shifts and presses her lips into a thin line, "I left early, I had things to attend to and important matters to deal with, you weren't awake yet."

"Did you now?"

Thomas cocks an eyebrow, knowing her statement was a lie but not wanting to cause any drama by calling her out. He was up early that morning, feeling horrible about their heated argument. He had arranged an entire breakfast with all of her favorites and filled the kitchen with flowers to apologize to her and fix things. When Violet left for work that morning, he heard her talking to Karla but didn't feel the need to intrude and act like a toxic husband, he wanted to give her space. It wasn't until he saw no meetings on her agenda that he decided to walk into her office unannounced and figure out how to fix their problem.

"Yeah," Violet chuckled and tucked her hair behind her ear. "Why wouldn't I be busy? I am always busy Thomas."

The two stared at each other for a couple of seconds, both of them avoiding long eye contact every couple of seconds. The air around them was filled with tension and Violet felt an intense amount of guilt for what she had done earlier, considering Draco was the love of her life at one point before Thomas.

"Violet I want to apo-"

"No Thomas, please I want to apologize." Violet interrupted and rolled her chair back to stand up and walk towards him, leaning her butt against the desk behind her when she stood in front of him. "I was a complete hypocrite, I went out last night and didn't inform you and you shouldn't have been waiting for me, I don't expect you to be a lap dog for me whenever I need you, it's unfair to expect that from you."

"I went out as well Violet, I knew that I shouldn't have done that especially knowing we were doing so well but I need to explain myself. I didn't do anything wrong last night, I went and told her I was breaking it off with her that I want to focus on fixing my marriage, our marriage Vi."

Those words coming out of his mouth sank Violet's heart, she felt incredibly bad for Thomas and didn't know how to respond after accusing him of what she had been the only one doing last night.

"But you said you were out doing the same thing as me?" Violet cringed at the confession, "Thomas now I feel absolutely terrible about what I did, why would you say that if you hadn't done anything? You could've told me the truth, you let me bash you and you didn't defend yourself, Thomas I am so sorry."

Thomas dropped his head towards the floor, feeling a pain of knowing his actions the past year made Violet think she had to do the same and now because of him she has become unfaithful.

"We both made mistakes Vi but we can move past it can't we?" Thomas reached forward for her hands and held them tightly, afraid she would try to pull away. "Can we fix our marriage?"

Violet dropped her mouth open a little bit, a small gasp escaping her lips as her eyes watered up at the question. There was nothing more than Violet wanting to fix her marriage with Thomas, they used to be such good friends and she missed the way they once were but there was no way they can be the same way after what she's done. Violet felt horrible because what she had done was with his family and he was still trying to fix their shambles of a marriage.

"I want a divorce Thomas."

After hearing those words, Thomas took a step back and cleared his throat; his shoulders straightened up and he looked more serious than usual.

"Okay." Thomas nodded coldly and looked around with his hands in his pocket. "I'll get started on the paperwork, don't worry about it, I know you're very busy."

Violet began sobbing when she saw Thomas change his attitude towards her, she knew she did wrong but she wanted a chance to explain things before he thought the worst of her. She didn't want Thomas to become distant again; she just wanted her best friend back without strings attached and the constant bickering of their unhappy, forced marriage.

"Thomas please don't do this, don't just walk away please hear me out." Violet cried and ran to block the door, her palms pressing against his chest to stop him. "I miss my best friend, I miss you Tommy and I want things back to how they were. I don't want to fix what started our hatred towards each other in the first place. You are unhappy and so am I. That's why you became unfaithful in the first place. I just miss my best friend."

During her entire rant, Thomas had his head turned away from her and a clenched jaw to show his anger. He didn't want to admit that Violet was right but he didn't want to end their marriage either; after all he did at one point love and want to be with her.

Violet was sobbing uncontrollably, her back pressed hard against the enormous office doors and her hand shaking against Thomas' chest. She couldn't believe she had asked for the divorce but she knew that it was the right thing to do; the last thing she wanted was to drag Thomas down a path he felt forced to follow because they made a commitment to be married.

"Get out of my way Violet." Thomas seethed and pushed her hand harshly off his chest, "I don't want to be in here right now, I can't even stand looking at you cry when you're the one asking for the divorce."

"I'm crying for you, I am sorry Thomas I don't know how to fix something that's ruining us!"

Before she could even try to hold him back, Thomas harshly opened the office doors, causing one of them to throw Violet out of the way; she landed on her hands and knees, her hair a mess over her face as tears fell on the floor beneath her. Thomas didn't give her a second glance or bother to apologize, he simply walked out of the office and clenched his jaw in anger.

Violet sobbed uncontrollably after her husband let her fall on the floor, everyone in the ministry getting a clear view of their Minister humbled with her office doors open. Her assistant who was sitting at her desk just a few feet from her office ran towards Violet and closed her doors, kneeling beside her boss.

"Violet are you alright?" she comforted and picked Violet off the floor, walking her towards the couch. "Do you need me to call security or is there anything I can do for you?"

Violet sobbed and shook her head as her assistant tucked her now teared up hair behind her ear, "I just need to be left alone please, I don't want to do anything for the rest of the day please."

"Of course, let me cancel all your meetings and reschedule."

After covering Violet with a nearby throw blanket, she ran out of the office and shut the doors, leaving Violet in a dark office. Violet stared off into the distance, tears streaming down her emotionless face as she hugged the blanket around herself. She didn't realize how aggressive Thomas would get or how cold he would've acted towards her if she ever tried to leave their marriage. He was happier living in an estranged marriage than being apart and fixing their friendship and that made Violet feel numb.

Violet let herself fall on her side on the couch, her eyelashes dropping remaining tears across her nose. Within a couple of minutes, Violet had shifted into a deep sleep and she began having a vivid dream of a memory from her time at Hogwarts.

"So okay, describe your perfect man." Cressida giggled and waved her licorice wand in Violet's face, "and to be as detailed, I want to know how a straight woman thinks of her perfect man."

"My goodness Cress! I am not going to describe details that I just couldn't!" Violet tossed a pillow at her best friend, shaking her head with a blushing smile. "But if I did... promise you won't try to figure out who it is?"

Cressida sat up straight and pressed her hands together, "Merlin be my witness, now spill."

"Okay." Violet giggled and sat crisscrossed with a pull apart chocolate in her hand, "I would want someone mature and poised, a man who knows what he wants and who knows how to satisfy me if you know what I mean. A man with a chiseled face, probably older as well, it's a new preference. A big you know what is a must as well."

"Violet you naughty girl you have been spending too much time with our group! We have corrupted you!" Cressida launched at Violet and laid down with her chin on Violet's collarbone and doe eyes, "Now tell me, do you really think you'll find a man like that here who meets your expectations and who's gonna make you happy?"

Violet scrunched her nose and looked up at the ceiling, her mind shifting to her forbidden love, Draco. She knew he was the man she desired but he couldn't make her happy, not with Astoria in his life anyway.

"I hope so." Violet bit down on her chocolate and smiled down at Cressida, "If not there's always your brother."

"Gosh Violet! Don't say that, that's disgusting, he's so immature and he's a bloody idiot!"

Cressida pushed against Violet's mouth and gagged at the thought of them together but Violet laughed and shook her head, knowing Cressida understood Violet was joking. Violet never imagined Thomas that way, she couldn't even begin thinking about him as anyone other than her best friend's annoying brother. The thought of them together is ridiculously funny and out of her imagination.

"Can I ask you a question?" Violet toned her cheeriness down, "Why is Draco with Astoria? Your parents figured out they weren't happy and they left each other but why do Draco and Astoria stay together?"

Cressida sat up on the bed and hugged her knees to her chest, tucking loose hair behind her ears. "I think they just enjoy the company of misery; or maybe they have good shags, do older people even do that anymore? It's gross just thinking about Draco like that, he's old ew."

Violet giggled falsely, still lying on her back and facing the ceiling, "Yeah, ew."
