Violet found herself in a horrible mood when she woke from her short sleep. She thought it had something to do with what happened the night before with Theo and then Thomas but in reality, it angers her more that she can't figure out which one she's so upset about.

A day ago, her mood would be about Theo and how her feelings for him caused her to be angry at him for hooking up with that waitress but now that she's connected with Thomas, she's wondering if she's angrier at what happened between them.

Violet felt even worse, knowing she dreamed about her wedding night and what happened in the garden with Theo. She thought about this as she readied herself for work that morning, zipping up her black boots before dropping her black trousers over them. Violet didn't bother to get too dressed up, she simply added a black hoodie and called it an outfit; she was too tired and angry to put effort into an outfit that won't affect her work performance no matter what she wears. At the end of the day, everyone was going to hate her no matter what she wore.

As she let her damp hair drape down her back and dampen her hoodie, Violet walked out with her wand and phone in hand, ready for whatever the day was to bring her. Her mind was all over the place, she didn't know what to do at that point; did she go have breakfast where Thomas was most likely in the kitchen or straight to work where Theo was working with a hangover and a shitty apology?

Last night was a night Violet hoped to never repeat; she was frustrated and she let her emotions take over and it left her broken. In other words, last night wants to be forgotten.

"Madam will you not be dining for breakfast?" Karla asked from the middle of the foyer as she dusted the antiques off. "Sir Thomas has been waiting since quite early."

Violet realized that her subconscious had pulled her to go to work when she halted at the door from Karla's question. She turned her body to face the old woman and forced a smile, not wanting to give the servants anything to gossip about. Violet didn't want to argue, she was too tired of arguing every single day; she understood that her anger with Thomas was a bit hypocritical, so staying mad at him wasn't on her list of things to do as her new self. However, she still didn't want to face him so early in the morning with her hangover and his attitude.

"Not today, tell Thomas I'm sorry but I've been called in for a work emergency." Violet lied so easily, hating herself even more for the skill. "Will you also toss out my wardrobe while I'm away Karla? Everything, just toss it or donate it, I don't have a use for anything in there."

Karla's eyes widened questionably, "Will you want me to send out servants for more clothes Madam?"

"No." Violet shook her head as she retreated, the door half-closed as she continued speaking. "I will do that myself, thank you."

Before Karla uttered another question, Violet shut the door and ran down the steps to her driveway, starting her car with a wave of her wand. The snow crunched with satisfaction under her designer boots, filling the silence until she was sitting in the driver's seat, tucking her hair behind her ears and crying. She didn't mean to cry, it just happened so naturally like breathing and she couldn't control it.

"It is a beautiful day despite the inches of snow, isn't it James?" the radio host spoke in the background of Violet's meltdown. "On this note, enjoy the next melodies we recommend for days like these."

The song that began playing on the radio caught Violet's attention, she liked it the second it started and she didn't understand why. Her eyes turned to the radio and she smiled softly, raising the volume and reversing her car calmly as if the song instructed her to start driving. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel as she began driving, humming the catchy melody and feeling so peaceful for the first time in a long time.

For once, Violet's mind was filled with something other than harsh thoughts and craziness. She was calm; she wasn't happy but she was calm.

Violet smiled at the lyrics with teary eyes and admired the view in front of her as she drove through the muggle streets she drove through every day. That morning she truly took in the beauty of the streets, that was the difference from her regular morning drives to work.

As Violet turned the corner to reach the lot where she parks her car every morning before work, she noticed a familiar car parking as well. Violet turned down the volume of her radio and parked her car, smiling out the window as she rolled it down.

"You find my lot and take over it," she spoke loudly over the other car's engine. "I'll have to charge you now."

"Do you own this too?" Elio asks with a hint of sarcasm. "Horrible of you to let me find out from a drunk that you owned last night's wild location. You're full of secrets aren't you, Minister?"

"Oh you have no idea." Violet huffed under her breath as she stepped out of the vehicle and leaned back against the closed door.

She watched as Elio tossed aside a cigarette he had been smoking as he drove, stomping it out before he walked over to her with a briefcase in his hand.

"Smart lad like yourself, I was just sure you'd find out," Violet replied finally as he stood before her, extending out his arm for her to hold as they began a stroll towards the Ministry's visitor entrance. "I could ask, however, if you'd please refrain from telling anyone about it. I have a tough time as a twenty-one-year-old woman in power as is, I don't need people to start questioning my morals if they were to find out I owned a place like that."

"Of course, Violet, I would never tell anyone."

"Thank you."

Violet smiled kindly as she shut the door of the telephone booth they squished into. There was more space that time than the morning before with her and Draco; Violet made sure to keep boundaries as she pushed her bum hard against the glass to prevent any touching.

"I didn't see you leave last night by the way," Elio commented as the booth touched ground on Ministry grounds. "Where'd you slip off to?"

"Oh well, I just-" Violet looked around the crowds of wizards and witches, making her way through towards the elevators. "- I was feeling a bit claustrophobic. It caught me very off guard so I headed home."

Marching closely behind her Elio simply nodded, knowing straight away that Violet was being untruthful. He didn't question it, however; he knew it would only make Violet uncomfortable and he didn't want that. Meanwhile, Violet was rushing quicker than usual to get to her office and she looked almost panicked as though she was avoiding someone.

She was.

Violet was avoiding Theo in hopes of saving herself from an argument about what they both did to anger each other last night. Most importantly, she was avoiding Adrian who since his return would be spending the majority of his time at the Ministry to keep himself occupied. She knew she agreed that what they did wouldn't ruin their friendship but she cannot say it didn't make her feel awkward and exposed.

Violet ran out of the elevator the second the gate was pulled open, pushing people aside and looking around frantically. She dug out her keys from the pocket of her trousers and unlocked her office doors, shutting the door before anyone could come to her, even her assistant.

"Are we avoiding interactions now?"

"Ah!" Violet snapped her wand out in a quick instinct, shouting. "Sweet merciful baby Jesus! Draco what are you doing in my office?"

Draco raised his eyebrows in confusion as he stood up from his seat, holding his hands up with a small shoulder shrug. Violet looked down at his feet and saw a briefcase that looked familiar, it was his teaching briefcase.

"You told me we'd pay a visit to Hogwarts to get me situated?" he looked around with a small chuckle, feeling like he was talking crazy when he noticed Violet was lost. "Last night...Violet, you called me and we conversed about my position and how you would like to situate me in my classroom at Hogwarts because you were going to personally deliver my file to Minerva."

"I did?" Violet asked quietly as she palmed her forehead, trying to remember. "You're right, I did. Yes, I did!"

Violet exhausted a chuckle, rubbing the arch of her eyebrow as she walked towards her desk, grabbing a notepad with a pen. She scribbled a note on a piece of paper, biting her bottom lip and placing the paper strategically on her desk before she stepped toward Draco.

"Draco did I-" she began to speak but cut herself off. "Forget it, let's get headed over there so the students see their new professor today. Yay you right?"

"No, no, Violet finish your sentence." Draco placed his hand on her hip, catching them both off guard at his subconscious action. "Sorry. I just want to know what you wanted to say."

Violet giggled awkwardly, stepping back as she asked a question in mumbles. "Did I happen to say anything else in this phone call?" she face palmed with embarrassment. "I just have to be honest; I don't remember the call. I was pissed last night and I have to know, did I say anything else?"

There was a quiet moment between Violet's question and Draco's long-awaited answer, leaving them in an awkward stitch about what to do. They were both close, avoiding eye contact and yet wanting to look so someone could speak.

"You did not." Draco gulped, rubbing the pad of his thumb against the side of his nose. "I can tell you, it was strictly a business call."

Violet broke out into an enormous smile, sighing with relief and nodding. "Well okay then, that's quite good to know." she twisted some keys in her hand and began walking towards the door. "Let's go then, shall we? Apparition teaching awaits."

"Yes, yes it does."

-

It was a short trip to Hogwarts, Violet and Draco were both thankful for it because it gave them barely any time to have a conversation. A couple of glances and smiles were exchanged but nothing awkward and nothing that needed words along with it.

As they arrived at Hogwarts however, Draco noticed a change in Violet's mood and in the way she held herself. She wasn't smiling anymore, not at him or the students gawking at the Minister of Magic walking their halls, she wasn't even looking off the ground.

Violet hadn't realized Draco was watching her, walking forward with his head turned in her direction, knowing people would part ways for them so he didn't care to look where he was going. She knew she had changed her mood when she stepped foot into Hogwarts, she didn't mean to but the memories had begun crawling back in; she started remembering vividly the day they met, the way his eyes traveled her body, the clench of his fists as he took a shuddering breath. Violet remembered the way she felt, her hot exhales against her bottom lips that she couldn't stop biting, the fast beating of her heart, the pulse between her thighs. All those emotions and feelings were coming back to her at that moment as she walked through the corridors with one Draco Malfoy.

"It's strange, isn't it?" Violet chuckles awkwardly, "Being back here at Hogwarts, that is?"

Her comment caused Draco to tug at his tie nervously, swallowing the lump in his throat as he continued walking behind her. His eyes subconsciously dropped to her bum and he watched as it swayed with her hips with every movement in her walk; it was strange being back there for him, feeling all those emotions for her even stronger.

Draco looked up and cleared his throat, "It's certainly a trip down memory lane."

Violet nearly stopped in her tracks when she heard his words, they shocked her down to her very core and she didn't know how else to react but to laugh nervously and speed up. The corridors had been cleared by then, every student inside their classes, leaving nothing but the ghosts wandering around.

"Violet!"

"Headmistress McGonogall." Violet chuckled happily as she greeted her old Headmistress with open arms and a warm embrace. "It's so nice to see you again, thank you for seeing me on such short notice."

Minerva pulled apart from Violet and held her shoulders with a smile before she slid her hands up to her face, holding her softly.

"Oh Violet, it's so great to see you, you've grown so much since your graduation," she spoke so softly, calming Violet. "Call me Minerva, you're the Minister now. And don't worry, for you I always have time."

After a moment of calmness, the room became tension-filled the second Minerva turned to look at Draco; her eyes darkened and she straightened herself with a straight face, as did Draco.

"Minerva."

"Mr. Malfoy," she responded coldly, stepping back. "So, I heard you're wanting to resume your position as an Apparition teacher, is that so?"

Before Draco could speak, Violet stopped him with her hand against his chest as she stayed facing away from him; the action caused Minerva to widen her eyes, noticing the tension in the interaction that Violet didn't mean to do.

"If you can just give him the position temporarily, a trial run," Violet huffed nervously, moving her hands together and clasping them as her keys jingled around her fingers. "I would deeply appreciate it. If he fails the first month then I will find you someone better suited. The students have been getting taught by reading the book and as well written as it is, it won't teach you something an actual Professor can."

Minerva sighed and nodded, "Very well then, follow me so the students can meet you before you start tomorrow."

As she began walking towards the emptied Great Hall, Violet turned to Draco and quietly clapped with a silent cheer before turning around, Draco walking closely behind her with a smile. Draco leaned forward, his hands clasped behind his back, and he smiled against the tip of Violet's ear, whispering a simple thank you that sent chills running down her spine. Violet blushed, dropping her head to avoid firing up his ego; she could feel the turn of her stomach as they reached closer to the doors of the Great Hall, it was like reliving her first day at Hogwarts and she felt like she could start bawling her eyes out at any moment.

Once they've reached the doors of the Great Hall, they're pushed open and a room full of students turn in their direction, wide-eyed to see their Headmistress and Minister of Magic in one room.

"Good morning students!" Minerva shouts as she walks forward. "We have two very special guests joining us today, our Minister of Magic, Violet Blishen, and your new Professor, Draco Malfoy."

As soon as Violet gets a glimpse of the room, she gasps and halts at the door, her palms sweating and her breathing heavier than before. The memory of seeing Draco for the very first time was happening again, right in front of her and she couldn't move.

Violet's lips parted and she gasped in a small amount of air when the Professor's eyes landed on her. Grey, piercing eyes that shine behind the lenses of his glasses. His eyes scan her with no shame and she can almost feel them burning into her skin. She can feel her heart pounding but not in her chest, between her thighs.

He looks down at her legs which are completely covered in gray tights and a small huff escapes his lips, making everyone in the room turn to look at Violet.

Violet broke out of her trance and she dropped her eyes down to her legs, looking at her trousers and heeled boots and feeling so strange to herself. Taking too long to step forward, she stood there until Draco pressed his hand against her lower back and pushed her forward to walk beside her.

The young girls dropped their jaws and whispered to their friends once they saw Draco; their postures straightened and eyes turned to doe eyes as they smirked flirtatiously at him. All the attention and lust towards Draco made Violet jealous and she hated that it did because she didn't realize she still liked him so much until there was a potential threat. Even with her there, watching them intently, the girls still batted their eyes and bit their lips.

Draco simply stood at the center of the room, watching Violet from afar as she sulked on the podium with saddened eyes. The stares and flirting didn't faze him, he didn't care for anyone's smile or interest unless it was from Violet, he longed for it but she didn't see that.

"Good morning, I am Professor Malfoy." he began speaking as he paced between the students sitting on the ground. "I taught this class almost two years ago and I enjoyed it, it changed my life immensely and it saddened me to leave the position, I loved it so much, and I –"

By now Violet had caught on to the fact that Draco was talking about her, he was pouring his emotions out without her being able to stop him because he knew she would try. He turned to face her and as their eyes met, he continued speaking with his cheeks flushed and Violet with teary eyes and a frown.

"I still love it, which is why I came back to teach." Draco continued, adjusting his glasses at the bridge of his nose. "I just hope you guys can accept me back with open arms and allow me to catch up with you all and be there."

Violet couldn't hold it in any longer, her emotions were getting the best of her and as soon as a single tear slid down her cheek, she ran. Excusing herself from the classroom, Violet ran to the door and turned into the corridor, Draco following closely behind her but not fast enough to grab her. Still running, Violet made it into an empty corridor where she stopped and fell to the floor, her back falling against the wall behind her. Violet let herself sob into the palms of her hands, her heart breaking every second her tears poured down her cheeks.

It didn't take long for Draco to find her and when he did, he rushed over to her, dropping to his knees before her and grabbing her head.

"Violet what is it?" he wiped her tears with the pads of his thumbs and showed sympathy "Why are you crying darling?"

As she looked up to face him, her bottom lip, swollen and wet, quivered and her teary eyes softened. Violet fell forward into his chest for comfort, sobbing and gripping tightly onto his black blazer in an attempt to bring him as close to her as possible.

"I love you!" Violet gasped for air as she spoke in sobs. "Oh god- "

Those words were like a gift to hear for Draco, he didn't know where he stood with Violet until now and he doesn't want to ruin their chances anymore.

"I've always loved you." he replied.

Violet pushed away from him with furrowed eyebrows when she heard him, her expression changing into one of anger and confusion; her palms pushed against Draco's chest repeatedly, turning into fists and he let her because he knew he deserved it. Violet cried as she pushed him, she was angry with him but angry with herself for still loving him, turning to him for comfort because he was the only person she felt safe with.

"Why did you leave me then?! How could you think it was okay to send me that letter after you broke my heart?"

Her sudden change in mood caught Draco off guard, he didn't know what to tell her, how to explain that it was for her own good. He's already told her that he wanted her safe and if her safety meant him leaving then that's what he had to do.

"If I chose you, Violet, everything would have gone to shit." he took her hands but she rejected his touch, "Your life was barely starting, you were at the age where experiences were bound to happen, and you had to screw up over and over but it was okay because you were young and that's what you're supposed to do. If I chose you, no one would ever forgive us, you would be shunned and I couldn't allow that to happen to you over something that I started. It was my fault, I pursued you and I shouldn't have let it get this far, I fucked up Violet I'm so sorry."

Violet shook her head angrily with tears, "Look at my life Draco! It went to shit and you weren't even in it! I would rather have had you with me to help me through all these problems than be with someone I don't even love while I go through the worst time of my life!"

Just as Draco was about to say something, someone cleared their throat at the end of the corridor and they both turned with shocked reactions. There, at the opposite side of where they sat, stood Minerva with an angry expression and wide eyes, having heard their conversation that revealed their old relationship.

"I want the both of you in my office right now,"she spoke coldly. "This is completely inappropriate!"
