"Stop yelling at me like some child!" Violet frustrated her words, pulling her hair desperately into a tight ponytail. "I'm trying! It's not easy for me as it was for you alright!"
Violet stood in the middle of the Aurors' practice room inside the Ministry; her usually formal outfit was gone as she was in black leggings and a simple back hoodie. She had been in that room for hours, sweating through her clothes because she'd been trained hard.
Her cheeks were flushed red from the heated room, Adam not allowing her to be fresh and comfortable. Adam wanted Violet to express her anger in a different way than taking it out on others, to find an escape when she needed one.
"We've been at this for hours!" Adam growled as he walked in circles around her. "Every time you try, you keep thinking you did the right thing! Try again!"
"I can't!"
Before Adam could respond to Violet's exhausted shouts, the room door was opened and they both shot their eyes in the opening direction. They watched Violet's assistant walk into the room, head down while announcing something.
"Mr. Thomas Nott, ma'am." she bowed before retreating.
Violet removed the gloves Adam made her wear as she stood in place, watching Thomas make his way into the room. He was dressed in his Auror uniform and he had this positive presence as he approached his wife, his hand pressing her lower back and his lips pressing softly against her sweaty cheek.
"Thomas." she spoke with confusion, receiving his kiss and gripping his bicep in return for a kind 'hugging' gesture. "I heard you were in New York for business. Is everything alright?"
It had been days since the night Thomas left for New York and Violet left for France. They didn't question why either of them had left but it worried her that she didn't hear news from her husband.
She didn't want to hear bad news after the days he'd been gone.
But she didn't want to show too much interest in him by ringing him up like some clingy wife who needed his location every minute.
However, he just showed up suddenly after three days and acted out romantically in the way he greeted her. She couldn't help but find his acting a bit suspicious, seeing as they didn't leave on good terms with each other.
"Everything is just fine; I simply had an urgent matter to deal with." he side-eyed, Adam, wondering what he was still standing there for but didn't let it affect the conversation. "I arranged a meeting for you later tonight, I hope you don't mind?"
"N-no that's perfect." Violet furrowed. "I hope it's something interesting to end my day."
Violet let out a laugh, still holding Thomas' bicep as she turned to Adam, almost forgetting he was in the room entirely.
"Oh! Thomas –" she pulled Adam closer as she spoke. "– this is Adam Bonavich. He's a friend of mine."
As they both reached out to greet each other with firm handshakes, Violet hoped Thomas didn't know who he was. More importantly, she hoped Adam didn't correct her or say something to make the situation worse.
However, they both remained civil, shaking each other's hands with politeness and firm grips. It gave her some relief because it meant that Thomas didn't know and Adam understood the seriousness of the situation. Then, she wonders what would happen if Thomas did know and if he would have done something about it.
"Pleasure to finally meet you," Adam spoke as he put his hand back into his pocket. "Violet has told me so much about you."
Violet almost cackled, furrowing her eyebrows as she turned to Adam while wondering why he would lie about that. She never spoke about Thomas, only that he was her husband and it was a forced marriage but nothing else.
"Pleasure to meet you as well." Thomas nodded repeatedly, still holding Violet's lower back. "Do you mind if I have a private word with my wife?"
"Go ahead, I was just about to grab a smoke break anyway."
Adam left the room, looking back at the married couple with curiosity because he wanted to know what the tension was for. As soon as the door closed, Violet let her hand slip off Thomas' bicep and she swiped the sweat off her forehead, taking a step back.
"What did you want to talk about?" she took sips of cold water, eyeing him from afar.
"Well –" he ran his fingers across his lips, nervously smiling. "I was wondering if you want to grab lunch right now?"
Violet's lips pursed at his words, the discomfort showing on her face just at the thought of having lunch with him. He noticed it and remembered the words Draco told him back in New York, hearing them repeat in his head as she contemplated an answer.
"I don't know Thomas –" she exhausted, fanning her flushed cheeks. "– with my meetings and this new training, I don't think it's a good idea for me to take a lunch break, I'll just eat later."
"You work hard Violet." Thomas bit the inside of his cheek, making his cheekbones deeper than they are. "I think one thirty-minute lunch won't cause the end of the world. Work will be here when you come back with a full stomach so you can focus."
He inched forward, her body contemplating moving back or staying in place as she watched him approach her.
"I just –" she sucked her teeth.
"Forget it." Thomas interrupted her quickly. "I'm starving so I will be getting lunch, you have a good training session."
Thomas scoffed at her, shaking his head before turning away from her and making his way towards the door. He was angry, she spent more time with everyone else, even clients of the Ministry but she couldn't spare half an hour for her husband.
His words caused Violet's eyebrows to shoot high, shock running through the nerves in her body like lightning. She was stunned that he had just dropped the situation like that, changing his attitude towards her in seconds. It reminded her somewhat of Draco. He would do that whenever he was tired of Violet's pettiness or her whines.
"Thirty minutes," Violet spoke loudly as he reached the door, causing him to stop and turn around. "No more and you bring me back, I don't feel like driving or apparating today."
"Italian?" he smiled as she walked towards him, smiling at him.
"Brunch." she corrected, opening the door behind him, their noses nearly brushing as she squished past his body. "I'm craving some waffles, darling."
Thomas chuckled, hand on her lower back as they walked down the glass bridge with all eyes on them. It wasn't custom to see them together, so, people took time to watch this miracle happen before their eyes.
"Let's get you some waffles." Thomas tapped his index finger against her hip. "I know a spot."
**
Violet and Thomas both rushed through crowds, laughing their heads off because she was going to be late for the meeting, he had arranged for her. Their thirty-minute lunch turned into a two-hour talk about the past and constant laughing and getting along. For two hours, they forgot why they were always arguing and hating each other.
They took in the moment and bonded over anything that came to mind, sharing food and gossiping like they were back in school. Whether it was about the first day they met or up to the time Thomas ran through the school corridors in nothing but his underwear, they just talked and talked.
It was healthy and good for them both to sit and enjoy time together.
For Violet, however, it made her feel horrible that they spent such a great time together for the first time after having been married for a whole year. She realized she could be a bit nicer but he has to work on it too, even the whole cheating situation he's had going on had to stop if he wanted a better connection.
Thomas held Violet's handbag over their heads, the rain and snow coming down on them like mad. He didn't want Violet to get soaked but he couldn't use his magic either in front of muggles.
"I'm so sorry!" Violet shouted back at the random she had just bumped into as they made their way into the Ministry's secret passage.
Her squeals echoed through the tall ceilings of the Ministry as they ran through the corridor of many fireplaces where wizards were coming through. Heads turned in their direction and they watched surprisingly as the Minister and her Auror husband were soaked and trailing water on the floors.
Without even realizing it, her hand reached for Thomas' and she gripped it firmly with loud laughs leaving her mouth.
"Hold the door!" Thomas shouted out to the people in the elevator.
For seconds the workers standing inside the elevator hesitated; that was until they realized he was holding hands with the Minister of Magic, their boss. Instantly, about five hands reached in front of the gate to hold it open, Thomas and Violet running in with smiles.
"Thank you." Violet laughed in exhaustion, still holding Thomas' hand.
Violet looked up to her right, her eyes caught Thomas' whose were already on her like magnets. A smile crawled on his lips, his dimples sinking in like someone was poking his skin.
He switched his view between each of her pupils, watching to see a change in the way she looked at him; in the way, her eyes used to speak her hate to his own, but now, he could see the crinkles at the ends of her eyes and the growing of her pupils.
Then, as his eyes dropped down to her lips, he saw that she was smiling back at him.
More importantly.
She was still holding his hand.
He parted his lips to say something but as soon as he did, the gate of the elevator pulled open and Violet was being talked to instantly by her assistant. And she let go of Thomas' hand.
"Since you were gone for two hours –" her assistant retrieved Violet, soaked bag as they walked and talk with Thomas behind them. "– I took the liberty of assigning the four meetings you had to Rose Weasley. She handled them well and all of the clients left satisfied, wishing you the best. You have one meeting left tonight which is in ten minutes and later tonight you have dinner reservations with Adam Bonavich for a business matter."
Thomas rushed behind them, feeling overwhelmed with how much stuff Violet had to do in a single day. He almost felt guilty for pulling her away from not one, but four meetings.
"Cancel dinner with Adam." Violet shook her head while she pulled the hem of her hoodie up the second, they all walked into her office. "I would like to go home and have dinner there so you can erase any extra plans for tonight."
Violet tossed her soaked hoodie on a chair at the end of her office and instantly, Thomas turned around to give her privacy. Not even Violet's assistant turned, she continued listening to Violet set up tomorrow's schedule as she walked in her bra, taking her leggings off as well.
"I want to have no meetings after eight at night tomorrow –" Violet put on a fresh grey hoodie and a pair of back leggings before taking a seat at her desk. "– and I need you to make me some groceries, I will make you a list before I go home tonight."
Her assistant repeated the words to herself as she wrote on her notepad, walking out of the office to put it on a file of her daily time.
As soon as the door shut, Thomas turned around to look at Violet and she smiled up at him like the action was becoming natural to her. She nodded her head to her side of the desk and he followed her directions, walking next to her. He leaned back against her desk and looked down at her in such comfortable clothing, looking like the old Violet from the first day of school.
"What?" she smiled uncontrollably, tossing her legs on the desk beside his hip. "Is there something on my face?"
"A smile," Thomas replied, his hand now running up and down her calves. "Am I invited to dinner tonight?"
Violet swallowed nervously, dropping her feet flat onto the ground before rolling back to pick up a file from inside her drawer. A specific file she dropped in there a couple of days ago from one Elio La Maistre. Thomas curled his hand into a fist now that he wasn't caressing her and he slightly frowned. Violet pouted her bottom lip and handed the file to him, showing sympathy on her face.
"I'm sorry, but I need your help tonight." she sighed, going forward to be closer to him. "I don't fully trust the Minister of Magic from France. You're an Auror, it's your job to find stuff out so can you look into his file and see what he's actually here for?"
Thomas dropped his eyes to the file he was starting to flip through, nodding slowly as he scanned every page swiftly. He bit the inside of his cheek and looked up at his wife who had this 'please' look in her eyes.
"I will look into this." he closed the file in his hands and bent down to place a kiss on her cheek that she so warmly received. "However, for this task, I do hope to come home to a plate I can reheat at least."
"I'll even keep it warm for you," Violet replied with a chuckle as he walked towards the office door, opening it.
Before Thomas or Violet could say goodbye to each other or even say something meaningful, he was pushed out of the way by Adam and Theo who both had different emotions in their looks. Violet stood up from her chair, frightened to see Theo after what she did to him, but more confused as to why he was with Adam.
"Is everything alright?" Thomas spoke from behind the other two men in the room but he was directing it to Violet.
"I'll see you later tonight Thomas –" she dismissed his concern as she eyed Adam with rage. "– I forgot I had some business to discuss with your father and Adam."
Thomas gave the room one last look around before closing the door behind him as he walked out, leaving them all in private. Immediately, Theo walked forward, slammed his hand on the table, and shouted.
"How could you do that to me!" he raged, the veins in his neck showing more than usual. "You made me your fucking puppet! For what? So, you can move on from your feelings that you're too afraid to show because you'd much rather stay upset with me over some childish grudge!"
"Theo I-"
"I was wiped of every memory I needed of you to be the man I am today!" he cut her off with the anger spilling off the tip of his tongue. "You took my life away because you're petty Violet! You don't think of others and only of yourself!"
Violet's eyes filled with tears and her face dropped as she looked around the room with guilt and embarrassment. Her chin quivered as she tried to figure out what to say to Theo to save herself from the awful thing she did.
"Did you do this!?" Violet shouted as she turned to face Adam who was casually leaning against the door with no care. "I trusted you!"
"You did this to yourself, Violet!" Adam lunged forward, shouting at her too. "I am helping you push past this, and this is how you do it! You do it by facing the shit you do, not burying it away with the stupid curse you were born with!"
"And I was going to face this problem! I was going to give Theo his memories back!" Violet felt her throat tighten as tears pooled up in her eyes. "But when I was ready! Does this look problem-solving to you Adam? Does this seem to have fixed me by shoving it in my face!?"
Her chest was rising and sinking at such a rapid pace as if she had just run a marathon but in reality, she was just really exhausted. She was mentally drained and this just made it all so much worse.
"I'm sorry." Adam backed down, looking guilty. "I'll just leave you two, I should go."
Violet tossed her head back, a look of 'you think' taking over her face. She clenched her jaw and watched angrily as Adam closed the door behind him. He held the handle for a couple of seconds as he stood outside in the corridor, sighing to himself.
In the moment of trying to help Violet, he lost himself.

Adam heard the arguing start inside the office and he stepped back, beginning his shameful walk towards her assistant's office. As he was walking, he passed a tall man in fine clothing heading to Violet's office but he assumed he had been called in so he continued, discarding it.
The man stopped for a breath, holding onto the handle of the glass bridge as he stood in the middle of it, staring down at his new pair of shoes.
He was nervous.
"I'm sorry Theo!" Violet paced her office as Theo paced on the other side of her. "You were right, I'm selfish, I'm cruel, and I wasn't thinking about how it would affect you and for that, I would never forgive myself! But-"
Violet halted in the middle of her office and turned to look at Theo with confusion as he was counting under his breath.
"Why are you counting!?" she threw her hands up, causing him to turn on his heels to look at her. "I'm confessing my feelings to you and you're counting!"
"It calms me down but I'm listening!" he folded his hands behind his back like a child. "Can I go to you? Or are you going to freak out and send me to hell like usual?"
"Theo." Violet stepped back a little with her hand up as he approached her so quickly. "Oh, my god."
Theo stepped even closer to Violet and he towered over her with begging eyes as tears rolled down her rosy cheeks. There was a hot tension between the two of them and Violet felt as if she was closed in a hot oven, with a need to just rip her clothes off.
"Theo I need to tell you something, I need to apologize for lying-"
"I never believed it." Theo interrupted as he gripped her chin, "Your body language doesn't lie and right now I can tell you want me."
Violet squeezed her thighs together as her breath shuttered, her lips grazing his slightly as she stood on her tiptoes. She threw her arms around him, trying to pull him into a hug.
However, Theo wrapped his hand under her chin, cupping it so he could pull her into a kiss that they both needed so much. The second their lips touched; Violet inhaled air through her nose like he had taken her breath away with just innocent lip touching.
Outside her office doors, the man stood up from crouching for a breath and he continued walking towards her door, not knowing what was happening inside. He combed slender fingers through his fine hair, making sure to look proper for this impromptu meeting with the Minister of Magic.
His feet stomped hard on the glass; it was a miracle nothing was cracking beneath his strong steps.
In the office, Violet let her own fingers grip Theo's brunette curls, tugging at them as he attacked her neck, biting down on her skin that tasted like paradise. Violet threw her head back to give him more access and she arched her back to push herself against him. His hands couldn't stand to stay in one place so they roamed her body, pulling at her hoodie, gripping her arse, and grazing her thigh. Anywhere his hands could be, they were.
Violet pushed his body back, breaking their intimacy for a second to toss everything off her desk and onto the floor. Glass shattered, papers flew across the room, and phones rang out of service but she didn't care.
All she wanted was to be on that desk with him right then and there.
"Oh, you're sinful," Theo muttered with hunger as he grabbed the hem of her leggings, using it to pull her chest to chest and back against his lips.
The man in the outside corridor halted, turning back with anxiousness at how close he was getting to the large office doors of one Violet Blishen.
He stared at them, clenching his jaw at the sight and breathing heavily like he couldn't even catch a breath. His hands were sweating, shaking even because he was so scared to just open the doors, seeing as he skipped being announced by her assistant.
Nevertheless, he swallowed the lump in his throat and raised his right foot, stomping it down as he took a step forward.
"Don't hold back." Violet moaned in between their kiss, biting down on his tender lip. "I need all of you inside of me."
Her words alone stretched Theo's trousers and he felt himself harden like never before. His breathing quickened and he bent his knees, reaching down as his hands slid from the back of her neck, all the way down to the back of her thighs. His nails dug into the material of her leggings and he yanked her legs off the floor, giving her the instinct to wrap her legs around his torso.
Theo pulled apart from her wet lips, moaning out as she teased him by rubbing her core against the throbbing hardness inside his trousers. His eyes shut and he tossed her back onto the wooden desk, sliding her up so his zipper aligned with her core.
His eyes were full of lust and he discovered hers were full of it too when he looked up at her. Their eyes locked, intimacy closing in around them like a bubble.
"I don't have protection." Theo gulped, panting out.
Violet grinned – a sadistic one – as she reached forward, tugging at the belt and holding his trousers up. She began to undo it and tossed it on the desk she was resting on, saving it for later.
"I'm willing to take that risk." she bit down on her lip and eyed the belt. "But don't let me finish too soon, you can punish me."
Footsteps crept closer to her office doors, the elegant smell of this man's cologne swept the corridor and filled it like a toxic gas. He tugged on his blazer, fixing his appearance because he didn't know what else to do with his hands. They shook as he reached into his pocket to make sure his phone was there in case; he needed a ride back home if he decided to back out and was too shocked to apparate.
"A couple more steps," he murmured to himself, shaking negative thoughts from his mind. "It's not the end of the world."
Violet lifted her arms in the hot air above her as Theo pulled off her hoodie, revealing her figure he hadn't seen in almost a year. The sight alone stole his breath and he groaned into the air, feeling the material of his boxers stretch even more.
"Like what you see?" Violet teased, bouncing purposely. "You were the last to touch them."
She tried to pull a smirk but his hand snaked to the back of her head and he pulled her in, smashing his lips against hers. A muffled grunt came from her before she scratched up his back, pulling his dress shirt up with her movement. The skin-on-skin contact she began to feel was such a pleasure, it made her throb between her thighs.
Blood started dripping down his back from the open wounds Violet was leaving from her nails. It exhilarated her to feel the warm, wet liquid run down her hands, blanketing them in red.
"You like that, don't you?" Theo growled into her mouth. "Seeing the blood. I've noticed what a devil you are my Violet."
A seductive laugh escaped her lip and she slid her bloody hand up his neck, all the way over to his ear, causing him to freeze with shock. She looked at his neck covered in his blood and an idea came over her mind, urging her to take charge.
"I love it." Violet lunged forward, running her tongue across his neck.
She swept up his blood onto her tastebuds and his head fell back with pleasure, his swollen lips parting to let out whimpers into the air. Violet nicked his skin a bit, sucking gently after every bite. Her lips and tongue were stained red but she couldn't care less, he tasted so good.
The handle to her office door twisted but neither of them paid any attention because they couldn't hear through the panting and moans.
Violet's head shot up when she finally heard the door open and she felt as though the life was sucked out of her. She couldn't believe her eyes but most importantly, she couldn't believe those eyes were staring back at her in the situation she's in right now.
Theo's head shot back and he gripped Violet's thigh harder, shock running through his veins.
Violet parted her lips and gasped her first word to him. "Draco."
