"Draco, I don't think that's such a wise idea." Violet cringed her face as she shook head in disapproval of his request. "I don't want to seem rude or anything but given your history of well- let's be forward, us, I wouldn't think it best to put you back in a position of authority at Hogwarts."

She didn't want to seem hypocritical, seeing as she was caught with Theo in her office yesterday but that was different especially age wise and it didn't seem right to potentially put a student in the position she was in with Draco.

"Violet, I promise you, I am not some kind of sick person who goes around younger girls and wants to get in their pants or groom them." he defends his honor in a low tone, turning red. "What happened between you and I was unexpected, you took me by surprise. I had never done anything like that before in my life. But it wasn't a fetish or sick game for me, I truly loved you and that's not going to happen again with anyone else, I learned my lesson."

What he said was true, Violet didn't know for sure, but it was; he wasn't a pervert or anything similar to that. Draco had no intention of mingling with anyone when he took that position almost two years ago, let alone a student. When he met Violet, something ticked in him that he didn't expect and he found himself having emotions again.

He understands how wrong it would look in others eyes or how wrong it sounds without context but in context, he truly was in love with Violet.

"Of course, I never believed you to be sick minded." She lied a bit, writing something on a notepad for her assistant. "But nevertheless, I promised we'd figure something out for you and if this is it, then I have no problem pulling some strings and making it happen."

"Thank you, Violet, I really appreciate it."

Violet smiled in response – faking her happiness for him in that moment – as she continued writing numbers and words on a notepad out of his view. She couldn't feel happy, knowing his past and how desperate he could be.

He pursued her after all.

Her teeth bit down on her bottom lip with nervousness, and she picked at the matte brown lipstick on her lips, tasting the chemicals. She was feeling jealous and as though someone was going to steal her property, but she knew deep down she couldn't feel that way because Draco wasn't hers...at least not anymore.

Draco was watching her pick at the skin on her lips, wondering if she was nervous about letting him teach again at Hogwarts and if she didn't actually trust his words. She wasn't looking at him so he couldn't read her or try to figure out her thoughts, but curiosity was eating him alive.

His eyes traveled down to her delicate hands that were writing, noticing only two rings on her fingers now. The two being her engagement ring and her wedding band.

The last time he had looked at her hands and actually focused on them, was the day she had tossed him his ring back. They had argued about him choosing Astoria, he remembers how hurt she was but what hurt him was watching her slide his ring off her finger and toss it at him. It had left her hand with two of Theo's rings, his Quidditch one and the one from the auction ball.

Now he can't believe what he sees, she's married. He knew she was but it felt so surreal until now, where he actually could see the commitment on white gold rings around her finger.

With his eyes still glued on her hands, he jumped a bit when she harshly ripped off the piece of notepad paper, handing it to him.

"Take this to my assistant after I walk you out and she'll create this into a large file of documents for your position." Violet stood from her chair and motioned her hands to her words as Draco took the paper in his hands, folding it neatly to fit his pocket. "I'm still learning how to create them on my own, so notepad paper is all I could do on such short notice, sorry."

She laughed at her own comment, easing tension as she flattened her skirt while Draco followed her to the door.

"I think notepad paper is good." Draco chuckled as Violet opened the door. "Actually I-"

Before he could finish his sentence, he was cut off the second Violet opened the door and started screaming with excitement. She was yelling out 'Oh my god' and 'No way' more times than Draco could count. Her adorable laugh echoed everywhere and she began running forward with open arms.

Draco watched as Violet jumped an inch off the ground, throwing her arms around an old friend of his like she knew him well. The man took a few unbalanced steps back as Violet collided against his chest, his arms wrapping around her as he caught her and carried her up. He held one hand against the back of her head and the other arm wrapped around her torso, laughing with her.

Her legs bent at her knees, the heels of her feet meeting her bum in a cute way that bothered Draco because she seemed to be acting this way with someone else.

"Adrian!" she giggled into his shoulder, getting placed back on the ground as she looked up at him in awe. "You're back! How was it?"

Adrian held her face in his large hands, looking down at her with that addictive smile he has, spread across his face. He always was so much taller than her compared to all the other men in her life, now he has to hunch over to see her clearer after all this time.

They haven't seen each other since about a month after her marriage; he had gone out to tour for Quidditch games around the world. Everywhere he went, he remembered to send Violet an old-time postcard with his location, catching her up on everything that happened in his life. Of course, Violet was never able to write back, seeing as he didn't stay in one place for too long, but she would text him a couple 'thank you' s' here and there.

They became a lot closer in that month after her marriage, seeing as he was going through a divorce with Pansy at the same time. Both of them were miserable and they decided to drown in misery together when they bumped into each other at a local bar, not knowing they'd become good friends after.

Violet deeply trusted Adrian, she never had a reason to believe he wasn't a good person; with time he showed her what good friendship was and too began to trust Violet more than anyone else in his life.

Pansy was furious when she found out Adrian would go to Violet for the console he needed after their separation. It seemed as though her ex-husbands had a thing for finding comfort in Violet.

"Were my constant post card rants not enough information?" Adrian chuckled as he leaned down to peck her cheek before placing his hand against it again. "It was honestly the best life experience I've ever had. Perhaps we could all talk about it tonight at a get together? Theo, you, me, this new guy Elio you told me about, I'd like to meet the chap."

"Yes!" Violet gasped. "Oh my gosh this calls for a celebration, I'll make some calls!"

By now, Violet had completely forgotten about Draco being a couple feet away from them, she still wasn't used to his presence being around again. It only got worse when another excited gasp was heard from the corner of the glass bridge, adding to the moment for Adrian's return.

"Is that Adrian Pucey in the building!?" Theo spoke loudly as he approached Adrian, pulling him into an embrace where he patted him repeatedly on the back. "Good to see you mate. How was the world?"

Violet folded her arms over her chest as she cocked her hip, giving Theo raised eyebrows and pursed lips for pulling Adrian away from her. Adrian and Theo were good friends despite Pansy being in the picture but she knew Theo was being extra in the moment because he wanted to be around her. She watched as Adrian kept his stance towards her but turned his eyes towards Theo as he spoke, giving her the respect of not turning his back on her.

"The world was good." Adrian gave a certain tone that Theo caught on with a laugh. "Loads of fans if you know what I mean."

"Oh, that's the life."

"Theo, shouldn't you be working?" Violet chimed in, making Theo's attention turn to her as he raised a file in his hand.

"Hi baby." he smiled cheekily, leaning forward to peck her cheek before she shoved him away with a grunt of annoyance. "I was coming by to drop off some important papers involving my department and some of the mission."

"You got the promotion?!" Adrian gasped, opening his arms for another manly hug for Theo. "That's just more reason for a celebration tonight!"

"We're celebrating tonight?" Theo looked around in confusion, placing a cigarette in the corner of his lips so it hung there as he spoke. "When was the last time we all hung out together?"

"A while." Violet was smiling so hard, her cheeks hurt. "I was thinking we can celebrate so many things tonight and go crazy. We have Adrian's return, your promotion -"

It was then when Violet realized a third reason to celebrate, she began to feel so utterly terrible.

Her eyes widened like she saw death and she turned her body around, catching eyes with Draco who looked all but happy. He had his hands in his pockets, a clenched jaw and furrowed brows as he watched them all conversate and make plans like he wasn't there.

Draco cocked his head to the side and took a step forward when he had finally caught Violet's attention, her face red with shame and guilt.

"A-a-and Draco's job and return!" she gasped awkwardly, motioning him to come over. "The whole gang's back together! This is going to be...fun!"

Adrian nearly choked, mid gasp when he saw Draco standing there. He had heard the story of their relationship situation from Violet, from their first encounter to their last. It all made him angry at Draco for treating Violet like an object to get himself off because he was in a miserable marriage and now seeing him back just made this shocking for Adrian.

He didn't want to cause a scene – he'll save that for later – it was better to deal with his anger towards Draco in a mature way for now.

"Doing good mate?" Adrian gave him a head nod, not bothering to extend his hand out. "I heard you had left, you know, no one knew where you were. You had a lot of us worried there, pretty boy."

Violet gave Adrian a stern look, not wanting a scene in the Ministry so that everyone could have more reasons to call her unfit for the position she has. She felt a little guilty, knowing the real reason Draco was in New York and how he had that panic attack but she couldn't just tell everyone about it, that was something confidential.

"That's the past right, Draco?" Violet tried to ease tension with her addictive laugh. "We're all here now and we could celebrate tonight at The Stall with some drinks and some fun."

Everyone nodded in approval besides Draco who looked around for further explanation but receiving none. He had missed plenty since his departure but the majority is easy to catch onto because it's familiar to him.

However, this 'The Stall' is not easy to catch onto.

"The Stall?"

"Oh, Violet ow-"

"I found a secluded club a while back and ever since we've been loyal customers." Violet interrupted Theo with a lie that made both him and Adrian frown. "It's called The Stall and it's honestly a wild place. I'm going to call the owner and set up a wild night for us to celebrate."

"Sounds good." Adrian gives an approving nod, smirking at Violet's lie. "Now, I'd love to stay and chat with everyone longer but I would love to keep my promise to Violet and go have some lunch with her on my first day back."

"Goodness, is it lunch already?!" Violet looked down at her phone, seeing it was thirty past twelve. "I really need to spend more time looking out of windows than at papers. Can I grab my things before we go?"

Adrian gave her a quick nod and Violet squealed with excitement, running past the three men towards her office doors. She left the doors open behind her – not needing to take long to grab her bag and wand – and closed them behind her as she ran back outside to leave with Adrian.

As she approached them, she noticed Draco making a leave towards her assistant's office, head down and fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. She ignored the sight and walked to Adrian, taking his hand in her own.

"You can leave the papers on my desk if you'd like, I'll check them when I get back." she spoke to Theo in a hurried way, smiling widely. "Also, leave early so you have time to dress for tonight, we'll meet you inside the club, I won't stay late here either."

"You two have fun at lunch, take care of her Adrian." Theo responded before placing a kiss on Violet's cheek. "See you later darling."
