Five

It had been at least a week since the anniversary celebration. Haneul felt stressed, exams were really hard and she barely had time for herself and to spend with Rocky, so when friday arrived, that meant she would rest and that made her extremely happy.

Placing her books inside her locker, she sighed and threw her bag over her shoulder. She spent the whole morning craving for her bed and some sleep, so all she wanted to do in that exact moment was to leave the campus. A pair of hands wrapped around her waist, startling her before she could feel the familiar scent through her nostrils.

"Hi" She greeted her boyfriend happily, who had just placed a kiss on her cheek.

He released the grip on her waist, so she was able to turn on her heels and lock eyes with him. Rocky smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Are you going home now?" He asked, she nodded.

"I'm exhausted, I just want some sleep" Haneul pouted, a gesture Rocky found extremely adorable on her.

"Alright, but remember tonight's Rowoon hyung's party. I'll be spending the evening with Yeonjun before he picks me up... Do you think you could go there?"

Haneul tilted her head.

"To Yeonjun's house?" Rocky nodded. "Sure, no problem. I'll give you a call so you can send me the adress" She smiled, brushing his bangs to the side with her fingers.

"Okay. I'll see you later then. I gotta go to class, please be careful on your way home"

Haneul smiled with a nod. Rocky leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her forehead before they could wave goodbye. She walked out of the school with a smile on her face whilst she thought about some outfits she could use at night.

Haeul wasn't much for parties, but that was Rocky's best friend, and there was no way she would ask him to go alone. Even if that meant she would just sit in front of a table with two guys talking about stuff she wouldn't understand.

She opened the front door of her house, walking in and stretching her body, feeling happy to be home. She took off her shoes and grabbed something to eat, so she could take a nap and then get ready.

A few hours later, the sun was setting and Haneul was checking herself in front of the mirror one more time. She dressed in a pair of jeans and a flower blouse with a jean jacket on top. She had her long hair straightened, a subtle makeup and a sweet scent. She smiled and grabbed her pink purse, ready to get into the taxi that was waiting for her in the street.

As she made her way to Yeonjun's place, she decided to call Rocky to get the correct address. After a few indications, she noticed how close his house was, being just a couple of blocks away from hers. She gave the taxi driver the money before jumping off the car and brushed her hair with her fingers, knocking on the door that suddenly cracked open, with Yeonjun greeting her right after.

"Hi" She smiled and waved at him. He smiled back.

"Thank God you're here. Rocky was going crazy" He responded jokingly and patted her head before he moved aside to let her in. "Do you want something to drink?"

Haneul just shook her head, distracted by how comfortable and pretty the house was. There was a lot of pictures hanging on the walls. The wooden floor was shiny and she felt warm thanks to the fireplace in the livingroom. The walls were painted in a bright cream color and the ceiling was adorned with chandeliers that gave the precise amount of light that was required.

"Follow me" Yeonjun said, gesturing with his head. She did as he said and found Rocky playing with a cat that was resting on his lap. "Your girl is here" He added, gaining his attention and a smile formed on his lips.

Rocky stood up and wrapped Haneul in a tight hug. She wrapped him as well into her arms and buried her face in the crook of his neck. She adored the way he smelled.

"It was about time. Rowoon is about to arrive" He said in his usual tone, a low and soothing one. She pulled back just a little, enough to lock eyes with him before she pressed her lips against his in a quick peck.

"I'm sorry, I was really tired and slept more than I expected" Haneul giggled, and Rocky smiled. "What about your family? I thought you were not coming with us because you had a reunion" She asked the blue haired boy as soon as her boyfriend released the grip on her frame.

Yeonjun scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah, my parents already left, I told them i'd reach them as soon as Rocky was gone" He shrugged. Haneul widened her eyes and slapped Rocky's arm, which took him by surprise.

"What?" He asked frowning. Haneul rolled her eyes.

"We're bothering. Call Rowoon and tell him to hurry!"

Yeonjun laughed at the scene. They weren't bothering at all, but it was fun to see Haneul and Rocky doing something different than just hugging and being cheesy.

Rocky was about to press Rowoon's number when a loud horn startled them. He just looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

"He's here"

"Okay, then let's go" Haneul quickly said, grabbing Rocky's hand and dragging him out of the house.

She opened the backseat's door and entered the car, congratulating Rowoon. However, Rocky took a bit longer so he could thank his best friend for receiving him.

"I wish you could go with us. It won't be that fun if you're not around, so I hope you can make it up to us" Rocky said as he shook Yeonjun's hand. The blue haired smiled and hugged his friend quickly.

"I will. Take care and have fun"

Rocky simply nodded and waved goodbye before he got into the car.

Yeonjun entered his house again so he could get ready to leave. But somehow, he was feeling uneasy. He didn't know what it was, but it felt like something just wasn't right.

I'm just overthinking.

He shook his head and decided to ignore his weird thoughts.

The night was pretty wild inside that club. Tons of people were dancing and sweating, some of them drinking, some other smoking. Haneul was sitting with the two guys next to her, one on each side of the table. They kept talking about anything and everything, joking around and laughing. They were drinking and she lost the count of how many shots they've already had, because she was kind of tipsy herself. She only wanted to go home and sleep, so she checked her phone and noticed it was past 2 a.m. She wasn't exactly having a blast, but it was pretty okay in the beginning. However, she got bored a while ago and just wanted them to leave as soon as possible.

She tugged at Rocky's sleeve a few times, pouting when he looked at her.

"Can we please go home? It's really late and I'm tired"

Everything, or at least most of the things Haneul asked, were Rocky's command. All he ever wanted was to grant every wish his girlfriend had, and that included this kind of scenarios. He knew how much she tried to make him happy and how often she would sacrifice herself to do things Rocky wanted to do as well. He looked at Rowoon, and he immediately catched the hint.

"Okay, let's go"

The three of them stood up and made their way to the parking lot. The place was so full of people that they even struggled a bit to go out. Rowoon grabbed the keys from his pocket and walked to his car.

Haneul frowned, and stopped Rocky by grabbing his hand. He turned around and looked at her, confused.

"I'll call a taxi, baby" She said, grabbing her phone and pressing the number.

Rocky just nodded, until Rowoon called them from the distance.

"Come on! Do I have to go home alone? I brought you here!"

Haneul wasn't sure, and Rocky looked trouble. He was a softie on the inside and he would easily feel guilty, so he just gave his girlfriend an apologetic smile.

"I'll go with him. It's his birthday and that would be rude"

She hesitated. She wasn't feeling comfortable with the idea.

"Are you sure?"

He nodded.

"You can go on the taxi, and I'll call you when I get home"

She kept silence for a couple of seconds, but then shook her head.

"I'll go with you"

"Are you sure you don't wanna take the taxi?"

She nodded with a small smile.

Rocky smiled and intertwined their fingers together. Haneul felt a sudden urge to stop him again, and take him by surprise cupping his face with her hands and placing a kiss on his lips that lasted a few seconds. She caressed his cheek with her thumbs.

"I love you so much" She whispered.

His eyes sparkled even under the moonlight.

"I love you more" He responded, pecking her on the lips again.

They finally decided to get into the car, but this time Rowoon asked Rocky to go in the passenger seat, and he did.

Haneul fastened her seat belt as soon as the engine was on. Rocky was about to do the same, but it seemed like it didn't work properly.

"Doesn't this seat belt work?" He asked. Rowoon shrugged.

"Not really, but it's okay. It's a short ride and you won't need it" He responded, patting on his shoulder.

The made their way back home. The streets were pretty dark, just being iluminated by the headlights. Rowoon kept talking non stop with Rocky, and even started to mess around with him by ruffling his hair and getting distracted.

That's when Haneul noticed a car coming their way. She felt like panicking.

"Rowoon, watch out!" She screamed. Rocky turned his head and locked eyes with her, with a look on his face that she wouldn't be able to forget.

A loud sound was the last thing she heard before everything went pitch black.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He opened the door as fast as he could and jumped off the car, running towards the building's entrance.

"Lee Haneul" He said, he was taken to the hospital room where she was.

He had tears streaming down his face. Everything felt like a horror movie and all he wanted to do was to wake up.

He saw her there, laying on that bed completely unconscious. He stood beside her and held her hand. She had bruises on her forehead and her lips, with dry blood on top.

He was trembling. He felt scared and like he couldn't breathe.

How will I do this? How did this happen? Everything was fine hours ago. Please wake up, please tell me you're okay.

As if she could hear his pleads, she opened her eyes. His heart started to race as fast as ever. She looked confused and in pain.

"Y-Yeonjun?"

He nodded, sniffling and wrapping her hand with both of his.

"You're okay, you will be okay"

She noticed how red and his eyes were. He was crying. That's when she noticed she was in the hospital. She immediately felt like panicking, like she had a lump forming on her throat.

"Where's Rocky?" She asked, sitting up. She looked into Yeonjun's eyes, but nothing came out of his mouth. "Yeonjun, where is Rocky? Is he hurt?!" She insisted, feeling and sounding hysterical.

Yeonjun bit his lip hardly, as tears kept pooling from his eyes.

"Haneul..." He muttered.

Haneul felt like fainting.

"Yeonjun, please tell me where he is!" She begged, standing up from the bed and now grabbing the neck of his shirt, pulling on it, but he just kept sobbing. That's when she knew. "No... Please, no" She said, shaking her head followed by hot tears streaming down her face.

Yeonjun looked down and cried.

Haneul screamed at the top of her lungs and cried her eyes out. That was the most heartbreaking, horrible sound Yeonjun had ever heard.

Her legs gave up, and she fell on her knees, crying on the floor. Yeonjun dropped on his knees and just wrapped her with his arms whilst she cried louder than ever. She grabbed his shirt, digging her nails on the cloth. She felt like drowning, like the world she lived in just fell apart.

The nurses rushed to that room and pushed him away from her. She was screaming and crying so loud that it was terrifying. He kept crying as he saw her breaking down like never before. He had never seen her cry before.

"Please, leave the room" The doctor said. He didn't want to, he kept looking at her, so vulnerable and hurt. "Please, you can't be here" He repeated, and he exited the room.

Yeonjun pressed his back against the cold wall and let his body go down. He covered his face with his hands and cried like a baby. His chest felt heavy, but empty at the same time. He felt so hurt it was just like someone had stabbed him several times, leaving him to bleed until he died.

This can't be happening.

His best friend had died, and took more than one heart with him.
