Keep Calm and Be Emotionless

Chapter 1

April 30, 1990- Monday

I have to write in this book like it's my stupid diary but, I guess I'm going to so my doctor can lay off me.

I think I'm supposed to say a little about myself. I'm Nina Raeme and I turned 19 on January 16. I'm almost done with my last miserable year of Brimwedge High then I'm going to start two more miserable years at Pierce College.

I have this condition that the so-called smart doctors don't understand. My condition makes me a bit emotionless to everything or at least that's what people say. They came to a conclusion that it's like I have double personalities. It's as if I'm a half werewolf and half demon. They also said that as I get older, I'll be either normal or purely wicked. My family, friends, basically the entire pack is making sure that I don't end up with the wrong one.

Here's a little about my family; my grandparents Victor and Rena had quadruplets like everyone in our family and they named them, Rick, Eric, Nora, and Amya. They started this ridiculous tradition where the names of their children start with the letters of the mother's name.

Moving on, they all died in a fire.

Except for my mother Nora. She fled and met my father Zachary but the pack calls him Alpha Zach and he's a dwarf. They had quadruplets as well. I'm first, then my brother Ottis, my sister Rena who is also a dwarf, and my other brother Arcturus. We are all part of our huge group of friends but it's basically all of us in our little circles together.

My circle consists of my best friend, Veronica Campbell who most people would call mean and spiteful but I would say she's someone you don't want to mess with. Veronica is headstrong, knows what she wants and doesn't let anyone get in her way.

In Ottis' circle, there are Frank Smith and London West who are annoyingly in love with each other but, they can't have any babies because they are both infertile. There's also Sear Black, London's best friend who I think has a stupid name like the store Sears. She's really awkward, painfully shy and has a severe case of anxiety. One time I tried to have a conversation with her and she kept giving me the shortest answers that made me feel uncomfortable.

In Rena's circle, there are Charolette Hutts and Chris Anderson- another annoying couple. They found out they were mates when they were ten and haven't been apart since. Rebecca Ross is also part of Rena's posse. She dreams of working in the medical field one day but dreads the years of schooling. To say she doesn't like me is an understatement but, there're a lot of people that don't like me so she can get in line.

Lastly, in Arcturus's circle, there are Wyatt Rosa and Cinderella Rosa who are mates. They aren't siblings it just that Rosa is supposedly a common Latin last name. Also, Cinderella hates her name because it reminds her of that idiot of a princess in that stupid Disney movie. She makes everyone call her Ella but I call her Cinder which she hates, so let say she doesn't like me either. They aren't like the other mates because they fight a lot. More than human couples do and I've seen the movies; they are a mess. Every week it's something new and the whole group knows their weekly routine. Have a fight on Monday, be mad on Tuesday, feel guilty on Wednesday, cry it out on Thursday, fix it up on Friday, fall in love on Saturday and cool it down on Sunday.

A big group of thirteen teenagers and we're not all best friends. Ottis is a lazy, entitled dolt and Arcturus is annoying. Rena stands by my side to make sure I don't go all evil but at least she stays out of my way. Frank, London, Charolette, Chris and especially Sear are really irritating. I hate Rebecca and Cinder and I couldn't care less for Wyatt. Out of the twelve of them, Veronica and Rena are the only ones I'll call my friends. Actually, acquaintance seems suitable for Rena.

I got to sleep because my training to be the leader of the pack begins tomorrow after school.
