0.6 Nothing
"Nothing really happened" I repeated
"That's not what Ethan is telling people." Perry showed his crooked teeth.
"he can say what he wants."
"Why are you such a pushover?"
"Says you. People are constantly questioning your sexuality, just because no one knows who your boyfriend is."
"I don't need to prove that I'm gay, it's obvious."
"You and Ethan had sex?" Jill screamed down the hall.
"Shut up, we know he's lying, what really happened Sam? Tish smiled
"I can't deal with this right now, we didn't have sex, he's an ass hole, that's all you need to know."
"Why are you letting him-"
"Stop!"
"Are you on your period? Jill smiled
"Both of you, just leave," Perry said
"Whatever," Jill said, leaving with Tish
"Just answer please, why do this to yourself, allow them to spread rumors?" Perry asked
"Perry, you tell people you're gay, because why? I know your not because it's easier than the truth."
"How did you know?"
"I have always known, you're more of a Jughead than a Kevin Keller."
"Gay is an easier explanation than asexual."
"You don't need to give them an explanation. Your true friends, don't ask for one."
I walked away from Perry, knowing he was watching me. Everyone was always watching, that's a part of the popularity package.
Perry was an okay friend, still, I told him nothing about myself, and tried to help him. Jill, however, was the girl who loved gossip, she wasn't the smartest, making her the most popular girl in school.
Then there was Tish, the girl who was actually nice, caring, but easily influenced. I was just the girl who didn't care.
"How's Cory?" Dylan whispered
"Fine."
"Sam, I know that your two faced, but not with me, you owe me that don't you?"
"My mom wasn't told me much, so I assume he's fine." I lied
"Alright."
"Why do you still talk to me?"
"We used to be friends, it meant something to me, your pooular, I'm not. You didn't really ditch me, you just. I don't know. How did you get here, stuck in another life you didn't want, one were you life a lie?"
"I don't know."
"Here, copy my notes since I know you can't really see without your glasses."
Records, records, records,
lights, lights, lights
tears, tears, tears and more tears.
So many things I kept quiet, and I didn't know why. Every day I covered up the things I loved most, my tattoo, my freckles, my glasses, my music, my books, Shawn.
"Sam?" My mom questioned. I quickly wiped my tears as she walked closer to my bed, which contained too many pillows and books.
"Yeah?"
"Dylan is here, can I let her in?" My mom asked with confusion
"Why is she here?"
"I don't know."
"Sure let her in."
Dylan, Dylan, Dylan. She was there, in every memory of my childhood, she was the girl who people thought was my sister. She was always there, until one day she just wasn't.
"Your room hasn't really changed."
"I added to my collections, though."
"You practically have a home library and record shop in your bedroom."
"Living in the dream."
"What happened to you?"
"What?"
"Anyone with eyes can see you're falling apart."
"Well then everyone doesn't care, or perhaps their eyes are made of glass, maybe even wood. Why are you here?"
"I, I wanted to make sure, that you were okay."
"I'm fine."
Dylan took a seat on the end of my bed and watched as I read my book. I wasn't really reading, it was just for show, maybe she would leave.
"You're prettier with no makeup and glasses, your also the most interesting person I know. It's a shame that you bronze your face and wear pink sweaters. The smart, tattooed glass wearing sam, is so much better." Dylan spoke
She stood up from my bed then walked towards my records.
"I'm always here, I'll see you at school."
I hated how right she was, I hated everything I was going through, I hated being alone, I hated being this fake version of myself.
What do you guys think will happen with Sam?
Why aren't Sam and Dylan friends?
