❝Meeting Steve Rogers,❞

      Kia was the first to notice the two enhanced people, and Natasha who was standing quite rigid - but she suspected it was from the cold. "Natasha." Maddie said calmly as she walks towards the red head, she turns to see Maddie and rolls her eyes. 

"Captain Rogers, Doctor Banner. Meet Maddison Thompson." Natasha says, moving away so Steve and Bruce could finally see the young 27 year old, Bruce smiled kindly at her and she rolled her eyes. 

"Good to see you again Bruce." She says, as he pulls her into a small side hug - Natasha looked at her weirdly and she rolled her eyes. "We met when Fury sent me on a mission to India, over borders enhanced individual trying to sell guns to a government and then kill them all." Maddison says to her before her eyes floated over to Steve Rogers. 

"Sorry, I'm Maddison." She says, holding her hand out for him to shake and he grasped it lightly before shaking it. 

"Steve." He says, and a smile tugged at her lips. 

"I know. Me and Coulson were there when you were frozen in the ice. Heard about you saving Kia, as well." She says, pointing towards the war dog that was hanging behind as she was talking to someone on the phone. 

"Gentleman, and ladies - you may want to step inside it's going to get a bit hard to breathe." Natasha says, and Maddison smirks as she watches Steve walk forward. 

"Is this a submarine?" He questions, and Maddison shakes her head. 

"No, Steve. It's a shark shaped submarine." She teased, Natasha rolled her eyes as her sarcasm as the air waves pulled off. 

"Really? They want me in a submerged pressurised metal container?" Bruce questions as he and Steve walk forward, Maddison guessed Steve ignored her sarcastic remark and she rolled her eyes before going to stand back beside Kia. "Oh no, this is much worse." Bruce commented, and Maddison let out a loud laugh.

"That's why you've got me bruce, I'll keep you calm!" She shouted, and he turned and smiled at her tightly.

      Steve, Natasha, Kia, Bruce and Maddison all walked through to the front deck ― where everything was controlled, Fury was standing by his panels as Steve comes to a halt beside Maddison. "So, how long have you been working for S.H.I.E.L.D?" He asks, trying to make small talk with the girl beside him. 

"6 years, may be the best years of my life." She answered, and Steve looked over at her. She looked remarkably young to be in this job, but he didn't say anything. "Many people say it Steve, I know I look to you ― but I'm 27, old enough." She says not even looking at him to know that he was thinking it. 

"Gentleman, and lady." Fury says, as they disappeared into the air. Steve handed Fury a ten pound note, and Fury smirked. Maddison cocked a brow, and reminded herself to ask about it later. 

As Steve looked around, Maddison noticed Maria's eyes follow him and she rolled her eyes ― feeling an unknown feeling surge through her body. "Doctor, thank you for coming." Fury says, as he talked to Bruce Banner. 

"Thanks for asking nicely." Bruce says, shaking his hand and Maddison leans against a chair. Bruce's eyes floated over to the agent that he had grown close too while she had her mission in India. "So eh, how long am I staying?" He questioned.

"Once we get our hands on the tesseract. You're in the wind." He says, and Bruce nods before walking over to Maddison. "Where are you with that?" He asks, Maddison turns to look at him, and sighs. 

"We're sweeping every freely accessed camera across the planet." Coulson says, as Maddison leans her head against Bruce's shoulder ― knowing this was going to be a long couple of days, or even weeks until they got back the tesseract.

"Couldn't sleep?" Steve questions, as Maddison snaps her fists against a punching bag in front of her. Maddison turned around to see him leaning against the wall ― Maddison sighs, unwrapping her hands and throwing the tape onto the bench beside her.

"Should ask you the same thing," She musters, and he rolls his eyes ― like he had been asked that one too many times. "But I'm not going too, by the eye roll ― I'm guessing everyone has asked you that." Maddison teases and a small smile tugs at the edges of his lips.

"I've been in ice for too long, ma'am." He says, and Maddison rolls her eyes ― before sauntering over to him. His eyes watched her every move as she walked closer to him until she was only a couple footsteps away from him.

"That's another things Rogers, if we're going to work together ― you're going to have to stop calling me ma'am. It's Maddison or Maddie." She says, before walking past him. "Oh, and if you ever want a show around New York ― you know where to find me." She says, winking at him before leaving the room.
