Chapter 5
Hoseok twirled his slender fingers around the delicate goblet of wine. He's preoccupied.
"Any progress on the new case?" asked Amora, his best friend, who was leaning against the table and watching him.
"Progressing," Hoseok said casually, waving his goblet.
She gave him a dubious look.
"OK, I admit it," Hoseok conceded. "It's taking a little longer than I expected, but I'm getting there."
"It's a hopeless case," Amora said, turning away from the angels who sat across from her. "We've already told you."
Hoseok muttered to himself, "He's not hopeless."
Yoongi is attractive and handsome. He's not particularly tall, just average. His stature is diminutive. He's cuter than he is handsome. Yoongi has silky hair, fair translucent skin, and slanted cat-like eyes.
When he smiles, he transforms into something beautiful.
Hoseok forgot his place for a second when he saw it for the first time.
Whoever he chooses as his future partner will be extremely fortunate.
Yoongi is gentle and kind, but he doesn't have any friends. He simply keeps to himself. His actions are repetitive as a result of his desire for normalcy in his daily life. He prefers routine and dislikes surprises. Outside of office hours, he tries to maintain minimal contact with his colleagues.
He is so afraid of becoming attached that he refuses to keep pets - no cute puppies, adorable kittens, or even a detached goldfish.
In his apartment, he only has ferns and succulents to keep him company.
Hoseok circled in his swivel office chair, watching Yoongi's every move. Every minuscule change in his demeanour is critical to his research.
The young man is devoted to his work. He's focused and efficient. When his assistant is slack, his tone becomes clipped.
When Yoongi is tired, he will massage the back of his neck while twisting around in his seat to find a comfortable position.
He drank far too much caffeine. I ate too little and poorly. His skin turned pink easily, especially when Yoongi caught Hoseok staring at him intently.
Hoseok couldn't agree more that studying a subject up close and personal yields results, especially when dealing with cases like Yoongi.
His mother may disagree, but every cupid should try this method and take their time with the subject. He believes that finding the perfect match for a subject takes time - weeks, months, even years.
Not all cupids have the guts or the strength to try this method.
