Chapter 3
Yoongi's weekend was no different than any other.
On Saturday, he mostly stayed at home, doing laundry, cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and so on. He went grocery shopping three blocks away from his apartment in the evening.
Hoseok was almost excited on Sunday because Yoongi wore smart jeans and a stylish sweater instead of his clean-cut suits. The cupid was upbeat because he thought Yoongi was going out to meet someone. The cupid perked up when he bought a bunch of crimson roses from the same street vendor. He was ecstatic at the prospect of meeting Yoongi's ideal match and shooting the love arrow.
When Yoongi drove his car to the city cemetery, the cupid was completely perplexed. What kind of date would this person go on in a place like this?
Hoseok followed the young man as he marched into the cemetery, flowers clutched close to his breast.
He arrived at a large marble twin tombstone. Kneeling in the dirt, he carefully placed the flowers on the tombstone. Then he stared unblinkingly at the tomb head.
Hoseok was watching with bated breath. Throughout his entire career, he had never encountered a human subject like Yoongi. Countless young people he assisted back then had been easy compared to this man.
Hoseok simply couldn't get a reading from him.
The young man's gaze then shifted. As his head bowed forward, he let out a soft sigh through parted lips. The lashes on his eyes fluttered. The lower lip trembled. The gentle breeze ruffled the carefully combed hair.
Then it dawned on the cupid.
The man had lost his family, most likely his parents. He is still in mourning over his loss. That is why he has no room in his heart for love. It's tightly shut. He's afraid to open up, afraid to get close to another human being.
The agony of losing someone you care about is indescribable.
Hoseok sat contemplatively on a high branch of a tall metasequoia tree in Yoongi's back yard.
Yoongi is having his Sunday dinner alone, which is unsurprising. It was just a routine tv dinner.
Since his visit to the graveyard, the gloomy aura around him seemed to have grown darker.
Hoseok needs to improve his game. It's not an option to let down your mother. To complete his task, he must take drastic measures. It doesn't matter because he could get in trouble again for breaking the rules.
