I sigh and pull my phone out. "Stop, you'll attract monsters!" Percy yells.

"Bite me," I say and dial the Doctor.

The Doctor is a peculiar man. He is a time lord, he has two hearts. He lives in a blue police box called the Tardis.

The Doctor answers on the third ring. "Jade, I don't have time for talking..."

"Get your but to New York right now, or so help me God..."

"Alright, I'm coming," he says. I hang up the phone.

"Jade, we need to make a move, we're too exposed here," Cole says.

"If it's all the same to you, I'm gonna wait for my ride," I say. Cole sighs. I look at him then at the others.

"That's not going to work. We need to take you back with us. You're not safe out here alone," Cole says.

"Honey, I can take care of myself. Besides, I've always been alone, why change?" I say.

"You don't have to be alone," he says.

"Yeah, you can have a family, like me or Sky." He refers to the girl.

"Hey, sister!" Sky says. I am about to ask what she is talking about, when I hear the cranking of the Tardis. I turn and look at the blue box materializing. I nearly cry out in joy. The Doctor steps out of the Tardis.

"Explanation, Doctor, now," I say and cross my arms. He sighs.

"What how does she know who I am?" I point at Sky.

"We probably went into the past in the future to talk to her." He shrugs. "Could be anything. She could be psychic."

I roll my eyes. "Stop trying to shift the blame! What did you do?" I say. He sighs.

"A better question is 'What will I do?'" he says. Then, he sees "my kind". "Hello, I'm the Doctor. How do you do?"

"I'm Cole. That's Sky, Leo, and Percy."

"Why did you give him confidential information?" Percy asks. Cole shrugs.

"Percy, it's your name. 'confidential' my -"

"Language," Sky says. Cole sighs.

"Whatever."

"You should go with them. Two of them have similar DNA. Probably have the same dad." The Doctor waves around his sonic screwdriver.

"I don't want to know my father," I snap. He holds his hands up in mock surrender.

"Okay."

I turn on the people. "I'll be going. I don't need you," I spit at them. "I've made on the streets longer than you. I will survive."

"Well, that's the thing, you have to come with us," Percy says and smirks. I feel arms wrap around me and a rag press to my face. I scream and struggle but I am pulled into the darkness.
