Chapter Three ~Heavenly Toys and Joey Drew~
"Well why not? Don't you love your jobs here?" Susie asked as she scanned the room. Posters of Bendy and Boris smiled down at the workers, but Alice Angel wasn't on the walls.
Shawn Flynn sighed. "Just stop asking questions, and everything will be fine." He snapped. Sammy and Wally agreed. The group silently ate their lunches.
"Alright. Let's get back to work! Remember to work hard and work happy!" Joey said as he entered the break room. Shawn rolled his eyes. He knew that Susie would trail after him discussing the reason why that Angel whatchamacallit wasn't selling. Just like she had before their lunch break.
"Tell me, Mr. Flynn, how did you start working here?" Susie asked as they descended the stairs to the Heavenly Toys room.
"Joey was looking for a man who knew what he was doing; who knows how to appeal to the kids. I just so happened to fit the bill." Shawn explained. "Now get back to work before Mr. Drew catches you slackin'." Susie hurried off to the Alice Angel room and Shawn returned to his post.
"Excuse me, Mr. Flynn? How does this Bendy doll look?" An employee asked him. Shawn took it and examined it.
"I think it looks fine. Go ahead and pack it up with the rest of them." Shawn instructed. The employee smiled and headed to the boxes that were being filled with Bendy and Boris plushies.
Joey Drew walked into the Heavenly Toys room. His eyes scanned the various workers packing away different sized plushies, painting on faces, and stitching up the last few that needed it.
He walked over to a worker boxing up the dolls. The box contained Bendy and Boris dolls... But no Alice. However, that wasn't what caught Joey's attention. A crooked smile on a Bendy doll... All packed up and ready for shipment. This wouldn't do. He snatched the doll from the crate and headed over to Shawn.
Mr. Flynn was currently stitching together a Boris doll. Joey tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around.
"Oh. Hello there, Mr. Drew. How can I help you?" Shawn asked as he picked up the Boris doll and continued working on it.
"Stop what you're doing and look at this." Joey demanded. He looked up at the doll. To Shawn it seemed perfectly fine. Another Bendy doll to be sold to children. What was the big deal?!
"What? It looks like all the others that I've produced. Why are you makin' such a big deal about this?" Shawn questioned him.
"The big deal is that it has a crooked smile. I expect perfection! If it isn't perfect we could lose views on the cartoons and our profits will go down! Do you want that?!" Joey screamed. Shawn sighed.
"No, Mr. Drew. We don't. I'll get to work on it." Shawn said in a low tone. Joey changed back to his happy go lucky self.
"Thank you. Now. Remember... Work hard and work happy!" Joey said as he made his way to Alice Angel's room.
"For Christ's sake! He needs to chill! Go ahead and pack them up. They're fine the way they are." Shawn instructed. "Don't tell me how to do my job."
