Chapter Five ~Some Doubts and Small Changes~
~Sorry for not updating! Here's a new chapter!~
Joey sighed as he collapsed in his chair. Wally was just doing his job. He shouldn't have snapped at his employee like that. Ever since he got diagnosed, he was slowly changing. His usual bright and cheery self molded into a rude and angry man. The employees avoided eye contact with him.
"Why can't things go back to the way they were before?" Joey muttered as he rolled up the blue prints. The ink machine plans had been mailed to him by an old family friend. Joey knew that the ink machine was capable of many great things. Some of those things being good...and bad...
Joey got up once more, turned off the light in his office and shut the door. Maybe a good night's sleep will help him clear his head. Joey walked down the hall and into the main room of the building. The hall to the Art Department was dark which meant that no one was in there hurriedly finishing a frame for the most recent cartoon. He gazed at the doorway leading to the Music Department.
'I can hear whistling... Wally must be down there.' Joey concluded as he made his way down the stairs. The lights were still on and the whistling got a tad bit louder. He headed towards the Performance Hall and saw Wally arranging the chairs in the band's preferred arcs.
"Wally!" Joey exclaimed. For the second time that night Wally jumped. He spun on his heel and saw Joey. He quickly averted his eyes on to the wooden floor.
"Y-Yes, sir?" Wally asked.
"Please look me in the eye when I am speaking with you. I wanted to say that I apologise for that outburst I had. I'm just very tired. I bet that you are too. I'm letting you leave the studio for the night. Consider it a job well done." Joey explained.
Wally looked up at Joey. Joey smiled and Wally knew that he was trying to be kind. But why?
"Thank you, Mister Drew! I greatly appreciate it!" Wally said as he propped his broom against the wall. Joey and Wally began their decent upwards.
'Hopefully if I be nice enough then the workers will be okay with me putting in that ink machine...'
