Chapter Six
"Okay, everyone, listen to me." Madi began. She could tell that her friends were nervous and they had every right to be. But they were going to have to trust her if they wanted to get out of this alive and in one piece. "You see those people, right? I know those guys. They're after me, not you. If you exit the car-"
"You want us to get out? Are you insane?" Corbin growled. His voice wasn't as angry as it was frightened. But it still got his point across that he was in no condition to get out of the white vehicle. Madi knew that the others agreed with him, too. They didn't want to move an inch.
"If you guys peacefully exit the car, I'm sure these people won't hurt you. Don't give them any means or motive to attack. Don't even look them in the eyes. Don't close the car doors after leaving, either. The noise might trigger an ambush." Madi explained.
"What about you?" Ashley asked.
"Yeah, aren't you coming with us?" Jeromy questioned. Madi shook her head.
"These people are here because of me. I should've never agreed to do this gig with you guys, otherwise you wouldn't be in so much danger." She looked from one face to the next, realizing that these people might be the last kind faces she'd ever see. Jeromy, Ashley, Kimberly, the entire band. This could be the end. But they weren't going to leave her if they knew that. "Make your way to safe ground on the other end of the bridge. When you're all there, I'll get out and follow. I'll be right behind you." The brigde buckled once more and made a loud whining groan. "Go now!"
Quickly, each band member climbed out of the SUV, leaving the doors open like Madi had suggested, and started walking across the rickety old bridge. The Foot soldiers stared at them as they went, but didn't attack once they realized that Madi was not among them. They knew that she was still in the vehicle, they could see her vampire costume through the windows. She watched them as well and waited patiently for them to get to safety.
But she had no intention of following them.
Once the last TAF member crossed onto the concrete street, she unbuckled her seat-belt, jumped up and climbed into the driver's seat, strapped herself in, and gripped the steering wheel tightly. Her palms were covered in nervous sweat. She didn't know how to drive a car. At all. So this was either going to be really cool or really deadly. For her or the soldiers, she wasn't sure. Moving the joystick to her right and into the 'R' position, she slammed her foot against the gas.
The SUV immediately began to fly backwards across the bridge like an enormous white bullet. Foot soldiers lept out of the way as fast as they could and dived over the side to avoid being ran over, but some of them weren't so lucky as to escape. Madi could tell because of the temporary bumps the vehicle would go over that she knew hadn't been there before. She just hoped that they didn't suffer too much as they were smashed by the tires of the huge car.
Luckily, the doors had closed from the speed of the car, pulled by gravity, and locked with a simple click of the button on the side door, that way she didn't accidentally let one of the ninjas in. That was definitely a problem she didn't need at the moment. With a flick of her neck, she'd glance behind her, then infront of her to keep an eye on her persuers.
Yep, they were still chasing after her, even though she was moving at over seventy-five miles an hour. Her heart pounded in her chest like the beat of a drum. This was her first time driving and she knew that her superiors would not have been impressed. But that didn't matter then. All that mattered was that she got out of this with her life. A small smirk appeared on her face even though the moment looked bleak. If she got out of this alive and without the help of the Turtles, she'd be able to prove that she didn't need their protection.
She was determined to prove them wrong.
Madi was almost there, almost back across the bridge to the safety of the other end, literally only feet away, when the loudest burst of sound erupted from underneath the car and shook her in her seat. The weight had become too much. The wooden boards were shattering from the pressure of the ninjas and the car combined. The bridge was going down with her on it.
With a slam on the breaks and another shift of the joystick, the SUV suddenly lurched forward. This end of the bridge was no longer an option as the boards crashed into the river below. It was ahead or down, no more backwards. As the tires rolled beneath her, she became aware of the increasing pressure she put on the gas as she went from over seventy-five miles an hour to a quick ninety. But even though she amped up her speed, it didn't seem like the SUV was going any faster. If anything, it seemed like it was going slower. She quickly turned her head back around behind her to see what the hold-up was and immediately regretted it.
The entire first half of the bridge was submerged and being dragged away by the river below along with the unluckly Foot soldiers that had been too slow. Madi didn't want to think about how cold that water was going to be towards the end of October. With a loud scream of raw fear, the back of the SUV dipped down so the vehicle was slanted at an odd angle. She was almost there, though. Just a few more yards.
She was going to make it. She had to. Madi could feel the triumph of survival inside herself. It was just feet away. She could even see the frightened faces of her friends in the beams of yellow from the streetlights. They were cheering her on, pumping their fists and screaming her name. Madi was almost home-free. This was it.
Then the bridge disappeared beneath her and the car vanished from sight in the darkness of night.

He saw the bridge buckle. He saw the white SUV blast over the wooden support, not bothering to avoid the Foot soldiers as she ran over and killed them one by one. He saw the ruthlessness in her movements as she struggled for survival. She was a fighter. She was a born-killer. Shredder smirked at the sight.
She'd join him eventually. Eventually.
She just needed the right persuading tools.
He saw the bridge sink beneath the large deadly waves of the river, the SUV along with it. With her inside. The deadly metal monster shook his head. He knew that the water could kill her, the freezing tempuratures would freeze her already-frozen blood and stop her lungs from breathing. But she was a survivor. A struggler.
With a tap of a button on his wrist, he called off his soldiers and told them to return home without her. She'd find him on her own time. In her own way. The car sank and the ninjas dressed in black retreated, leaving the scene as a teenage band looked over the edge of a new and gruesome cliff and sobbed at the death of their friend.
