Grey's POV:

When we got to the pack house I jumped off Blu's back and shifted into my wolf form. The scene in front of me was like one out of a horror movie, Bodies lay on the blood stained ground and there were women and children running around screaming trying to get to safety. Luckily I  didn't see any of our pack members among the dead so that meant we were doing a great job of holding them off.

"LOOK OUT" Blu screamed from behind me

I turned around just in time to see an auburn colored wolf charging at me. I braced myself for its impact, it tackled me to the ground and had me laying on my back while it tried to rip at my throat. I used my hind legs to kick it off of me sending it flying into the tree behind us. I was in front of it again before it could get up, I used my front paws to pin it down so I could rip its throat out. I was disgusted when I tasted its coppery blood in my mouth, I've never liked having to kill my own kind but it was either that or be killed.

I turned around and saw Blu fighting off his own wolf, he had the upper hand so I took of to see where I was needed. I stopped walking when I heard a whimper of pain and an angry growl. Nash was trying to fight off two very large wolves but he looked injured and they were using that to their advantage. I made sure I was silent while ran up to one of the dirty brown colored wolves that were attacking him. I tackled him to the ground, he was taken by surprise so it was easy for me to use my claws and slit his throat.

when I turned back to Nash he was finishing off the other wolf and looking at me with pride and appreciation. looking around the battle field I saw that almost all the rogues were dead and unfortunately about ten of our own had perished in the battle. the rogues that weren't dead were retreating to the woods followed behind some of our warriors who were making sure they were out of pack territory.

a feeling of dread set in my heart when I saw Blu and my brother hovering over a bloody figure. I ran over to them and I thought my heart was going to fall right out of my chest. laying on the ground covered in her own blood was Lyla, her chest was rising and falling very slowly and I could hear a faint heart beat. she was going to die.

"Ly" I said my voice trembling, eyes welling up with tears.

"Hey Love" she said a faint smile appearing on her face but it looked like it hurt for her to even do that.

"your going to be okay Lyla, we'll get the pack doctor and he will fix you right up" I said grabbing her hand with tears freely falling down my face.

"I cant be fixed grey but I want you guys to know that I love you and you have been the best friends a girl could ever ask for" she said "Grayson, even though I just found you my time with you has been the highlight of my life, I love you and I thank the moon goddess for the short time that she allowed me to spend with you" she said her eyes glossing over with tears.

"Stop saying good bye I just found you please don't leave me" he said trying to hold back sobs

Lyla's breathing got heavier and she fell into a coughing fit when the blood started to fall out of her mouth I knew she was close. when her eyes closed and her hand went limp in mine I knew she was gone. Not even my Brothers heart breaking sobs and begs for her to wake up could make this real. My best friend, my sister was gone.

I watched as Grayson picked up her broken body and walked her towards the pack house, still sobbing. Blu picked me up bridal style and carried me to my house and up to my room. and it was there that we lay in my bed together crying over our best friend.
