A gust of cold breeze blew across the remote snowy hilltop of Patriata; slapping her hair onto her face in process.

A lone tear collected in the confines of her eye dripped down her chin. Ragged breaths continued to escape her lips as she continued to gawk at the bottomless pit of abyss, which his eyes were.

"I promise you, I will never leave you. Even if everyone else does, I will always stay by your side. Always—"

His long sworn promise rang in her ears once again and she made an attempt to gulp down the lump of sobs blocking her breathing. Her vision becoming blurry with the tears pooling in her eyes.

"Any last wish?" He mocked. A slow, sinister and unforgiving smirk stretching across the corner of his lips while he continued to point the barrel of the gun towards her, who stood rooted to the spot.

"You can try and make an attempt to run from yourself, but not from your fate. Wherever you go, it will keep following you like death. And whatever is written, is going to come to pass—No matter our pleas."

A voice rang in her ears and Fajer closed her eyes, letting the tears drip down her cheeks. When she opened her eyes, a small, contented smile was etched on her face. Even through tears, she was at peace. Finally.

'Maybe in another world, another lifetime, we might be destined for a happy ending. But not here, not this time.'

The man scoffed in disgust and only a moment later the sound of gunshot rang through the hills of Patriata, shattering its peace and quiet.

With quivering lips, Fajer dropped to the ground as her legs gave away from underneath her. His face still reflecting in her azure orbs and blazing the pits of her soul.
