okay, so there's this thing people do where they make a lesbian/gay character wither bi or straight so they can insert their opposite gender of, and it just annoys me A LOT.

then there's this argument that straight characters (clary fray, veronica lodge, jughead Jones ect) get gay fics for them so why's it any different for gay characters to get the same treatment?

but like, gay characters in tv shows basically always say they're gay on the show or it's confirmed by a show runner. they are canon gay. but presumed straight characters are never confirmed to be straight. veronica lodge may seem straight, but since she hasn't said 'im straight' you can't assume she is. but making girl ocs for specifically stated gay characters, you're being ignorant and rude.

for example, in the first season of riverdale, cheyrl blossom seemed absolutely straight, right? like the most heterosexual girl on the show. then it's revealed she's bisexual. because she never said 'i am straight', it makes sense she can be bi. but characters that say 'im gay' are gay.

so don't say "i imagine him as straight!!!" or "i think she's actually bi, bot lesbian!" bc ur being literally SO annoying. if you love the character so much, just write an oc of their gender preference!! boys and girls are not that different, so if u want an oc for a gay character, write a fucking male oc! it's not that hard!

and if u can't do that, make a fic for the actor. it's not rocket science.
