13. Champagne Bottles

"Co-author?"

Jason and Rebecca sprinted to him after they found him sitting at his original desk, the one next to Draven's office.

They were looking around to determine if Draven was anywhere near, but when they assured he was not, the leaned forward secretively, "How can you go for toilet cleaning to co-author?"

Eric knew how, but he shrugged his shoulders, "I guess he just realized how good I was."

"Don't you lie to me, Eric!" Rebecca hissed, frowning, "Are you two dating?"

"He's not gay," Eric lied.

"I know he's not gay," Jason took it without question, "but there must be a reason he is all over you again."

Eric shrugged his shoulders, remember what Draven had told him.

"Don't say anything to anybody," he had said sternly, "If it comes out, we'll both be in insane shit."

He was unsure if they were officially dating, but one thing was certain, they were something.

"No," Eric lied again, "I'm not sure what's the reason either."

Jason and Rebecca were not the only one on the floor wondering where such revelation had come from, especially Miranda who purposely marched by him with steady glares, and Elsa who had been moved to the worst desk on the floor. He felt guilty, but it was not him who had chosen for Draven to fall in love with him, and it was not as if he didn't find Draven exceptionally handsome.

Draven stepped onto the floor with excitement plastered on his face, and he smiled, "Everyone, stop what you're doing!"

All the staff members looked up, and finally noticed Draven was holding a bottle of champagne in his palm. He smirked when the attention was gained, and said, "My press conference reached seven million views online, causing one two million pre-order of the book Cold Shoulder! Hence why, today you will still all get paid, but—" he popped the top of the champagne bottle and the foam exploded everywhere, "let's celebrate!"

Everyone cheered, standing from their seats and applauding him. He then screamed, "I would like you all to applaud Eric as well, since I would not have been able to have done this without him."

Although it was not the same energy, Eric received a few applauds as he nervously shuffled at his spot.

Draven smiled excitingly, "Let's celebrate!"

A bunch of workers from the cafeteria entered the floor with bottles after bottles, everyone grabbing a drink and the bottles continued to come. The place became a disaster, champagne staining a bunch of people's clothes but none cared, celebrating the exciting news together.

Rebecca chugged an entire bottle of champagne by herself, taking a few breaks but Jason cheered her on throughout the whole thing. Eric had gotten tipsy by his sixth glass, and drunk by his twelfth, and when Draven played music and dimmed the lights, there was no holding back.

They danced and drank, ordered food for all of them as Draven talked to every single one of them, inviting authors from different floors for drinks and food as well, and the celebration turned chaotic, with too many people on the floor to even move. Draven was standing on one of the desks, being Miranda's desk who glared at him from the corner of the room, but continued to drink.

Eric eyed him a few times, and could not help but fall into a trance as he examined the smile on Draven's face. That was all his, and the desires within his body was beginning to become extreme; he needed some at this very moment.

Jacob needed to shake him, "We might go to the bar tonight, you're joining us?"

"Of course," he said, already drunk, "I could never say no."

"That's if we make it there," Rebecca added.

Eric laughed, "I'm not sure I will either."

However, when a familiar face entered the floor and the eyes started searching amongst the crowd, Eric's fell frozen on his spot. Draven noticed him too, and immediately turned to Eric, who was unable to move. He rapidly descended from the desk, and headed in Eric's direction.

But Justin got there first.

He approached Eric who did not move, merely stared at him as he breathed, "Hey Eric."

"Hi," it was seriously dry, barely even a whisper but he felt that if he attempted to run, he would fall in less than a step. His vision was doubling if he didn't focus, and he was a bi too drunk.

Justin shoved his palms in his front pockets, "Can we talk?"

Eric shrugged his shoulders, "Sure."

They marched towards the back corner of the room, where it was a bit more quiet, and Justin finally focused entirely on Eric, saying, "Look, Melissa missed you, she cries everyday."

Eric did not respond, instead looked away.

"And I miss you too, Eric."

"You're not gay," Eric breathed, "and I forced it on you, that's my fault."

"I am though—"

"You don't like me," Eric added quietly, "you like the idea of me, but you can't be with a guy."

Justin shook his head, "Just give me another chance Eric."

He bit his bottom lip, a bit hesitant, but Eric eventually said, "I need space, and time."

"Come on, we were best friends—"

"Yea well best friends don't break each other's hearts" they heard a voice behind Justin, and as Eric glanced over Justin's shoulder, the icy blue gaze that burned Justin's back made him inhale sharply.

Tall built Draven was marching towards them, and had heard a bit of the conversation. He took the last sip of the champagne bottle he was holding, and dropped it on the side, lucky it did not break. He then said, "You weren't invited."

"I came to talk to my boyfriend," he retorted, with furrowed brows.

Draven raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure that's still your title? Because if that's the case, he cheated on you last night."

Justin turned sharply to Eric who frowned as well, "We're not dating anymore Justin, not after you cheated on me."

"You cheated on me too though—"

"It was just a kiss and I was drunk," Eric replied sharply, "I'm not saying it makes it any better but you had sex with my best friend, while sober."

"I forgave you, so why can't you forgive me?"

"Because you're not gay, Justin."

"And he's with me now," Draven added, which caused Justin to growl under his breath and face him.

"You did all that stuff to impress him, get him in your grip. Put him as co-author knowing damn well he did absolutely nothing—"

"I did do something!" Eric snarled.

Which Draven agreed with, "He edited my synopsis and first chapter, which made me change the story. You're discrediting his work right now."

"I don't care," Justin stepped closer to Draven, "You're using your status to win him over."

"So?" Draven chuckled, "I'm not allowed to do that?"

"I'm the one that got him the job—"

"Thank you," Draven laughed, "you brought two soulmates together."

That was the last straw for Justin, he placed both his palms on Draven's chest and pushed him backwards. The sudden commotion had caused a few heads to turn, and the negative energy was making Eric turn away, not wanting eyes to see that he was involved as well.

When Justin noticed that he was making a scene, he stopped and forced himself to regain his composure.

Draven snickered, "When are you going to leave my floor? Once again, you weren't invited."

After a scoff, Justin turned to Eric and snarled, "I thought you were better than this," and stormed away from the scene, entering the elevator and descending from his floor.

At the end of the night, when everyone had left home, and Eric was moments from exiting and follow Jason and Rebecca to the bar, Draven approached Eric and said, "I need to talk to you about the project for a moment."

Eric turned to Jason and said, "I'll meet you both there."

As he entered Draven's office, Draven closed the door behind him and locked it. Afterwards, he raced to Eric, placed his lips onto his as he began pulling open his buttoned shirt, and then proceeded hurriedly to his belt buckle. Eric frowned against the kiss, noticing how rushed Draven seemed and he pulled apart, "Are you alright?"

"Justin made me angry," he hissed, "so I want you. And I've been waiting for this the whole day." He seemed desperate, as he removed his own shirt and his pants were off in seconds before Eric even had the chance to pull down his own. Draven caressed Eric into his arms, gripped around his waist and lifted him onto his desk, pushing all his work onto the floor to make space for Eric.

It was mesmerizing, watching his eyes roll at the back of his head when the ecstasy became too strong for his body to handle, and his legs beginning to shake abnormally, making it harder for Dresden to grab hold onto them. Even the manner his nails dug in his flesh was exhilarating, causing Draven to grunt as his piercing blue eyes brightened with desire, flames of hormones warming his body.

Both exited at the same time, their eyes in trance as they marched quietly to the elevator, Eric barely able to walk. His lower back was aching, but it had been worth it. Draven kept a subtle hold on his waist to make sure he would not fall, and they both headed to the bar.
